The point being, Christians are being sucked into worldly crap like this, rooted in occult, founded by godless humanists like Jung. Why, i just cant understand, why would a Christian give anytime to someting like this.
Look i know you probably think im a nut, if you havent studied Jung, then please do.
Were talking about the mind here, the non physical part of us, no godless humainst will take anytime of mine when it comes to dealing with these issues.

I would encourage any Christian, spend time searching the scriptures over nonsense like this.
Bless you all.

Not to make this personal BUT my whole thing with Psychology is that I have a mother who has had like 8 mental episodes. The first ones started because she was believing anything and everything she heard from people who were using scripture as leverage. y2k was coming and people around here were talking about hoarding for tribulation and all kind of crazy stuff. So she sold everything we owned and bought about 3 tons of rice to fill the basement.

Then she cracked and something in her mind broke. And she has been in and out of mental hospitals for the last 12 years.

The mind may not be a "physical thing" but people can still lose it.

What are "these issues"?

Also, the article you posted is focused on the therapies related to jungian typing. Since nobody here was attempting to use the results for anything therapeutic (or "inner healing"), half of that article is useless to begin with.

Your continued insistence that because personality typing came from non-christian roots, so must be terrible, is absurd. Paul was persecuting christians, not just having a difference of religion, but having an active anti-christian life. And yet God chose to sanctify him and used him for far greater things.

Evil can be identified by its fruit. None of your articles have provided any evidence of bad fruit. I haven't seen any evidence of bad fruit. So far, in this thread, other than your posts, it has been received pretty well by strong christian people. It seems to have helped a couple of people. Sure sounds like good fruit to me.

Liamson, im sorry to hear that, and im not wanting to make this personal in anyway either. There can obviously be extremes in all things, im very much against the exteme types of teachings you mention above.

The very basic point im trying to get across is that the Bible has all we need to have peace of mind, we dont need anything else to keep our non physical parts, soul and spirit 'healthy 'if you like.

Im not the quickest of typers and dont have the time just now to expand, however id like to PM you Liamson if thats ok?

I'm okay with that. And I agree, our soul and our spirit are something that I cannot comment on. But our mind... that is a science.

Our non-physical parts do not include our mind. Our brain is intrinsically linked to our mind. If one part of our brain gets damaged, then the effect that has on our personality and cognitive abilities are great effected. The neuro-chemicals in our brain that regulate us if imbalanced make a person depressed, moody, angry or just indifferent to the world regardless of how much of the Bible they read.

BrainConnection.com - The Strange Tale of Phineas Gage - Page 1

A famous example of what I'm talking about^^^^
He went from being an ESTJ to an ISTP, instantly.

His personality was blown through the top of his head with a metal tamping rod. Though he lived his mind was never the same.

Proverbs 8:5 You who are simple, gain prudence; you who are foolish, gain understanding.

Proverbs 1:20-22:
Wisdom cries aloud in the street, in the markets she raises her voice; at the head of the noisy streets she cries out; at the entrance of the city gates she speaks: "How long, O simple ones, will you love being simple? How long will scoffers delight in their scoffing and fools hate knowledge?

I love the Critical analysis part.
() Yeah, and, I think Liam 'ouched' my analysis, LOL, vkat :) But that is me, so, I BET it's in my Jung type.

Au contraire, lukeboywalker (I nic everyone, so you know) , the person, Jung, may very well be evil as a R.L. Stine horror story or a J. K Rowling , who admits having dabbled in Satanism. However, just because someone does one thing in life does not mean they cannot do something else entitely good. God can work in Christians and non-Christians, just the nons don't see the work. You know this is true because God is being very patient right now , waiting until EVERYONE in the world has had a chance to hear of Him and accept Him or reject Him. And then....

Well, and then He will come again :)

With me, luke?
So Jung--and, we don't know his entire life either, as far as being a Christian growing up do we--- may have deeloped his TEST when He was with God and then drifted away, like Satan, who mustbhave herma doing good ángel things in Heaven before He snapped into thoughts of power over God and became evil.
Point is, in order to make a judgment of something or someone we must look at what?

The content.

And, I am not saying that Jung, as a person, may very well be a hating humanista, or, however you luto it, like, but the TEST CONTENT, 74 questions,

Awesome! Xfactor singer melanie amaro singing 'When You Believe,' for one of her songs in that singing competition on Fox. Last week, Stacy Francisca want 'Amazing Grace,' for her song after voted off in competition.

God is moving, people, let's song a little ' Crystal' our way, PEOPLE GET READY, JESUS IS COMING, DOING WE WILL BE GOING HOME.

Sorry, off topic there, and, Wow, Simón have her props, said she sung it like Whitney. And she did, but the point is you need to believe in the CONTENT of God.

You can say your opiniones of someone's personality but DO NOT transfer it to a test , like JUNG'S , that simply asked a des choice questions to help people understand who they are.

That is not evil, luke. :)

I scored INFJ
67% Introverted
62% Intuitive
38% Feeling
1% Judging

I'm seriously disappointed that I got the most common one on the poll. This is gonna bug me. :(

If my personality is apparently so similar to a decent chunk of people, why do I feel so odd and alienated all the time??...

lol I know it's just a silly test, but still.
Grrr, I just wanted something to prove I'm weird and uncommon so that I could make sense of why I feel like I don't fit in anywhere.

hey relena, i don't know if this helps at all. but my personality is ESFJ,
but because of wounds and possibly a different processing system than your average joe, i never ever ever ever ever fit in anywhere either. i'm looking into autism spectrum to weigh it out. but i might actually have a mild form of what they call asbergers syndrome.

not saying you have that. i'm just saying. if you felt like a misfit all your life like i did, there could be a whole plethora of reasons for it. partly life experience, personality, your settings and how you reacted to them, family structures... etc etc. or ya know. you could just see life differently than others for some reason. *hug*

though this tool is an AMAZING ONE that i ADORE....we are not merely the results of one personality test. we are a sum of our life experiences and the very unique way God tailored each one of us. you may be a "common" personality: INFJ. but all that means is there's several on this site who process the same way as you. or not enough people have voted. perhaps there's something in the personality of an INFJ that is more likely to vote in a poll!!!! hahahahaha. i haven't yet. but i will. i just wanna read the whole thing first.

~personality theory floats my boat. i think if it were evil God would have told me Himself. because he is capable of doing so if something is really important to Him.

Liamson,

Just wanted to say I'm sorry you went through this and can certainly understand your interest in psychology. It reminded me of someone I worked with in college whose mother battled mental illness and so this person would always be either dropping their mom off or picking her up from various hospitals.

Your threads and posts are always very appreciated--and I agree with Nod from another thread--you are the only one who could refer to faults as being "beautiful".

God bless in your search for what this life holds for you and thanks for adding so much depth to the forum.

I guess the thing i just dont get, and call me old fashioned if you like, but for the last 1900 years, man has not need psychology to help with his greatest and deepest needs.
Has God chose in this last hundred years to reveal these truths to man, to help him better understand himself through psychology, and has He chose to reveal these deep truths by godless humanists? when Jesus said that the world cannot recieve the Spirit of Truth...

I love you guys, just this really grieves my spirit as i feel its leading people astray..

Man "did not need" an understanding of illness or surgery either. Would you condemn them for their history? The east was developing techniques to deal with physical illness long before the west caught up.

As for God choosing to reveal these "deep" truths... Personally, I don't find them to be all that profound. Reading through the "precepts and ethics" section of the MBTI wikipedia page should quickly dispel any thoughts about MBTI being some magical truth test. Actually, that section seems to address a large part of the issues raised in the 3 articles you have posted so far. The test is not intended for the purposes that those articles were so adamantly against.

Though it can be used many ways, in the end it is just a tool. We can list off a million different ways that the tool could be used poorly, and I'm sure it probably has been. But God says He can use anything, and God's perfection is a deep truth!

The very basic point im trying to get across is that the Bible has all we need to have peace of mind, we dont need anything else to keep our non physical parts, soul and spirit 'healthy 'if you like.
I have a lot of inner conflict in my life. No matter what my mind touches (what I think, or read), my head always manages to make it more confusing. I was born with a different type of high intelligence, not necessarily making me "smarter", but it means I think about things differently, more right-brained and intuitively, I can notice deep things that most people ignore, and it makes me feel lonely. And it sort of handicaps me in other areas of my life. I was diagnosed with ADHD as a child, and for those of you who believe the myth that everyone outgrows ADHD, it isn't true. It is how your mind is wired from birth, and it stays all your life.

When I was 18, I would read the bible a lot, trying to make sense of things. And some of the things I must have misread, because as usual, my mind added more complication to the words and wanted to understand more than it was saying in simple words.

It's almost like the MORE complicated something sounds, the more easy it is for me to understand. It's like a symphony of flow. But if something is described in partial, it's like getting information with holes in it and all you can see is the holes. It seemed like there should be more explaining of what the bible puts "simply".

I ended up feeling horrified at some of the things I read, because to me I translated it like the bible was proving that my mind is perfectly, geniusly, brilliantly designed for me to think myself to hell no matter what I do.

I was terrified that I couldn't control my thoughts, I realized I was not in control of the scary things I was thinking. I started doubting God against my own will, it felt like someone else was thinking for me, but it was me. I couldn't stop me. Everything started to feel so alien and artificial, just the thought of there being no God turned my whole universe upside down. And at the same time I felt horrible because I thought "if God is real, he'll see me thinking like this and I'll be punished for what I can't control" because the bible made it sound like all unbelievers will be punished no matter what.

Reading the bible made me feel sad and isolated, because it made it seem as if God only paid attention to people with "normal" minds that behave and accept things "as is" without questioning them.

I remember sitting alone on my floor, praying to God that he would kill me now while I'm young, to stop the self destruction of my own mind, because I knew I could not control it. I knew if I died young, I could still get to heaven. I felt like if I go on, I will go to hell because of my uncontrollable thoughts.

And despite all this....yes, despite all of what I just said, I am still an optimist at heart. There is a shining optimism deep within me that sneaks up and comforts me when I have a break in thoughts accidentally. I got to know this optimistic side when I was in my 20's. I read some things that might be considered "Godless" that have saved my mind, not because of what they represented, but because they spoke my "language". I used what I needed, and regurgitated what I did not.

It actually led me back to learning how to control my thoughts better, and after I learned skill in controlling my thinking, I was once again able to start seeking out God again.

I learned that I'm actually a very spiritual person, that I have a CHOICE to call on God if I am brave enough to let him fix my life.

I had revelations that were more beautiful than I can explain, and I am not sure I want to share them here because I don't want people to say "yeah right" and try and take that away from me. I learned that I was created different for a beautiful purpose, that all of us are created for different purposes, and we shouldn't compare why that person thinks this, why they think that, etc. Sometimes God gives us psychological problems, not to "overcome" but to use to our advantage, even if it's also full of many disadvantages.

The disadvantages turned out to be a gift, because they force me to be humble (well, aside from when I slip up and get stubborn hehe :p).

My very long, drawn out point is, not everyone is the same, and not ALL forms of learning about psychology is "evil", sometimes learning why you are needed here can save another life from being destroyed later on.
Not everyone is ready for the bible the same time as others. For some they may need to mature their minds for a few years or a decade before they are ready to understand.
