Yeah man, I totally get what you mean. I am called to full time ministry and I know that means I will be supported by others in various way however, I feel uncomfortable about the whole finances issue so I've kinda cheated there and just ask God for anything I need. I know I have to get over myself at some stage and let other people input into my life as they feel led but it's not something I have to deal with right now
So what that means in my life right now is I walk with and trust God and He provides. That gives me the freedom of time to live and serve as He directs without secular employment restrictions.

I teach from about 4 on up to adult ages. Right now, my youngest is about 4th grade. As for prodegies, aren't they all little geniuses. But to be honest, there are a couple that I would not be surprised if they go on to become professional musicians (Josh Bell, Charlie Daniels), and others, while not profession musicians, to play in Orchestras (Boston Pops anyone?).

My parents named me "Nichole" because they both liked it. My mom insisted on adding the "h", because she thought it didn't look right without it. My middle name is "Christine", which my dad chose because it means "From Christ", or "Follower of Christ". Hopefully I'm living up to it .
Funny story from childhood: When I was 4 years old, my parents announced the impending arrival of a new sister, and asked me and my brother and sister if we had any ideas for baby names. After giving the matter a GREAT deal of thought, I respectfully requested that the new sis be named "Nichole". My reasoning was that my 2 current sibs were both named after my parents, so naming the new baby after me would mean that everyone in our family was either named after someone or had someone named after them, thus correcting the inequality. My parents were amused by my reasoning (it made perfect sense to me at the time), but rejected my request. Now that I think about it, if you count my middle name, I was sort of named after my Righteous Big Brother, Jesus .

I serve The Big Boss by trying to do what He says, which includes telling people about Jesus when I'm led to do so, or delivering messages to other people when He tells me to, which is really fun and amazes me. It seems like He started using me more when I told Him "Okay, I'm tired of thinking about what I want in life. Please give me the Grace to only seek what YOU want". My walk with Christ has been stronger ever since . So, in general, I try to seek His will in whatever I'm doing, and do my best to let my little light shine. I would also STRONGLY recommend, to anyone who wants to be The Lord's servant, to ask God to fill you with The Holy Spirit, because it makes a big difference in your ability to hear from "Headquarters" .

Currently, ceramics don't really work into my life. If they did, it would probably be more as a hobby, because my projects are so time-consuming that I would have to charge a fortune for them, just to make a living. I was led to take a few ceramics classes in college, and that's where all of my pieces came from. It was really fun.

I am amazed that you think my scripture knowledge if deft, because I don't think it's anywhere near where it should be, to my discredit . However, when I'm trying to explain a point, both here and in "real life", the verse I need always seems to pop into my mind, and I can usually quote it almost exactly, but have no idea where to find it in the Bible. I'm lucky (oops! I mean "blessed' ) if I can even remember what book it's in. Maybe it's God making up for my natural shortcomings; I have a VERY hard time remembering numbers. Haha, suppose I cannot argue with that. I simply know professors who, while brilliant, have isolated themselves from events around them to the point they form flawed theoretical systems and end up challenging their students in no other way but letting them struggle with said systems. I never want to be that way.

Again, I express my admiration for TE Lawrence: a man of letters and a man of action. The sort of man I seek to become.

Jullianna, I got my first guitar the summer after I graduated high school. So..hmm..I guess that makes about 17 years? Wow. For having first started back then I can't play half of what you'd think. lol. I haven't been dedicated to any strict practice schedule over the years or anything though, and there have been times when I've spent more time on other instruments like bass or ukulele even. I only picked it up to attempt to put chords with lyrics, etc. Every time I decide I want to REALLY get more into "lead" type playing I end up changing my mind somehow. So I'm pretty simplistic and more rhythm for sure.
It's awesome that you're learning to play! It can be really tough in the beginning, but it's very much worth it if you stick with it. If you (or anyone reading this) ever have any guitar questions feel free to ask me. Just nothing too advanced. Sometimes I think I know more about working on them than playing them though. ha.
If you're still in the early stages especially, hang in there. Your fingers will get tougher. I think you mentioned having an electric guitar though? Those are much easier to play as far as pressing the strings down goes. So that's a help.
I guess I got a little carried away with what could've been a much simpler answer. That tends to happen with me and music and guitars though. ha.

I keep a few. I have a betta and some cory cats. It's not a unique setup at all I know. It seems to be the typical thing that many who want to keep something else with their betta go with.... mainly because those bettas won't tolerate most other fish in the tank with them.

One of my much older stepbrothers played 12 string and I fell in love with it. Never got around to learning. He passed away recently and it became very important to me to learn, so I bought a guitar. I haven't been practicing much due to being so busy with Christmas, etc., but I'm keeping it next to my couch in the TV/music room as a reminder that I need to get on it.

I have a big tank of goldfish in my diningroom, various types, and a huge pleco named Dave. I had it in my office at the firm (planned on getting sharks, but never did haha), but it got to be too much to deal with at work as the fish grew, so I took them home. I don't really have time to dedicate to the fancier breeds.

Sure Nichole. I'll give the super duper quick version but I'm happy to answer any further questions if more details are wanted.
Raised in a christian family, always remember being God conscious, asked Jesus to save me at about 4 years old, asked for the the Holy Spirit at about 5 or 6 and started speaking in tongues and some other supernatural things happening like seeing angels, got disenchanted (excuse the choice of word) with church as I didn't see Him there like He is in the bible, asked God to be real to me like He is in the bible or not at all as I wasn't interested in following a dead or distant God, met God in a powerful and personal way at 17, Started active 'ministry' and saw signs wonders miracles deliverance's and so on, God called me to His service and life continued. And now I'm 29. There ya go. A super squished up personal testimony.

That's cool, thanks for sharing . I'm wondering how you knew about asking to be filled with the Holy Spirit when you were only 5 or 6? I was the ripe old age of 15 before I thought to ask, after hearing a sermon about Luke 11:11-13 (if ye then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children: how much more shall your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to them that ask Him?), and also the companion verses in Matthew 7:7-11. And then I was like "I don't think I've asked for that........" So, I prayed to be filled with the Holy Spirit, and immediately I felt......different. Like God was smiling at me, at least that's the best way I can think of to describe it. My walk has felt more "super-charged" ever since . I've definitely seen some things happen in my life that HAD to have been orchestrated by God, as well as some things I KNOW that God told me, because there's no other way I could have known them. But, I'm not sure I've had anything happen that could be considered a bona-fide miracle/sign/wonder. I'd love to hear more......Tell me a story, Uncle Cheeky! (pulls up a chair, puts chin in hands, listens expectantly).

Great question Jullianna. Um, the first one that comes to mind would be, ''Don't wait for the anointing to come upon you. Instead, live in the anointing''. It changed a lot of how I view and do Christianity and live my faith. But there are lots of other things that have been influential and inspiring for me. ''Unless you're living for something bigger than yourself, you're not really living''. ''As we come closer to God, first we get burnt by His fire, and then, we become the fire''. ''Believing you can do something is not faith, that is self confidence. Faith is knowing it can't be done unless God acts and having confidence that He will''. ''Not knowing how to is not reason enough for not doing what needs to be done when God has told you to''. and I'll stop now.

I may as well have skipped math after I learned long division, because the rest is just a mixed-up jumble of random numbers and symbols to me. It's funny, though, sometimes I'll be talking to a friend and quote a verse, like "Don't worry about all that. "Sufficient unto the day are the evils thereof". And they'll be like: Oh, right! Matthew 6:34! And I'm like HOW DO YOU DO THAT?!?!?!? It's neat that we aren't all good at the same things, it would be boring if we were. "If the whole body were an eye, where were the hearing? To be honest, I've always been into names and their meanings, so I try to put a lot of thought into my own. I came up with my username "As if in Passing" as an analogy to the nature of the majority of relationships in our lives (whether on CC or otherwise).

There's a story about a girl who decided to kill herself one day. As she was walking home, a woman smiled at her. This small act of kindness broke the girl down into tears, and she told the woman everything. Because of that single moment, the single act of that woman's smile, the girl did not kill herself.

'As if in Passing' represents not only the brevity of our time together, but the power of every single moment.

Hopefully this is a sufficient answer. ^^
