Fidelis the Bible describled homosexual behaviour as "dishonurable passionate lust" quote "24Wherefore God also gave them up to uncleanness through the lusts of their own hearts, to dishonour their own bodies between themselves:

25Who changed the truth of God into a lie, and worshipped and served the creature more than the Creator, who is blessed for ever. Amen.
26For this cause God gave them up unto vile affections: for even their women did change the natural use into that which is against nature: 27And likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust one toward another; men with men working that which is unseemly, and receiving in themselves that recompence of their error which was meet."

It's not love.

You cant base the law on Biblical principals cause then you have a dictatorship. Next you're gonna have to outlaw drinking, cussing, lieing. gossiping, gluttony ect....

This seems to be an increasingly common opinion among people claiming Christianity today, what I have heard some call buffet style christianity. "I'll take a heaping portion of love and kindness but leave off the holiness of God and His opinion of sin, it doesn't taste good."

I'm not claiming being christian. I believe in my interpretation of the Bible. If that makes me a christian, then I'm christian. If it doesn't make me a christian: fine, I do not care about the label.

I use to be gay, and it amazes me @ the christians who support it. In America..gays get marriage, and then pastors are FORCED to do weddings if they don't wanna lose their license. Marriage is defined by God, not man.. I don't worry too much about it though, because there's hope for everyone. :) I know pastors who have been arrested for saying that the bible says homosexuality is a sin...IN CHURCH DURING A SERMON!

I do wanna say, I was invited to a lesbian wedding, and I plan on attending. Jesus hung out with the sinners. I'm against it, but the only way they'll know Jesus' love is if I allow Him to love through me.

Oncefallen: Thank you. Hopefully that wisdom will be more effective coming from you. :) Society is attempting to blind even the eyes of christians when this topic comes up, so it's so very important that we approach it in an intelligent, respectful, logical, rational, mature way.

Fidelis: Love (defined in 1 Cor 13) and homosexuality/unnatural sexual relationships (defined in Romans 1) are no more interchangeable than love and adulterous sexual relationships between heterosexuals. You have a very humble, teachable way about you. It's clear that you seek the Truth and God promises all who seek Him will find Him. :)

you believe in your interpretation of the Bible... I pray that the Holy Spirit will prompt you concerning this and that you will grow greatly to a place where you love your brother as we are all called to do but also recognize the Lord God as a Holy and Just God and not just believe in your own interpretation but also be receptive to the elders the Lord places before you in faith. We need to hold Gods will in higher regard than our own interpretations and desire (though at first we may react in pride defending who we think God should be) we need to desire to submit to the will of God as led by the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit will minister truth even after we've reacted in debate. Later, the Lord will deal with us, does it with me almost daily!

As for my opinion, if he is Christian he should not be advocating for same sex marriage. This would make it difficult for clergy to refuse doing weddings.

I'm sorry, but I think it's a little hypocrit.

No one supports death penalty for desecrating the sabbath anymore. No one supports the stoning of women who aren't virigin on their wedding night anymore. No one supports killing ALL inhabitants of a town because of the worshipping of foreign gods takes place in that town anymore. No one supports the stoning of fortunetellers and mediums anymore.

Are people who don't support these biblical laws not christians aswell?

In your own interpretation of the Bible you should first make the difference between the Old and New Testaments. We are now under the binding of the New Testament. In which homosexuality is still named as sin.
So if we, as Christians, are so eager to support sin, maybe we should also consider supporting incest (which can also be consensual sex between two adults), theft, killing and other sins as well.

Christians need to see the difference between love for the individual, be him a criminal, liar, homosexual, etc - who God's Son died for; and He did that in order to deliver them from sin, and not to condone it - and standing for God's word and His truth. If as a Christian you care for a gay person, you will show love for that person not by "accepting" their way to eternal destruction but by letting them know the truth about how God sees them and that they need His love and deliverance.

If you can picture Jesus attending a gay marriage, then that's fine.
Just remember our actions always speak louder than our words.

Because then you continue living in sin, rather than committing the one. People argue it's an issue of love. I'm sorry, but you can LOVE a MAN OR a WOMAN equally - homosexual or not. Homosexuality is not about the love factor, it is the SEXUAL part of the relationship. That's my opinion on the topic, but God will judge each and every person for their sin, but my best advice is God doesn't change; his views or what he hates. It clearly states that in the bible and contrary to popular belief, love or not, he doesn't condone that behavior. He doesn't stop loving the person ever, but the sin itself he hates. So just be careful with this one, I know it's a touchy issue, and I get it, I have a lot of people in my life who are in homosexual relationships, working in an arts industry, and I questioned the same thing 'but why God? They LOVE each other'. God showed me the answer as stated at the top :) But, with that said the earth is Satan's kingdom, while the people in it are purchased at a price whether they know it or not so like any sin when they become Christians we just have to pray they rise above ALL SIN, because at the end of the day it's all equal. This is just one of the few last laws that is still based upon biblical principle, that's why it's such a huge debate. :) Hope this helps in some way! Please know this is not an attack in any way, just something God revealed to me when I too went through what you went through.
