i do love the Lord, green... the thing i dont love is heresy...

notice i call the dotctrine "putrid filth", because thats what gnosticism is... it comes from the spirit of antichrist

so is phariseeism. They hung Christ and refused to repent even after they were confronted for doing it. Acts 5 is amazing of how blind man can be to the truth. Legalism kills, there is no hope in a legalistic doctrine

Can any of you show where there was more than one Jesus that God sent? Can you show, more than one cross that sins were dealt with? Can you show where a sinner received eternal life from God more than once, where he was justified more than once, where he was declared righteous more than once and where he received salvation from God more than once?

In the kingdom of God there is no such thing as a second bite at the apple or such a thing as a second chance. They do not exist in the mind of God, they are not part of the throne of God nor have they even been part of God's counsel at any time. Second chances are nothing more than first class humanism and are contrary to the mind of Christ. There is a single eye and a double-minded man, one is full of light and the other is unstable in all his ways and full of...

If we offend or break any of the commandments in just one point, we are guilty of breaking the whole law of commandments, because the scriptures can not be broken. Some of you don't even get that, but you need to chew on it for awhile. God is very repetitious but He does not give second chances. He is merciful and gracious but does not give a second bite at the apple. He redeems and buys back and will forgive over and over but does not give second chances. Today is a new day but we will never be able to get it back once it passes and all the days that follow will also be new.

God is immutable, He never changes, He is faithful and will never fail but does not give second chances. It is appointed for man once to die and then the judgment, there is no second chance. There is a second death but no second chance. There is only one time of salvation for every sinner and one drawing that comes to a man or woman and if it is rejected there is no second chance. Our life is like a vapour and there is no telling when it will vanish with no second chance. Old things have passed away and all things are becoming new. God is always doing a new thing.

To think of God being someone that would offer an incomplete salvation that could be taken away or forfeited is being a double-minded man and not a man with a single eye. Anyone that conditions this one great salvation that we have through Christ on anything other than mercy, grace, faith and being kept by the power of God is a person who teaches that God is a God of second chances. The prodigal son story was not given to illustrate a second chance through repentance, it was to illustrate redemption and restoration and the mind of the father that never changed toward his son. That is the deep thing that we get from that story. Some don't want it and some do. One looks at it through the mind of the flesh that likes to conform, while others look at it through the mind of the Spirit and are transformed by it.

God offers forgiveness to all those who will turn from their evil ways and return to Him. If we confess (and forsake) our sins the Father will not only forgive us of our sins but will also cleanse us from all unrighteousness. This cleansing will only occur if one is to walk in the light

To equate such teaching with legalism, pride, saving oneself by their own merit, is the epitome of foolishness. It is akin to the Pharisee who saw Jesus heal on the Sabbath and thus used that to negate His message.

Wow, you don't know much about the word do you? The pharisee was angry at Jesus because the pharisee thought Jesus sinned by healing on the sabbath, because he understood what we can and can not do on the sabbath from mans point of view and not Gods. Which he took from man made books they used as equal with Gods book

If you can't get this basic fact right, how can we listen to anything else you say?

You still have a problem here because you make forgiveness and cleansing of sin conditioned upon repentance and not upon a faith that recognizes that sin was paid for and judged by Christ through the death of the cross. Until you do, you are in unbelief with your own understanding and that is an evil thing because of how you account for the cross in relationship to God and the sinner.

This statement is a little backwards and that is understandable coming from your frame of referance.

Selenah, I see alot of hostility in this thrad, and I hope you are able to read these posts with an open mind and heart. The bottom line is once you become a child of God you are HIS. No one can take that from you, but you can fall. We all sin and make mistakes, which is why Jesus saved us. We have the gift of repentance. Just because someone becomes a Christian does not make them perfect. We still fall short. I sin everyday, but I ask Gof for forgiveness.
The only advice I will give you is study the bible on your own. Read it, learn from it. All the answers are there. Don't depend on men to tell you about your salvation. Look toward God for that and he will give you the answer. :)

Idk if I'd call it hostility. The arguing really really bothered me when I first joined but now I'm kind of used to the "discussions" so it seems normal now lol. I'll try reading the Bible some more. It just seems like I get bored or don't really get anything out of what I read though. I need to use some study aids I guess.

Selenah, you are still very young, so what said as a child was said in childish ignorance. I'm not excusing sin, but don't torment yourself about things that you did as a child. Look to Christ now as your all in all. If you are saved, then all sins; past, present, and future are forgiven you for Jesus' sake. And don't think that you have committed the unpardonable sin. People who commit that sin have no desire for the things of God whatsoever, they are happy without Christ and are not worried that they have offended Him in some way. The very fact that you are still seeking the things of God prove that you have not committed that sin.
Satan loves to put thoughts into our heads that even we know are ridiculous, just to discourage us. Don't fall for his schemes. When the thoughts come, just ignore them. Turn to God's word and prayer. If you continually do that, you will notice the thoughts lessen. Satan will first trouble you buy making you think that you committed a sin against God by not believing in Him, then he will proceed to torment you by bringing the same accusation against you, "that you couldn't be saved because you denied God." It is a common trick to keep God's people feeling unsaved and guilty. It makes us look to what we have done, instead of looking to what Christ has done for us.
Keep looking up, not inward. Jesus is our righteousness and He delights to hear our prayers and troubles. He knows the schemes of satan better than any of us possibly could. Remember, satan tried to get Jesus to deny His own Father, so how much more will he attack us weak humans!!!! But we have Jesus' strength to oppose satan.
God bless, my friend.

Tom

It's not just Satan. It's me. People always blame satan for everything, but aren't we the ones who made the decisions? I did deny God. People who are saved are supposed to know that they are saved.

Your right, It is not just satan. It can also be our flesh. When we realise the depravity of our souls, and how sinfull we truly are, Our flesh is going to laugh at us when we think we are saved, and we will question it. How can I, A sinner, be saved based on just faith in something which happened 2000 years ago. Woe is me, how can I ever get to heaven. How can God ever forgive me.

Happens to me all the time

Satan tempts us. He will manipulate us, and before we know it we are sinning. Sometimes we sin and don't realize it, but you have made an excellent point! We are to take responsibility for our actions. It is our choice whether we sin or not. It is our choice to let God in our lives. Everything in our life is a choice. You say you denied God. I don't know anything personal about you and I am not asking, but the fact you are asking questions and sincerely wondering about the word is very inspiriing. We all fall short, and we all experience things in our life that are not always posotive, but I will say that you are a very very very strong individual and I admire your thirst for knowledge.

I think I just got off track... DARN ADD!

Here is a "kick" to get you back on track
:p
anyway, I agree with what you said, so I guess we are both off track

What do you think of this verse in (Lk 8:12)...

12 Those by the way side are they that hear; then cometh the devil, and taketh away the word out of their hearts, lest they should believe and be saved.

Jesus said that it is possible for the word to be received and enter the heart and immediately be snatched out by the devil, keeping the person from being saved. Think of how many times that has happened in our lifetime. Think of this verse the next time you tell someone about the gospel and you give them God's word on it. Pray to God in your spirit and make sure that they understand what you tell them (Jn 17:20), because if they don't the devil can come and take it away and they will lose their opportunity to be saved. They could be a friend or a relative or just a person you meet, but tell them and make it clear to them that God loves them and sent His Son who suffered death and was judged for their sins. Always tell them the truth about the love of God and don't leave it out because God SO LOVED THE WORLD, that He gave His only begotten Son.

I have younger brother who wants nothing to do with me and all I can do is pray for him and love him because God so loved me. I have to keep loving him and showing that love to him whenever the opportunity is there, even if it is misunderstood. I get mad sometimes but is comes right back to loving him because he must always get the message that God loves him in that state where he is at and no matter what he has done. He must always know that God is greater than his sin or his failure or any weakness he has. Some day God will get a hold on him through His goodness and his eyes will be opened and he will gaze upon the Son and see His great mercy and His abounding grace and that will be a glad day for many and also for heaven.

or did anyone do something that wasn't in the will of god?

we do it all the time, It is called sin
So what you are saying is to fullfill the fathers will so that that the pre-plan of God could come about was a sin for the people who God used to do it? And oh by the way why didn't jesus ever see sin?

I do not understand what your asking. Could you explain further

No I'm not strong. I tend to sway back and forth on things. I'm not strong physically either lol one time at church there was a strength contest thing and everyone including a 10yr old girl beat me. I was like "Oh man this is terrible!" Time to start weight lifting I guess. Anyways what were we talking about...

Sigh.......

:(

Sorry, too, that I used your quote as an example, Z, if that offended you, it was not the only quote that could cause Sel to question who these christians are, it was just the one I grabbed. Hindsight, I wouldn't have used anyone's quote above my ask to keep Love on your heart with the knowing that a person not knowing whether they want to believe or not was asking questions.

God bless, Z. May God bless you for doing His will.
:)

Good post, elizzy . God bless you, milady, for your good work done all over c.c. and wherever Lord leads you to follow His will :)

No entiendo
=====
No entiendo lo mi, Sel ?

:)

Lol, i don't speak Spanish but looked up 'entiendo' because I didn't understand you.

That construction of mine is probably wrong, but, hey, can't fault a guy for trying can you :D
_______
I was saying in that no comprendo statement this: we should speak to each other in Love and, if,, a seeker like you, Sel, is on here asking questiins, our petty differences should be put aside. You have time for choosing the idiosyncrasies of doctrine in time later. For now, we should be asking you to read the bible, God's Word, pray for His answers like what elizabeth and eternally grateful said . and , also, we should simply, as the Lord leads, answer your questions, not pose our own agenda.

____God is Love, Sel,, this I know: God will never want you to leave Him, only man, who can be under influence of Satan even IF they choose to bear bad fruit. He, Lord God, He, milady, is the ONLY One who will never let you down, never wondering IF you should choose Him. That would be Satan, working through your flesh, telling you: I don't know if I believe in God or not.

Satan will REALLY be after you, even pitting believers against each other, until YOU choose Him. Go to a church, pray for His help to choose. I pray you choose Him :)

Blessings, and, I hope, Sel,, you understood what was said by mi better this time , but , if not, I can try to better comprende things for you :)

Sometimes you are stronger than you think. I learned that recently. As far as being physically strong... well, I am 5'11 and built. I am not fat by and means but no anorexic either. I am NOT lying when people say that I intimidate them by my size(being tall), Yet, I have a 10 year old son that can pin me down in a wrestling match.

I may look mean but I not.
