look at the phrase "Holy matrimony" how is it possible to take an abomination and consecrate it Holy?

its not just homosexuality. You can't do that with any sin. That would be like "well, I can't change this one sin I keep repeating. So I'll use my one free pass now.

what about those guys who take many wives? polygamy? is that okay? if they can't settle for the wife of their youth can they just marry every girl they want to sleep with?

what do we know of Holy? it's God. Alone. God doesn't bend to us. We bend to Him. He is bigger than any of our individuality's. It is a fact that if there is something about me that doesn't exist in God, it doesn't win. That's any sin, that's every sin. If you make up of those things that aren't of God you lose yourself. One way, or another.

Ok i am unsure if my one post stayed or was removed..i believe it is a sin..but there are many sins..and to me it is just as bad for a straight person who is a christian to be sleeping around with someone who they're not married to..many deal with the baggage of sexual sin..some of those deal with it in terms of porn..or homosexuality..or infidelity..but its all baggage and i just want to say i would hope everyone would be mindfull its a struggle and i beleve it isn't easy..its a problem/stronghold. We shoudl be compassionate and see people beyond their 'struggle' be it homosexuality, an eating disorder,pride, whatever sin/struggle.. We shouldn't nitpick and we should love the person who is wrapped up in the sin and not act in an isolationist manner and not befriend them or become homophobic. So many in the church treat gays and others as damaged goods..that's a flawed way to reach out to them. Are you surprised so many don't want to hear what you have to say? Why would they? You didn't love them or get to know them first..you just had an agenda to 'convert them quickly'. These things take time..and we should be patient with them, just as God is patient with us. Not excusing anything so everybody please hear what i am truly saying..i am not excusing it..but we should treat these matters with more sensitivity and not bludgeon people with the bible. Just saying..

Who doesnt deal with pride Tribesman...the people who i have dealt with personally who have the biggest egos are in fact those who identify themselves as followers of Christ! Not the other way around..and i know what you mean..some may be proud..but don't mistaken the reaction of gays to the church failing the gay community by beating up side the head with a bible and calling the abominations or telling them God hates them! How's that going to get anyone to listen to you? If you are homophobic, treat them like they are unclean or incapable of any good moral choice whatsoever because they are gay how in the world are you going to reach them? Not very effectively i will tell you that..
People take time, and they rightfully have barriers and walls up regarding christians..i myself have walls up when a christian believer tells me 'brother im praying for you,thinking of you' sometimes that means they are simply wanting to get into my business to know what my struggles are so they can 'pray with the church' about my issues. That's not loving your fellow man, that's being a gossip and disguising it as caring. Many times christians say they are telling the truth in love when that only means they're making an ill attempt at 'rushing a gay person to the altar' and hoping that an express salvation prayer and maybe a few weeks of bible study/discipleship will change them. And if that's not the case they take the calvinistic approach and call them a reprobate unregenerate sinner..

And this is why I find myself shaking my head with everyday I live, because if you look at the skeletons of a group of people, you can't tell whether they were Gay, Straight, Muslim, Christian, Jewish, Buddhist, Athiest, White, Black, or anything. Why should people be against something that doesn't involve them? If you feel that gay marriage will somehow corrupt you, then you let it. If you think that gay marriage will corrupt your children, then obviously, you aren't doing what you think you should be doing.

well, you have to think, in the same book that it condemns homosexuality, it also condemns sex outside of marriage, however many Christians participate in this act also. Jesus died so that all the old laws from the Old Testament were void and we could be saved even though we sin. Also, while I'm not gonna use the arguement that God made people gay, there is proof that there are chemicals in the brain that control sexual attraction that could be effected during the pregnancy. While none of this changes the fact that it is indeed in the Bible as an abomination, so is a child born out of wedlock. You have to look at all sides and not just go off of one verse. If you're going off of this, you should refuse to touch women (even in nonsexual ways) while on their period. Sorry for the rant. If you actually read this whole thing, thank you. the bible says marriage is between a man and a woman for this reason a man will leave his parents and cleave to his wife, as one flesh because they came from one flesh, a man was never to cleave to a man, they don't spiritually or physically combine that way, Nor is a woman complete without a man spiritually or physically. If someone wants to sin legally fine. Have the government name it something else. Marriage is Gods and its Holy and its only intended the way GOD designed it. Not man.

this letter may sound awfully straight forward and indeed it was. There is no negotiating the difference of Holy and sin. I would however like to extend my love to everyone. No matter where you are or what your walk of life is like, I have nothing but love for you.
