normally i just throw them away nowadays, I don't feel like paying more on water bills than I have too. And now now Nodmyhead, shocked ive been in a relationship at all? Thats a bit harsh.

No, this was harsh

-Don't date a Bimbo (idiot).

I'm confused how thinking of yourself is bad in this situation. You are dating with an assumed goal toward marriage. Logically it would follow that you would want to find the person that is perfect for you. Why settle for less? I mean it all one tip:
-Above all, have fun. Don't settle for a girl who isn't worth you. You want to think about yourself before anyone else. Get what you deserve.

Dont stay in a bad relationship for them, find what YOU want and what makes YOU happy.

Relationships built on love(God) are good, Love is not self-seeking, Finding what makes YOU happy is by definition self seeking. Seeking what makes YOU happy is not love and is not good.

I was doing okay with the list until.

-Girls always win arguments. So don't fight them.

We have had this thread before and I cannot stand a women who can't offer a simple ''I was wrong'' and get on with life.

If I am wrong and I'm being open enough with myself and humble enough to say the words then I will do it.
I expect the same!

I admitted the idiot part was, but not dating someone who could be classified a bimbo I think is fine. They tend to be conceited and very shallow and superficial. Maybe thats not all of them, but I also don't want to date someone who is lacking in intelligence. Brains are attractive.

What kind of relationship is beneficial if it doesnt make you happy?

It sounds to me like you haven't ever been in a good relationship. :(
Ive have had several. My last one ended when I graduated in May, due to the distance. She moved back home after college and I stayed local. I am not a fan at all of long distance relationships.

The kind built on love. Thus the whole point of a relationship is to love, not to be happy.

Sorry man, but a self-seeking, or happiness seeking relationship, is not a good relationship by Gods standards. Your list actually breaks just about every thing love is. So unless you don't follow your own list, there's something missing.

Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.

I guess maybe there was one that your list didn't break/contradict... "Love does not delight in evil, but rejoices in the truth." Guess you still have something.

Does love not equal happiness though? I mean who is in love with someone but isn't happy being with them?

Thats a pretty rough view of love. I mean if I'm in love with someone its because they fit with me and make me happy and I enjoy spending time with them. I dont know what you are looking for in a relationship Lightning but I am interested in hearing.

...You love what you can get out of them?

I think youre oversimplifying what i said. Lightning said that love does not equal happiness. Im disagreeing saying I most certainly have to have someone that brings joy in my life and that I enjoy being with to be in love with them. How do others choose partners? Someone they arent happy with?

Not someone they aren't happy with, no. But to be honest, your list of "tips" read more like something an animal trainer would use to get the desired behavior out of his charges. Oversimplifying? Maybe. But sometimes breaking things down helps us see them in a new light.

wow! i have never seen so many rules only to date, this is so much pressure on a person...........dont you feel yet that youre not breathing well ?.....

This is the price of sin. The world is harsh, but God is good. Love endures forever.

What I am looking for in a relationship? I'm actually not really looking for a relationship. If anything, I have and would be looking for someone whom I can love and trust beyond any other. Looking for someone who can strengthen my relationship with God and help me learn to love more. Someone who is a friend and a lover. Someone to father my children and to help show them the great love of God that my parents have shown me. I'm looking for love; love that endures forever, through all the pain that sin brings.

Well presumably this person would make you happy right?

After having read every post in this thread, I think it's just best for me to bite my tongue and walk away, the rest of you are doing just fine without my help. :D

Sometimes. And angry and sad and disappointed and excited and afraid and just about every other emotion one can experience in life.

I can honestly say I do not seek happiness in my life. Considering the fact that happiness is synonymous with pleasure, and seeking pleasure is sin and leads to pain, I have no desire, and would never encourage anyone to seek their own happiness.
