Just wondering what do the ladies here think of a guy with a beard? After going to my brother church for pray breakfast, some one mistake me for being as young as, or younger than my brother who is 35. I always get mistaken for being 5-15 years younger than I am unless I grow a beard, which because of some white/gray hair make me look a bit older.

What's wrong with looking younger than you are?

Anyway, it depends upon the beard. If kept up well, they look great.

The law of God implies that men should wear a beard (see for example Lev.19:27). We are created thus and are to respect it, we should not follow the worldly "fashions" of our evil day with men shaving off their beards making them look similar to women. Looking older or younger is of less importance.

And do not worry about the women. Just walk upright. Because godly women loves bearded, godly men. Even among some non-christians, decent bearded men are popular among likeminded women:

Here some examples:

Lubavitcher couple

Sikh couple

Armenian couple

Jean Calvin, bearded reformator

"Judge" J F Rutherford, clean shaven false prophet

I like beards on guys (if they are well kept).
As for looking younger, I don't see the problem. When I was 25 I was asked if I was to pay the child fare (up to 16) on the bus! lol

You realize all that old Leviticus stuff passed away on the cross right? I mean nowadays if you want a beard, grow it. If not, don't. We aren't held down by the laws of moses anymore. Not too mention that first picture...the guy has the nasty looking homeless beard.

Ya, I found that out when I googled him, I just had a bit of a chuckle that of all the people he listed who don't believe in God he added that ''clean shaven false prophet'' tag on there.

1. The Judge Rutherford crack amuses me greatly.

2. I'll intermittently go scruff. Some of it is due to laziness. Some of it is due to the fact my girlfriend actually likes it.

I seem to get more attention without a beard than with one.

I don't like the kind of women I seem to attract with a beard. Its almost as if they don't expect me to have a personality. They just want me to look the part.

My fiance actually like me without hair or a beard.

Joseph Smith had a beard. Muhammad had a beard. Nebuchadnezzar had a beard. Charles Manson had a beard. oh and John Calvin had a beard.

Just do what makes you happy. Once you start getting caught up in what 'the ladies' think, you stop being yourself. You end up playing roles for other people hoping you convince them you're something you're not.

Also, women are individuals and something like looks are subjective. Some women love beards, some hate them. Me.. i have a big beard. If a woman wants to be with me, right now, the beard is part of the package. If she doesn't like the beard then it won't happen. I'm not out to cater to what women want to attract them, i'm into me being me, and finding a woman that respects that and is attracted to me that way.

I personally don't like really long beards...I prefer the scruffy style. It changes from girl to girl though, you will have tons of different opinions on this one.

Some guys look good with beard, some guys are better off without it.

When I like the personality of the guy, he could keep the beard or get rid of it... wouldn't really matter to me. :)

Thanks ladies and gentlemen, I was going to let my beard grow, but after one comment, I think I will have to cotinue shaving 2 or 3 times a week, will have a little peach fuzz, but that is it.

Don't want to look that young because when I tell someone I getting to old for this, they always give me a dirty look. Other than that it is a great blessing.

This is not a thread about what "passed away on the cross" (the law did NOT pass away at the cross, but that is another discussion altogether). I am not claiming that one is doomed for not having a beard as a man. I just see no good reason not to have one. And one might trim his beard, or have it real short, that would be all right.

I see this issue as tied to what Paul spoke of in 1Cor.11 where he does lay quiet much stress on the respect for creation in what is sometimes in our day called "gender roles". For example in verse 14 he says that its a shame for a man to wear long hair but an honor for a woman to wear same.

Respect for the order of creation, for each and everyone's attitude toward authority and decency. That is what this issue is all about. So where did he get these ideas from? His own cultural bias? No! The law of God! In 1Cor.6:9 he goes sharp on the "effeminate". This includes men who do not respect their being created as men.

So, these men who want to follow the modern and "fashionable" ways of the world and always clean shave and even grow long hairs, looking like women in their face and head, I must say I don't understand in that wise.
