Didn't God call Deborah, the Judge?
Didn't God call Priscilla and Acquilas to lead church?

Why is it that women can not tell MEN about God ? Can't the Spirit lead them, too?

Acts 13:2 says directly that 'The Holy Spirit' called Saul and Barnabus into ministry?
Can't women be 'called' by God like men ?

What bearing do verses like 1 Timothy 2:12 have on women being 'called' by God to service (preach, teach) over men?

Defend your answers, please, with the Love God's placed in your heart :)

of coarse God uses woman...but aparently you havnt read about Deborah very deeply.
and havnt considered Pricilla that much.

All woman are called to ministry...every single one of them....and gifted.

But you have an agenda here ive seen for days
hope your having fun.

I believe God can use anyone so long as the truth is being preached. If He ordains it, who are we to say no?.

This is not saying that women are first in the order of preaching, no, they are not, but God, as starryfield said can 'ordain' anyone. Man, women, even, gasp!, I know tnis will be weird for some of you traditionalists to hear, 'child.'

Paul speaks of women in the church pew to not teach they are first in the ORDER of hierarchy for church leadership over men, but never , speaking here in particular of 1 Timothy 2:12, does God speak absolutism against women never to teach men or have authority over men in a church . There is an order, Paul goes on to say...

Verse 13 : Adam was formed first then Eve.

So, really, this thread is not about 'order,' I just wanted to establish that context that prayerfully is helpful for you in this thread, and, abide mentioned word 'democracy.'

The thread is about 'the call.' And, should a women, just like a man, answer it?

The answer is 'yes,' isn't it. :)

God bless us all, Christ peeps, as we follow the Way perfect for us in our constant quest to know more of Him, of Life! Of the Truth :)

So, that's it.

Women can't tell people about Jesus, tribers, jimdig, herm, seeallen????

What about 'The Great Commission?'
Can't women be 'called' to go into all the world and TEACH and PREACH the gospel of Jesus Christ ?

Green get over it

Catherine Clark Kroeger has been rejected by most scholars with a brain in their head...

According to the Word of Yahweh, YES!

1Co 1:26 For ye see your calling, brethren, how that not many wise men after the flesh, not many mighty, not many noble, are called:
1Co 1:27 But God hath chosen the foolish things of the world to confound the wise; and God hath chosen the weak things of the world to confound the things which are mighty;
1Co 1:28 And base things of the world, and things which are despised, hath God chosen, yea, and things which are not, to bring to nought things that are:
1Co 1:29 That no flesh should glory in his presence.

One must beware of those who "belong" to Paul and deny women simply because his own practice was not to allow women to have authority, these people are mistaken.

(21Is the law, therefore, opposed to the promises of God? Absolutely not! For if a law had been given that could impart life, then righteousness would certainly have come by the law. 22But the Scripture declares that the whole world is a prisoner of sin, so that what was promised, being given through faith in Jesus Christ, might be given to those who believe. )

http://bible.cc/galatians/3-23.htm
23Before this faith came, we were held prisoners by the law, locked up until faith should be revealed. 24So the law was put in charge to lead us to Christh that we might be justified by faith. 25Now that faith has come, we are no longer under the supervision of the law.

26You are all sons of God through faith in Christ Jesus, 27for all of you who were baptized into Christ have clothed yourselves with Christ. 28There is neither Jew nor Greek, slave nor free, male nor female, for you are all one in Christ Jesus. 29If you belong to Christ, then you are Abraham’s seed, and heirs according to the promise.

Who ordains folks? Your funny little feeling in your stomach? God has revealed something to you?

Thats why the body of Christ is hurting.....people listen to their "gut" instead of scripture.

Oh Joyce Myer's had people get saved at her gatherings. I wonder how many people got saved at jim jones's gatherings.

Being popular and prosperous doesn't prove anything. The porn industry is prosperous and popular but that doesn't make it of God.

So, you voted 'no,' , yes? this then means, eyestoHim, you feel that women are PREACHING to men, believers, non-believers, when they tell them about God, that women are not 'called' by God, it's just a fancy feeling in their gut.

And, since when is a woman's teaching men about Jesus meaning she is having 'authority,' over them, as the Greek word, 'authenteo' is used for 'authority' in 1 Timothy 2:12. 'Authenteo' is a coarse verb, as I said, with 'violent' usage, and 'dominion' (order), 'rule' connotations. Paul and ALL others, even Jesus, I'm assuming, used words 'exousia' and 'hipeiko' and maybe other less HARSH 'authority' words 146 times in the God-inspired books of the NT.

But, ONE TIME, the word 'exousia' or 'hipeiko' or whatever else softer 'authority' word was NOT used, 1 time out of 147 times, the word used was 'authenteo.' And, this word 'has to do with 'violence,' a sexually CHARGED word, some lexicon folk say, but certainly with a meaning to it with DEATH in it, literally, if a 2nd century literature work of Greek writing, Euriphedes' is pulled. HEY, let's face it, in this particular time, these Ephesian women were obviously having a SERIOUS 'man-control' problem. So, authenteo,' in fact means the coarsest form of 'dominion' the word can have. Murder! Paul using this word, 'authenteo' means this church was in diabolical thought even.
'the taking of another's ife with one's own hand.' «« This word, this harsh, harsh meaning word, authenteo,' and, it's root word, 'authente,' said as 'authentikos' by the Greek is SOME wildly vocipherous, vitriolic word. Also, of 'authentes' meaning is 'origination,' which makes perfect sense too because AFTER verse 12 of 1Timothy 2....

I suffer not a woman to teach (origination) or have authority (dominion) over a man, but to be in silence ('peaceable' is the Greek word for 'silence' word, 'hesychias,' or, whatever spelling close to that of Greek word. Then, in verse 13, Paul definitely does not speak of 'dominion' but of 'origin' and this is why women are not to teach they are FIRST.

1 Timothy 2:13 'Adam was formed FIRST then Eve.' «777« Origination .

Making more sense now jimdig, tribers, closetoHim, seeallen, whoever else foots this stance of scripture saying women can't preach????

Therefore, since when is a woman telling/teaching a man about God her having DOMINION over them???

I will tell you all since when. Since 'never.' :)

What? Are we men too stupid to listen to a women tell us about Jesus and think we are being usurped of our power, our authority, the woman teaching us is dominating rule over us? What you're a new believer, and, your going to make a choice to become saved because you are feeling DOMINATED??

Oh , please, grow up, traditionalist MAN, pray for Truth, as has been shown you now...

Yes, indeed, women pastors are called by God now, have been called throughout time, as long as men did not OPPRESS them, thinking God was saying something IN SCRIPTURE, to uphold their own conceived selfish thoughts that God was NEVER really saying.

There's still time to change your mind on this thinking that WILL stunt your rewards in Heaven, we ARE ALL TO PREACH AND TEACH the gospel, as the Lord leads us, singles, marrieds, and, IF you are married out there, pastors, involve your wife in your preaching, your MINISTRY will exponebtially blossom with FRUIT :)

God bless us all, everyone, serving Him through WHATEVER capacity He has 'called' us to serve, teaching, preaching living with/in Him. :)

First of all, we have only one teacher, so no woman is teaching men, nor is any man teaching women. Only the Lord teaches:

But you are not to be called rabbi, for you have one teacher, and you are all brethren. Matt 23:8 RSV

I suspect the Lord calls many women into the ordained ministry.

The Bible (OT & NT) is pretty clear on this topic and why even bother to debate it? Maybe during the Millennial Rule, Jesus will have a change of heart.

I voted no. Paul teaches women should not teach men. I believe this is in a church setting. The only time a women would be allowed to teach in the church, is if there are no men. This is what the bible says. I don't know how clearer it gets.

Isa 50:2
Wherefore, when I came, was there no man? when I called, was there none to answer? Is my hand shortened at all, that it cannot redeem? or have I no power to deliver? behold, at my rebuke I dry up the sea, I make the rivers a wilderness: their fish stinketh, because there is no water, and dieth for thirst.

Another teaching from the New Testament portion of the Book is more than an adequate reply I believe. God takes that which is not to bring down that which is, the weak to bring down the mighty, and so forth..............He does what pleases Him, and what pleases Him should please us, His children....no questions about it.

Deborah was a judge, not a leader of a church.
Priscilla and Acquilas were never said to have led a church. It says they met at their house, not that they led it. There is a difference between preaching, and leading a church. Any women can go on the street and preach. Leading a church is unbiblical for a woman to do though.

Don't get me wrong, if God felt like having a women pastor he could. He won't though, becasue the word of God doesn't permit it. Women can be called to preach, not to lead a church. There is a difference.
