it was spoken to a jew under jewish law3. how does that affect you. ythe law wasnt given to you. and the law never promised salvation. just blessings and curses. hebrews makes it very clear, just as galatians we must not go back to the old covenant. and mixing covenants is not recommended in the parable of the wineskins...
have a great day. romans 14:5,6 allows you to keep a day holy, doesnt mean you should impose the old covenant on people.
What?

This don't make sense?

What law don't promise salvation?

It can be the commandments ?

Jesus said by keeping the commandments You will enter I to life

What law are you talking about be specific

No where in the bible has God's day of rest been changed

This is why I put the dictionarys definition of Sunday Saturday and the sabbath

Who told emperors Constantine to take away the Word of God

Dd not his advisors tell him about these verses

Revelation 22:18-19 (KJV)
For I testify unto every man that heareth the words of the prophecy of this book, If any man shall add unto these things, God shall add unto him the plagues that are written in this book: [19] And if any man shall take away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God shall take away his part out of the book of life, and out of the holy city, and from the things which are written in this book.

Tell me those who keep the first day of the week holy
wull Emperor Consuantine name be written in the book of life?

Will your name be written in the book of life ?

Many in that day will say Lord, I kept every day holy, I kept the first day of the week holy, I kept Friday holy and the Lord will reply depart from me te that worketh iniquity

Matthew 7:22-24 (KJV)
Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works? [23] And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity. [24] Therefore whosoever heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them, I will liken him unto a wise man, which built his house upon a rock:

There people heard the word remember the sabbath day and keep it holy

They did not do it

Some here will say ozell who are you to judge or how do you know some will say this

They say it now
I keep every day holy to God
I go to church every Sunday
I go to bible study every Wednesday or Friday
They are saying it now

What makes you think they won't try it in front of the Lord

We read it says many will come to him in that day

They are in the Lord's presence

C

Let's read it in context
Matthew 19:17-22 (KJV)
And he said unto him, Why callest thou me good? there is none good but one, that is , God: but if thou wilt enter into life, keep the commandments. [18] He saith unto him, Which? Jesus said, Thou shalt do no murder, Thou shalt not commit adultery, Thou shalt not steal, Thou shalt not bear false witness, [19] Honour thy father and thy mother: and, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. [20] The young man saith unto him, All these things have I kept from my youth up: what lack I yet? [21] Jesus said unto him, If thou wilt be perfect, go and sell that thou hast, and give to the poor, and thou shalt have treasure in heaven: and come and follow me. [22] But when the young man heard that saying, he went away sorrowful: for he had great possessions.

C

Still te question was asked as answered

Question
what must I do to get eternal life?

Answer
If you want to enter into life
Keep the commandments

Jeremiah 11 3 Tell them that this is what the LORD, the God of Israel, says: 'Cursed is the man who does not obey the terms of this covenant--

Galatians 3 10 All who rely on observing the law are under a curse, for it is written: "Cursed is everyone who does not continue to do everything written in the Book of the Law."

2 Corinthians 3 9 If the ministry that condemns men is glorious, how much more glorious is the ministry that brings righteousness!

Galatians 3 21 Is the law, therefore, opposed to the promises of God? Absolutely not! For if a law had been given that could impart life, then righteousness would certainly have come by the law.

Galatians 1 No Other Gospel
6I am astonished that you are so quickly deserting the one who called you by the grace of Christ and are turning to a different gospel— 7which is really no gospel at all. Evidently some people are throwing you into confusion and are trying to pervert the gospel of Christ. 8But even if we or an angel from heaven should preach a gospel other than the one we preached to you, let him be eternally condemned! 9As we have already said, so now I say again: If anybody is preaching to you a gospel other than what you accepted, let him be eternally condemned!

I need to head over to the topic to see of you responded

The answer is not in the passage

The man kept the commandments but he chose his wealth over following Jesus

Do it say the man will not get eternal life?

Report me for questioning or putting God's word and you not being able to answer

If its God's will

What is the Gospel?

Keep in mind C

There was no NT written when Jesus and the apostles walked with Jesus and sometime after?

So again what is the Gospel?

What covenant was broken ?

What covenant broken made man cursed?

C

How was Jesus hung on the tree when he kept the covenant?

Galatians 3:13 (KJV)
Christ hath redeemed us from the curse of the law, being made a curse for us: for it is written, Cursed is every one that hangeth on a tree:

Is Jesus cursed?

Why is he hung on the tree?

Galatians 3:10,14 (KJV)
For as many as are of the works of the law are under the curse: for it is written, Cursed is every one that continueth not in all things which are written in the book of the law to do them. [14] That the blessing of Abraham might come on the Gentiles through Jesus Christ; that we might receive the promise of the Spirit through faith.

Paul is telling us to keep the law?

If you don't you are cursed.

Notice it says the word might in the verse

This lets us know that you may or may not receive the promise

The topic is about the sabbath

Cursed is the man who don't keep the sabbath

The sabbath is part of the law, correct.

Let's read Jeremiah

Jeremiah 11:3-4 (KJV)
And say thou unto them, Thus saith the Lord God of Israel; Cursed be the man that obeyeth not the words of this covenant, [4] Which I commanded your fathers in the day that I brought them forth out of the land of Egypt, from the iron furnace, saying, Obey my voice, and do them, according to all which I command you: so shall ye be my people, and I will be your God:

No interpretation needed

Cursed is the man who keep not the sabbath

Te sabbath is part of the law

Let's look at the curse Paul and Jeremiah speak of

Deuteronomy 27:1,10,14-26 (KJV)
And Moses with the elders of Israel commanded the people, saying, Keep all the commandments which I command you this day.

[10] Thou shalt therefore obey the voice of the Lord thy God, and do his commandments and his statutes, which I command thee this day.

[14] And the Levites shall speak, and say unto all the men of Israel with a loud voice,

[15] Cursed be the man that maketh any graven or molten image, an abomination unto the Lord , the work of the hands of the craftsman, and putteth it in a secret place . And all the people shall answer and say, Amen.

[16] Cursed be he that setteth light by his father or his mother. And all the people shall say, Amen.

[17] Cursed be he that removeth his neighbour's landmark. And all the people shall say, Amen.

[18] Cursed be he that maketh the blind to wander out of the way. And all the people shall say, Amen.

[19] Cursed be he that perverteth the judgment of the stranger, fatherless, and widow. And all the people shall say, Amen.

[20] Cursed be he that lieth with his father's wife; because he uncovereth his father's skirt. And all the people shall say, Amen.

[21] Cursed be he that lieth with any manner of beast. And all the people shall say, Amen.

[22] Cursed be he that lieth with his sister, the daughter of his father, or the daughter of his mother. And all the people shall say, Amen. [23] Cursed be he that lieth with his mother in law. And all the people shall say, Amen.

[24] Cursed be he that smiteth his neighbour secretly. And all the people shall say, Amen.

[25] Cursed be he that taketh reward to slay an innocent person. And all the people shall say, Amen.

[26] Cursed be he that confirmeth not all the words of this law to do them. And all the people shall say, Amen.

This is the curses that a man can do

Notice they fit the commandments

How did Jesus get hung on a tree when he did not break the law?

This is the curses that we have to not have come upon us

Can these be done today

Yes

Galatians 5:19-21 (KJV)
Now the works of the flesh are manifest, which are these ; Adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness,

[20] Idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, variance, emulations, wrath, strife, seditions, heresies,

[21] Envyings, murders, drunkenness, revellings, and such like: of the which I tell you before, as I have also told you in time past, that they which do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God.

This works of the flesh is the same thing that got peOple cursed

Let's use common sense

Will a person who kills get into God's kingdom?

What about a person who commits adultery?

Will a man who has another God before Jesus get into the kingdom?

Unless that person repents. No

The bible says a liar will not be in God's kingdom

Is God a respective of persons

No

a sabbath breaker cannot get into the kingdom unless he repent

How can the cursed get into the kingdom

Let's read Galatians Again

If you keep the 1st day of the week and not the 7th day of the week how could you
Have contiinued in all things written that the Lord said do

Galatians 3:10 (KJV)
For as many as are of the works of the law are under the curse: for it is written, Cursed is every one that continueth not in all things which are written in the book of the law to do them.

In the book of the law the Lord said

Exodus 20:8 (KJV)
Remember the sabbath day, to keep it holy.

Look at the 10 commanents and the curses in Deut 27 again

Those cursed fit one of the 10 commanents

See lets get away from emotions and doctrine of denominations lets read the bible

The Lord had a man stoned for polluting the sabbath

Picking up sticks on the sabbath

On judgement day if the Lord has changed his law concerning the sabbath then this man who was stoned
Has a legitimate beef to pick with the Lord

He got stoned for breaking it and nowadays it don't matter?

This man was stoned for picking up sticks(probably for firewood) we don't know

Yet today you can cut your grass and do your own pleasure

When did God change his sabbath?

Why would God have a man killed and God knows everything, knowing that he would change his sabbath years down into the future

None sense

The Lord spoke to you?
Yes, and if i am lying, let me die a long and horrible painful death, and let my mother die a long, suffering agonizing death. Also if i am lying let it be known forever that i am a liar, and the Word of God stands True, that ALL LIARS shall burn in the lake of fire and brimstone (Rev 21:8)

The Lord speaks to us in these days by his words
This is True, but you say that as if that is the ONLY way God is able to communicate to His children. God can do whatever God chooses to do, Does God change? Is He not the same today, yesterday, and forever? God communicates through, animals, plants, fire, air, visions, dreams, other people, the Word of God, Through His Holy Ghost, and yes, the old fashion way also, by His Voice.

How is that you get to hear God's voice ?
i really don't know, i have asked Him this several times, and He always replies the same, "I choose whom I will choose." i think it has something to do with my mom, though. She was called to be a nun, and she was planning to do it, when she fell in love with my dad, she feeling so guilty about not doing what she felt God wanted her to do that she prayed to God saying that she will dedicate her firstborn son to Him. That son was me. Not that has anything to do with why God chose me, but it might.

Deuteronomy 4:32-33 (KJV)
For ask now of the days that are past, which were before thee, since the day that God created man upon the earth, and ask from the one side of heaven unto the other, whether there hath been any such thing as this great thing is , or hath been heard like it? [33] Did ever people hear the voice of God speaking out of the midst of the fire, as thou hast heard, and live?

Only israel has heard the voice of God
How is it that you know God are you israel
yes, as a matters of fact i am, i am a descendant of one of the twelve tribes of Israel.

Romans 2:28 For he is not a Jew, which is one outwardly; neither is that circumcision, which is outward in the flesh: 29 But he is a Jew, which is one inwardly; and circumcision is that of the heart, in the spirit, and not in the letter; whose praise is not of men, but of God.

So yes, i am a Israel.

Also

If man is not judged by his actions which includes sin why is there a judgment day

Revelation 20:12 (KJV)
And I saw the dead, small and great, stand before God; and the books were opened: and another book was opened, which is the book of life: and the dead were judged out of those things which were written in the books, according to their works.
i do not know why you have written this to me, man IS judged by their works, i have said no differently

When a man works is stealing or commuting adultery or whoerwdom and he repent not
if he repents not, he will not enter into the Kingdom of Heaven. Likewise any brothers or sisters who claims to be Christians yet continue to commit adultery (cheating on spouse, looking at other people with lust i.e. Porn ) and do not repent and CEASE from those things likewise will not enter into the Kingdom of Heaven, this is according to the Word of God, not according to me.

What will he judged on?
On Judgement Day, we are going to be judged by our works. Not by what sins you have committed, how many sins you committed, nor what sins you haven't committed. What will be judged is how much you have love others.

  • Have you helped the needy
  • Give to charities
  • Feed the hungry
  • Give money to the poor
  • Helped the homeless
  • Visit those in prison
  • Visit the sick
  • Volunteer your time to something that helps others
What have you done for others? this is what is going to be judged, and likewise, also what you have failed to do, when you had the opportunity to help. These are the works that will be judged on Judgement Day. How much you have LOVED OTHERS.

The Ten Commandments are a summary of the Old Covenant
Exodus 34:28 “So he was there with the Lord forty days and forty nights. He neither ate bread nor drank water. And he wrote on the tablets the word of the covenant, the Ten Commandments.
Exodus 31:18 “And he gave to Moses when he had finished speaking with him on Mount Sinai, the two tablets of the testimony, tablets of stone, written with the finger of God.
Deut 4:13 “And he declared to you his covenant, which he commanded you to perform, that is, the Ten Commandments, and he wrote them on two tablets of stone”.
Deut 9:9 “When I went up the mountain to receive the tablets of stone, the tablets of the covenant that the Lord made with you.”
Deut 9:11 “And at the end of forty days and forty nights the Lord gave me the two tablets of stone, the tablets of the covenant.”
The Old Covenant was an agreement between God and Israel, not God and Christians
Ex 31:12-17 And the Lord said to Moses, “You are to speak to the people of Israel and say, ‘Above all you shall keep my Sabbaths, for this is a sign between me and you throughout your generations, that you may know that I, the Lord, sanctify you. You shall keep the Sabbath, because it is holy to you. Everyone who profanes it shall be put to death. Whoever does any work on it, that soul shall be cut off from among his people. Six days shall work be done, but the seventh day is a Sabbath of solemn rest, holy to the Lord. Whoever does any work on the Sabbath day shall be put to death. Therefore the people of Israel shall keep the Sabbath, observing the Sabbath throughout their generations, as a covenant forever. It is a sign forever between me and the people of Israel that in six days the Lord made heaven and earth, and on the seventh day he rested and was refreshed.”
The Old Covenant is no longer in effect for ANYONE
Heb 8:13-9:4 In speaking of a new covenant, he makes the first one obsolete. And what is becoming obsolete and growing old is ready to vanish away. Now even the first covenant had regulations for worship and an earthly place of holiness. For a tent was prepared, the first section, in which were the lampstand and the table, and the bread of the Presence. It is called the Holy Place. Behind the second curtain was a second section called the Most Holy Place, having the golden altar of incense and the ark of the covenant covered on all sides with gold, in which was a golden urn holding the manna, and Aaron’s staff that budded, and the tablets of the covenant.
Gal 3:17 This is what I mean: the law, which came 430 years afterwards, does not annul a covenant previously ratified by God, so as to make the promise void.
Gal 3:19 Why then the law? It was added because of transgressions, until the offspring should come to whom the promise had been made, and it was put in place through angels by an intermediary.
Gal 3:24 So the law was our guardian until Christ came, in order that we might be justified by faith
Gal 3:25 But now that faith is come, we are no longer under a guardian
2 Cor 3:4-18 Such is the confidence that we have through Christ toward God. Not that we are sufficient in ourselves to claim anything as coming from us, but our sufficiency is from God, who has made us sufficient to be ministers of a new covenant, not of the letter but of the Spirit. For the letter kills, but the Spirit gives life. Now if the ministry of death, carved in letters on stone, came with such glory that the Israelites could not gaze at Moses’ face because of its glory, which was being brought to an end, will not the ministry of the Spirit have even much more glory? For if there was glory in the ministry of condemnation, the ministry of righteousness must far exceed it in glory. Indeed, in this case, what once had glory has come to have no glory at all, because of the glory that surpasses it. For if what was being brought to an end came with glory, much more will what is permanent have glory. Since we have such a hope, we are very bold, not like Moses, who would put a veil over his face so that the Israelites might not gaze at the outcome of what was being brought to an end. But their minds were hardened. For to this day, when they read the old covenant, that same veil remains unlifted, because only through Christ is it taken away. Yes, to this day whenever Moses is read a veil lies over their hearts. But when one turns to the Lord, the veil is removed. Now the Lord is the Spirit, and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom. And we all with unveiled face, beholding the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from one degree of glory to another. For this comes from the Lord who is the Spirit.
The Sabbath, as part of the Old Covenant, is not in affect for ANYONE
Gal 4:10 You observe days and months and seasons and years! I am afraid I may have labored over you in vain.
Rom 14:5-6 One person esteems one day as better than another, while another esteems all days alike. Each one should be fully convinced in his own mind.
Col 2:16-17 Therefore let no one pass judgment on you in questions of food and drink, or with regard to a festival or a new moon or a Sabbath. These are a shadow of the things to come, but the substance belongs to Christ
Jesus is our Sabbath or spiritual rest, and we enter into that spiritual rest by placing our faith in Him
Matt 11:28-30 Come to me, all who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and lean from me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls.
Heb 4:1-8 Therefore, while the promise of entering his rest still stands, let us fear lest any of you should seem to have failed to reach it. For good news came to us just as to them, but the message they heard did not benefit them, because they were not united by faith with those who listened. For we who have believed enter that rest, as he has said, “As I swore in my wrath, They shall not enter my rest. “ although his works were finished from the foundation of the world. For he has somewhere spoken of the seventh day in this way: “And God rested on the seventh day from all his works.” And again in this passage he said, “They shall not enter my rest.”. Since therefore it remains for some to enter it, and those who formerly received the good news failed to enter because of disobedience, again he appoints a certain day, “Today”, saying through David so long afterward, in the words already quoted. “Today, if you hear his voice, do not harden your hearts.” For if Joshua had not given them rest, God would not have spoken of another day later on. So then there remains a Sabbath rest for the people of God, for whoever has entered God’s rest has also rested from is works as God did from his. Let us therefore strive to enter that rest, so that no one may fall by the same sort of disobedience.
Christians are under the New Covenant, which has much higher demands and different commandments
Luke 22:20 And likewise the cup after they had eaten, saying, “This cup that is poured out for you is the new covenant in my blood.”
Heb 9:15 Therefore, he is the mediator of a new covenant, so that those who are called may receive the promised eternal inheritance, since a death has occurred that redeems them from the transgressions committed under the first covenant.
Jn 13:34 A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another: just as I have loved you, you also are to love one another.
Jn 15:12 This is my commandment, that you love one another as I have loved you.
Jn 15:17 These things I command you, so that you will love one another
Rom 13:10 Love does no wrong to a neighbor; therefore love is the fulfilling of the law.
I am a former Sabbathkeeper due to my association as a new believer with Worldwide Church of God (now called Grace Communion International). Worldwide Church of God came to realize in 1995 that Christians are under the New Covenant, and not the Old Covenant, and the Sabbath does not apply to Christians under the New Covenant. It was a sign of the Old Covenant (like baptism and the Lord’s Supper are signs of the New Covenant), and is not a moral absolute like Sabbathkeepers claim. Sabbathkeeping doctrine invariably takes the focus off the true gospel, which is about Jesus Christ and salvation by grace through faith in Him (Eph 2:8-9). As a Sabbathkeeper, I rarely heard messages about God’s grace and love; the message of such organizations invariably focuses on the Sabbath. Jesus Christ was also placed on the backburner and was not the focus of their teaching. If you would like good sources of information in regards to the Sabbath check out Grace Communion International’s website at https://www.gci.org/law I now attend an Evangelical Free church that focuses on Jesus Christ and salvation through Him, which is the true gospel.
