When Paul read that it was wrong to covet....do you think he put every ounce of effort NOT to covet?

And what about those that he preached to? Do you think he also told them to do their best at not coveting?

.
ECC 12 and 13 I really say this in love in fact I had requested you even as a friend. It's not that we try our best is that we die to trying in our flesh because we cannot achieve righteousness on our own. Now when we continually acknowledge that, being truthful and Giving God the Glory we can be content with what we have because frankly in Christ we have it all but this wasn't a result of us trying our best it was a result of putting on Christ and thus not gratifying the flesh and it's desires. It was Christ in us!

Blessings

I believe that the bible teaches us to love god with all ur heart soul and mind, So with that said if you love him that much thru action you dont have to worry about breaking the laws.
the laws became spiritual in the new covenant.
How ever if you know Ur not suppose to do something hold fast to whats good in gods eyes.
It is hard that's why we have to stay firm on prayer, reading the bible asking god to forgive our sins.

Here ya go

Galatians 3:10-14

10 For as many as are of the works of the law are under the curse: for it is written, Cursed is every one that continueth NOT in all things which are written in the book of the law to do them.

11 But that NO man is justified by the law in the sight of God, it is evident: for, The just shall live by FAITH.

12 And THE LAW IS NOT OF FAITH: but, The man that doeth them shall live in them.

13 Christ hath redeemed us from the curse of the law, being made a curse for us: for it is written, Cursed is every one that hangeth on a tree:

14 That the blessing of Abraham might come on the Gentiles through Jesus Christ; that we might receive the promise of the Spirit through faith.

Where above does God tell man not to keep His laws, or that man is to keep His laws perfectly to enter into His kingdom, or that keeping His laws brings death?

God's laws does not clear man of his sins. They NEVER did. The only thing that could justify, or clear man of his sins, is the blood of Christ.

The problem is that most are not aware that Paul speaks of TWO sets of laws throughout his writings. The one set that we are no longer under...the set that needed works and were nailed to His cross. And the other set ALL mankind must do their best to keep.

That's not true at all. If you falsely believe that then you will have to be subject to the distorted truth that Jesus came to fulfil some of the law and not all of it.

Which part is it that you do not believe is true? Which law was nailed to His cross? Which law are we no longer obligated to keep?

people miss use the word grace as a license to sin.
We all sin but we have to stay away from sin.

ALL of the laws that were given to Moses was nailed to His cross? ALL of them? How can that be when Jesus tells us what is needed for eternal life?

Matt.19
[16] And, behold, one came and said unto him, Good Master, what good thing shall I do, that I may have eternal life?
[17] And he said unto him, Why callest thou me good? there is none good but one, that is, God: but if thou wilt enter into life, keep the commandments.
[18] He saith unto him, Which? Jesus said, Thou shalt do no murder, Thou shalt not commit adultery, Thou shalt not steal, Thou shalt not bear false witness,
[19] Honour thy father and thy mother: and, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.

So I can mentally think of sleeping with a woman and that would be a sin, but physically sleeping with her would be alright?

God's laws are more than just spiritual....we must physically NOT commit sins as well

Again said this before it's not that Law (10 commandments) is now abolished, after all they continue to lead countless people to this day to Christ. It is the life that applied to the 10 commandments that dead and are to continue to be counted dead. This takes back to afull circle as I have explained being dead to sin and alive to Christ is after the Law of Christ which is the Law that I
parts life.

I agree, the commandments stand but jesus took them further, so in reality, its both.
See when I try and explain the laws, to people they jump up saying well paul said this, but in order to understand paul we have to read the entire bible, and read the book of paul a few times to really understand, because when you read the book of paul in context, it blends in perfect with what jeus said.

You throw out all of these scriptures without knowing the TRUE meaning. This is another topic...but I ask to prove a point.....

Can you tell me something a TRUE born again being will be able to do that NONE of those that claim to be born again now can do?

.
Yep LOVE AS CHRIST LOVED. A person not born again cannot love as Christ loves only those born of God are able since they have died to the inability to love on their own.

When we read Colossians 2:10-15

10 And ye are complete in him, which is the head of all principality and power:

11 In whom also ye are circumcised with the circumcision made without hands, in putting off the body of the sins of the flesh by the circumcision of Christ:

12 Buried with him in baptism, wherein also ye are risen with him through the faith of the operation of God, who hath raised him from the dead.

13 And you, being dead in your sins and the uncircumcision of your flesh, hath he quickened together with him, having forgiven you all trespasses;

14 Blotting out the handwriting of ordinances that was against us, which was contrary to us, and took it out of the way, nailing it to his cross;

15 And having spoiled principalities and powers, he made a shew of them openly, triumphing over them in it.

We see that Paul states the handwritten ordinances were blotted out and nailed to the cross He is referring to the death of the do's and don'ts that applied to the man after the flesh which was provoked by the 10 commandments. Since we have been crucified Christ it was the enmity that was abolished Ephesians 2:15. What enmity? The enmity derived from the curse that we are to obey God's Laws. The bondage to obey the do's and don'ts in a body that is provoked by them. Example: Once we understand not to covet our members are aroused to covet. We are bound to break the Law because we have been sold unto sin but Christ has now redeemed us and he nailed the enmity the handwritten ordinances which are the do's and don'ts of the Law on the cross. But noticed it's the do's and don'ts which is the enmity that is nailed not the actual Law but this NOW means we are still to abide in the 10 commandments and obey them in the flesh? NO because the life that pertain to that bondage and was cursed in being condemned for not obeying them fully is now dead. We are now united in Jesus' death and we resurrected with Him a new creation. I no longer live says Paul I am dead to the Law Christ lives in me the hope of glory. NOW THIS IS WHERE THE CONFUSION COMES FROM: MANY SAY THE LAW WAS NAILED AND ABOLISHED BUT IT WASN'T THE LAW (10 COMMANDMENTS)THAT WAS ABOLISHED THE LAW OF GOD IS ETERNAL. IT WAS THE MAN TO WHOM THE LAW APPLIED THAT IS NOW CRUCIFIED WITH CHRIST THAT IS NOW DEAD AND DOES NOT OBEY AFTER THE LETTER (THE 10 COMMANDMENTS) BUT AFTER THE SPIRIT. THE LAW OF CHRIST IS WHAT CONTINUES TO GIVE US LIFE AS WE ARE DYING TO OUR SELFISHNESS, PRIDE AND PASSIONS AND DESIRES THAT WE MAY LOVE OTHERS THE WAY CHRIST DID WHICH WAS TO DEATH. JOHN 15:13 (I SPOKE ABOUT THIS BEFORE) HERE'S A REPOST:

God wants to enlarge our hearts (Psalm 119:32). The love of God has been poured out in our hearts but it still requires that we ask God to enlarge our hearts daily since we are constantly battling with our flesh. We know that Love is the fulfillment of the law and Paul was a prime example of how God enlarged his heart throughout his ministry and how God also longs to enlarge ours as well. (Philippians 1:7, 2 Corinthians 6:1-13; 11:24-28) We are knitted together in love (Colossians 2:2) just as David and Jonathan were knitted or united together in love so should the Body of Christ be in the same way. We are each others joy, crown and glory (1 Thessalonians 2:19-20). We live to see others firm in Christ! (1 Thessalonians 3:8) Christ gave us the Law of Christ John 13:34-35 and John 15:12. We are to love as HE LOVED us which was a sacrificial love. Jesus said "Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends." John 15:13 There are many that have literally laid down their lives for others for the sake of the Gospel mostly in 3rd world countries but prior to that ultimate act of love they were already dying to self/flesh carrying their cross and loving others despite being insulted by them, taken advantaged of, beaten on etc. yet winning some of them over for the sake of the Gospel. Again "Jesus said Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends." We do just that when we abide in Christ and live and walk after the spirit. Choosing to love the unlovable, the homeless, the poor, the sick, those imprisoned etc. This is done by walking as Jesus walked which was spirit not flesh. "By this shall all men know that ye are my disciples, if ye have love one to another." John 13:35

"This is the covenant that I will make with them after those days, says the Lord, I will put My laws into their hearts, and in their minds will I write them," Heb. 10:16

This Scripture in Hebrews was spoken and written from what the Lord prophesied and said in Jer. 31:33-34 - "-----After those days, I will put my law in their inward parts and write it in their hearts, and will be their God, and they shall be my people." Verse 34, "And they shall teach no more every man his neighbor, and every man his brother, saying, know the Lord: for they shall all know Me, from the least of them unto the greatest of them, says the Lord for I will forgive their iniquity and I will remember their sin no more."

If you love jesus you will keep his commandments, and if you break one then the holy spirit will make you feel really bad , and it will break you down, make you want to get on Ur knees and ask for forgiveness. as it happens. and if you dont feel bad maybe just maybe Ur really not saved.
cause god does not lie. you cant not be a Carnal christian. Ur actions have to reflect Ur Faith.
Peace and love.

The Law written in our hearts are not the same written on stone bro the Law written in our hearts is the Law of Christ. As for the commandments to keep it's not referring to the 10 commandments but the Law of Christ stated in John 13:34-35. Taken into context this is what commandments Jesus was referring to hence why He stated My commandments. Check out John 15:10 where here Jesus clearly shows how HE KEPT HIS FATHER's COMMANDS which were the 10 commandments perfectly and that we are to abide in His (Jesus) Love by keeping His (Jesus) commandments which is the Law of Christ.

To those reading this post consider this......

It was the breaking of just one of God's laws that caused man to need to be justified, or cleared of sins, to need a redeemer, to need an advocate, to need a SAVIOR!

And what did man need to be saved from? Man needed to be saved from dying the second death, which is burning in the lake of fire. Because had Jesus not shed His blood for the sins of man, man would have had to die for his own sins. And again, it is not the natural death God's word is speaking about...it is the second death, the burning in the lake of fire death.

So....once the first man sinned the ONLY way for him to be able to have a right to the tree of life was through the shedding of Jesus blood.

So the act that caused all of this was one man transgressing one law; Sin!

After man began to populate the earth, God realized that man was not following His guidelines. Man was getting increasingly evil. Man continued to break God's laws. So much so that it grieved God that He even made man. What we have next is God finding one family that was doing His will. God found one family that was keeping His laws. To this family God gave the commandment to build an ark and to preach His words until the ark was completed. So this man preached and built the ark. For over 100 years God's word was preached to mankind. Mankind did not listen. God sealed the man and the animals into the ark. And God destroyed every air breaking being upon the earth.

And what was the act that caused God to kill every air breathing being upon the face of the earth? The transgressing of His laws; Sin!

After man started to repopulate the earth again, the same thing started happen. Man continued to break God's laws and commandments. This time it was again to the point that God was willing to kill ALL of mankind and start over with one of His servants. But the servant of the Lord asked that God take his life and spare mankind. At this point God did not want to continue destroying His creation so He gave man a set of laws that would allow their lives to be spared. The set of laws that were given were done so because mankind continued to break God's laws and commandments. This law was ADDED to God's already existing laws. This law that was added because of transgressions would allow the blood of bulls and goats to take the place of mans blood. This law that was added was only to be around for a short time. This law that substituted animals blood for mans blood was to give man hope. It was to be their schoolmaster until another that would come shed His blood for ALL of mankind.

And again, the act that caused God to add a set of laws to His already existing laws was transgression; Sin!

Now that God set up His added law.....the only thing man had to do was to have faith in the one that would come. When He arrived there would be no need to kill bulls and goats for the remission of sins. When He arrived the set of laws that was added would cease. When He arrived the mankind would no longer need a schoolmaster, for that set of laws (the schoolmaster) would end at the cross.

And so mankind waited for the one that would put an end to the law that was added because of transgression; or Sin!

And now that the one has arrived and gave us His grace, ending the need for the laws of the killing of bulls and goats, do we continue to transgress God's OTHER laws? The OTHER laws being the ones that mankind continued to break thus needing the laws of animal sacrifice.

This brings us back to the beginning; Do we continue to break laws that caused man to need to be justified, or cleared of sins, to need a redeemer, to need an advocate, to need a SAVIOR!

Do we?

It was the breaking of God's laws that caused man to be denied the right to the tree of life...thus needing a savior.

Let's now read just 2 scriptures. The first tells man what actions, if committed, will NOT allow him to enter into God's kingdom;

Rev.22
[15] For without are dogs, and sorcerers, and whoremongers, and murderers, and idolaters, and whosoever loveth and maketh a lie.

Those that commit the above acts are sinners.

Now let's read what God's word tell us will ALLOW man into God's kingdom;

Rev.22
[14] Blessed are they that do his commandments, that they may have right to the tree of life, and may enter in through the gates into the city.

Readers....the choice is yours. God has put before us life and death. I pray most choose life!

Keep God's commandments!
