I know one turnoff for me is when I encounter "the bitter nice guy." Now, I am NOT saying I don't like nice guys and I'm certainly not trying to tell nice guys to stop being nice, but it goes something like this: The Ultimate Nice Guy Insists On Telling Everyone Just How Nice He Is.

For example: "I'm SSSUUUCCCHHH a nice guy, I bring women flowers and open doors and remember birthdays and anniversaries... I'm so much better than Bad Boy X over there, and unlike Loser Guy X right here, I actually listen to women and I actually care. But yet women just seem to never see How Nice of a Guy I Am and I don't understand because they should be Crawling All Over Me but instead they pick some Loser Jerk who is Obviously Not Nearly As Nice As I Am. All women want is jerks anyway... Women only care about looks and money and material things so surely A Nice Guy Like Me doesn't stand a chance, whoa is me!! What's a Nice Guy like me to do??!!"

I think you get the picture. To me, it's like the Pharisee and the Tax Collector... Except the Nice Guy has become the person who is so totally interested in how nice he is and even more interested in telling everyone what a Great Guy He Is... that suddenly, he just doesn't seem all that nice anymore.

Now again, I LIKE nice guys. But the nice guy who is so self-absorbed with his own niceness is just as much of a turnoff as the other guys that the nice guy is criticizing.

Hmm, that seems more like arrogance than whiny. i've come across many guys full of themselves. I use to have a friend like that, drove me nuts.

one statement I do not like is " Nice guys finish last"..... bunch of baloney!!!!!
