You can tell a lot about a guy by the way he treats his mom. I think the problem comes in when the mom takes advantage of the son and manipulates him/interferes in his relationships, but I would never be rude enough to call someone a momma's boy.

Perhaps his mom was there for him when his woman wasn't?

As much as it really annoys me when my mum tries to 'mother' me, and it really does, she's always been there when nobody else has.

Well some of us are proud to be called Mama's Boys. :)

Why do women perceive men as emotionally incompetent, whenever restraint of emotion is what we see as the most valuable emotional tool?

Why do women never pick what they want to do on a date, then tell their friends said date was something really 'lame' that they didn't want to do?

Why do women talk to their friends about their relationship issues, generally before they approach their man, by which stage their perception of the incident(s) are often irreversibly skewed beyond what they originally were?

Why do women spend time developing the innate ability to capture a man's attention, yet become bored when he gives her too much attention?

There's probably more ...

I hope my son feels like these guys :D;) I do try not to interfere in his life though..

Why do women not specify details when referring to something? Eg. They might say, "put that over there" and wave their hand in some general direction, instead of saying, "put that jug over by the sink" etc.

Why do so many women get snarky when you open the door to a building for them or offer your seat to them on a bus?

Why can women complain about all men to their girlfriends and go on a tirade about hating them but men can't respectfully complain (not the right word, I know) about women without being labelled a misogynist?

I'm usually specific, but sometimes when my brain is thinking about too many things (you do know that women tend to multi task, don't you?) I might be just forgetting what the thing is called etc.. hehe..

oh, some women still appreciate that kind of gesture :) personally, I can do everything myself. but when a man opens a door for me or offers me a seat, hey, it is nice! LOL

I don't know about the third question.. maybe as a man, you're expected to know how to handle things by yourself? no idea.. but I'd tend to think "hey, guys aren't the smartest creature sometimes" hehe.. sorry :p

I'm sorry, Nike. Men may find it more difficult than women to make close friends and share of themselves with others, but men value and need friendship (and venting time) just as much as women. Women generally seem to get support from their girlfriends, while men generally have to be really transparent to get anyone to listen and try to understand what they're going through. I guess women are (generally) more nurturing than men.

#1. maybe because men often forget to show empathy when you hold your emotions :)
I don't like it when a guy cries (well, I don't wanna cry when anyone else can see me cry) but I do appreciate empathy because that means you show off some heart..

#2. for me, it's because I don't know what the guy can afford while I don't wanna embarrass/insult him by choosing something not suitable. I also don't wanna make the wrong impression. so for me, it would be easier if the guy comes up with options I can choose :D it's fair enough, isn't it?
but if your question above really happened, I think that's kinda childish on the girl's side..

#3. because they wanna be sure if it's right to feel the way they feel or think the way they think.. women are wired differently, as you know :) but I think it happens less as they mature (well, hopefully that's right)

#4. too much is not good :D

yeah, I do understand that.. hehe.. I personally got too many ears to listen (and I do find it easier to listen to guys venting than girls venting).. just not many girls think that way :)

The first two are fair enough. But the third makes no sense (to me). Because women who have these emotional responses and go and talk to their friends, are showing that they care what the man thinks. However, a woman need also know, that there is no emotion that's invalid, to me. If you have an emotion there, I want to hear it exactly how it feels and exactly how it is. Because I can't have a relationship, a real, close, loving relationship with you, if your emotions are actually your friends emotions and you need them to validate it before you come to me with a problem. That means that the very emotional responses I'm getting, aren't completely yours. I'm having a relationship with your friends.

yeah, I feel you :)
that's why I said it happened less as they mature :)

Why can't some women learn from this girl?

jk = joking. It's a joke.

Yeah I saw the JK, but still wondered if there was truth to it. But anyways, this thread is about men's questions, and not women's, so I'll stop derailing.

LOL
and then the boy would go home and "mom, dad, can we move out of this neighborhood? that girl scares me" :D

I have a list longer than my arm.

Why do women feel intent on having 'the perfect man', whenever they are generally much too un-confident to feel like they can keep him? I've heard about that complain a lot, but I don't personally know any woman who is waiting fo the perfect man, neither am I waiting for a perfect man. I'm just waiting for someone who loves God, and loves me for who I am. I have my standards, and I won't compromise on things like faith or maturity, but I don't think I hold an impossible standard.

Why do women hate eating so much, but love food so much? Who doesn't love food!!? :) I think that when we women say things like ''I hate eating so much!'' is because of our fear of gettin fat and looking unattractive.

Why do women desire a man who is 'manly', but get all feminist when he acts 'manly'? It depends on what you think ''manly'' means. Being manly for some men means being unaffectionate towards their wives or children in front of people, or for some it means being aggressive and drinking beer when they get home. I don't think that's manliness, just immaturity. I don't have a problem with manliness, I think a man has a right to express his manliness just as I have the right to express my feminity. I like manly men personally, but not immature boys.

Why do women find it impossible to believe that their man sees them as beautiful? Insecurity. We see the standard of beauty the media and the world holds and then we look at ourselves in the mirror and we see the obvious : we don't measure up. It's not an excuse, it's actually dumb, but that's probably one of the common reasons.

Why do women who are the most crazy about 'equality', tend to expect to be treated in the most high fashion? I'm all for equality, but I don't wanna be treated like a damsel in distress.I'm a complementarian, I believe men and women are equal before God, but not the same. When we put one gender on a pedestal while the other is being constantly bashed, equality ceases to exist. I don't expect to be treated in the most high fashion, but I do appreciate acts of chilvary.I don't expect to be treated as fragile china either.

When girls asks questions like - How do I look? Or... do you think I look beautiful.. Do you want an honest answer?

I actually had a moment yesterday when I could not understand why I had offended a girl... it was so strange. So weird... two completely different planets.
