The bible actually documents 6,000 years of time, because this was the time in which God created actual mankind in his image and likeness. When it says " in the beginning," it means, the beginning of mankind as we know it. The " sea " in Genesis actually means a multitude of people and nations. The book of Job is a nicely detailed book about the creation of the world, as that talks about the sun cycle, water cycle, core of the earth, etc etc. Proverbs talks about the foundations of Heaven being set in place, and the horizon being laid out.
Can you please clarify what you mean by that sentence? What is "mankind as we know it", and what was it before?

Most certainly is, scripture speaks to this truth.
If you interpret it as so. However if you look at evidence, it all points to an earth that is roughly 4.5 billion years old, which you can ignore but that doesn't mean it's not there.

It would not merely be interpretation.

Evidence is assembled within a presupposition. I do not ignore what secular theories teach, it is vital to understand them as best as possible.

I just recognize some of the major problems with the current assembly.

Wow, no it's not.

The thing I don't think people realize is if a scientist came up with substantial evidence supporting an earth that is only 6000 years old, they'd become famous. They would go down in history. That would be an absolute break through in science. The thing is there is no evidence supporting an earth that is 6000 years old. If there was then this would be an entirely different conversation.

Fallenangel, that's some pretty trippy stuff that you're saying. It's perfectly clear when genres change within the books of the bible. Not everything is metaphorical or symbolic of something. I believe The beginning of Genesis is a poetic historical narrative (in that it was written as history but in the form of Hebrewaic poetry). Most of Genesis though, is purely historical narrative. I believe in dinosaurs but not neanderthals or billions of years. You're conforming the Word to your beliefs. Don't make it say something it doesn't, that's dangerous.

Where is your evidence of this, Jimmy?
The Bible.

Did not Jesus refer to the first marriage of Adam & Eve? That was Jesus validating Genesis over a science so falsely called.

And remember: Jesus was there. He ought to know.

I'm not claiming that Genesis, or any of the other 20+ Biblical creation accounts are incorrect.

I'm claiming that people who think that the earth/Universe to be only 6K years old have wrongly interpreted God's Special and General Revelation.

does no one ever think that time to God might be different then time to us? he is the beginning and the end, he has always been, so how can we judge his perception of time compared to ours, we are but a blink of an eye to him, we know He created the heavens and the earth, but what is 6 days to God vs 6 days to us? if humans would quit trying to figure out God , and would simply go on faith, everything makes sense

And what do you say to the vast evidence that contradicts what you're claiming?

Comprehending the Creator is what scripture is all about in the first place.
