Like I said Paul said it was a command. He was not lying. There should be no more proof unless u are instead trying to prove the very Scripture that he wrote wrong? God forbid. As for the last Scripture just like many many people you have taken it out of context it is specifically talking about the inside of a person. Neither male nor female in spirit. But they cannot escape the fact that while they are here on earth, there IS male and female.

The invisible things of the world are clearly understood by the things which are made. A man and woman in a marriage is and example of Christ and the church. Just as the church should not think to teach Jesus it is the same for husband and wife.

Galatians 3:28 There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither bond nor free, there is neither male nor female: for ye are all one in Christ Jesus. 3:29 And if ye be Christ's, then are ye Abraham's seed, and heirs according to the promise. This is talking about being children of the promise.

Romans 7:25 I thank God through Jesus Christ our Lord. So then with the mind I myself serve the law of God; but with the flesh the law of sin.

Scripture shows that our spirits are all the same...but while here on earth we cannot escape this flesh unless by God or by dying in the Lord

I am by no means claiming that a woman cannot show a man something new, I am claiming that scripture is referring to speaking in the church such as to teach or preach

So, you don't like that I quoted the bible pertaining to women serving as a pastor?

I sure hope that is not the case.
I object! Not because you quoted the bible, the bible is our eyes to the world as God created it. What I object to is that you quote one verse as a complete thought of God without looking at the whole of the bible. It is like cutting out a piece of a picture and saying look, here is this entire art work.

thank God for democracy
you must be so sad that some women have authority over you thanks to their ability
Democracy has nothing to do with it... women can have authority over men... as long as it falls in alignment of God's order of authority.

Especially on this subject. Well that was silly of me.

I rekon alot of us men deserve being mocked. I cant argue with that.

Any true man of God recognizes and obeys all of God's word and not only part of it. Like that one before said he must walk the talk. Scripture commands husbands to dwell with wives according to knowledge and to give honor to them as unto the weaker vessels. Also says to give them due benevolence and to love them and be willing to lay down their lives for them. When a man and woman get married they become one flesh and heirs together of the grace of God. This is scripture um quoting in some places. It also says that women shouldn't speak in the church and that Paul shows that it is a commandment from God and for all to follow. That is pretty obvious if you read it in 1 Corinth 14. Search it, its there

The context must be understood and 1 Timothy 2:12 is the best verse for understanding the context of should a woman have authority or teach a man by Scripture authorization.

The answer? Yes.

Just have to understand the order, man first, woman second, Adam formed first, then Eve. Man was not deceived but Eve was. Now, was man perfect? Of course not. Other parts of Scripture say that 'Adam sinned,' it was NOT Eve who sinned, it was Adam. Now, this speaks of WEAKNESS of man. BOTH weak. However, and, no offense, miladies, but woman is the WEAKER sex, they were deceived, this is not sin either, it was simply their being DUPED by Satan, believing that snake's lie :(

Sad, I knoooow. But, that's the truth. :(

However, Paul does say after saying that man is first in order, then, woman, and, Eve transgressed, yada, yada, yada, that, in verse 15, and, here, sure, REJOICE, miladies, you are going to be SAVED in childbearing. So, MOST of you will NOT be able to relationship to men and women in a pulpit preacher position but your duty will be GREAT through having kids :)

The Lord leads, and, He most certainly COULD make you a preacher, God's Word authorizes you can but NOT you first in the order, which means..... you REALLY need to pray about becoming pastor of a church and letting the Spirit lead you to that spot of pastor of a church. He will, too, don't you worry, my little ragamuffins :)

What Scripture says is pretty clear... So, lets just trust what the
Lord says and "lean not on our own understanding." His ways and
thoughts are higher than ours.

We all can come up with some elaborate reasons or exceptions. But
lets just trust God and trust His ways!

"It is better to trust in the Lord than to put confidence in man." - Psalm 118:8

I posted this video before on a separate topic, but if you
haven't seen it, I would recommend it, it is about the
reality of hell. But it also covers putting our own thoughts
and reasoning above God's Word...

Right. This is so true. Many people twist 1 or 2 scriptures to their own liking. We are to allow God to give us the understanding. It takes learning it through the spirit and not the flesh. The carnal mind cannot accept the knowledge of God. It is not subject to the law of God neither indeed can be.

1 Timothy 2:11 Let the woman learn in silence with all subjection. 2:12 But I suffer not a woman to teach, nor to usurp authority over the man, but to be in silence. 2:13 For Adam was first formed, then Eve. 2:14 And Adam was not deceived, but the woman being deceived was in the transgression. 2:15 Notwithstanding she shall be saved in childbearing, if they continue in faith and charity and holiness with sobriety.

You are right in that the context needs to be understood. There is a reason why it mentions that Eve was deceivedand in another place calls the wife the weaker vessel. Man is not innocent by any means. But you cannot find scriptural evidence of a woman having authority in the church. If God wanted women to teach men he would have allowed it back then. God changes for nobody. And he would not have allowed Paul to write what he wrote if it was OK. Paul was a man of God.

2 Timothy 3:16 All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:

What Paul wrote was scripture and it was inspired by God. That's why Paul called it a commandment.

4 And Deborah, a prophetess, the wife of Lapidoth, she judged Israel at that time.
Women in the NT were allowed to be missonaries as operating outside of the church assembly. They reach out from their homes and into the communities like the prophet Deborah was doing. She was not a leader in an assembly. She was delivering God's messages as the NT women were out into the world.

As we all know there are many women standing in pulpits today preaching the word of God to men and women.

With that being said Do you know, without a shadow of doubt, that it is wrong for women to become pastors of churches? Like I have said before, I'm a book, chapter, and verse kind of girl so your opinions won't be any good to me or other people reading this post if you can't dig in the scriptures yourself and seek what God is saying in his word. Thanks in advance for all your comments! God Bless!
1 Timothy 2:[SUP]11 [/SUP]Let the woman learn in silence with all subjection. [SUP]12 [/SUP]But I suffer not a woman to teach, nor to usurp authority over the man, but to be in silence. [SUP]13 [/SUP]For Adam was first formed, then Eve. [SUP]14 [/SUP]And Adam was not deceived, but the woman being deceived was in the transgression.

1 Corinthians 14:[SUP]34 [/SUP]Let your women keep silence in the churches: for it is not permitted unto them to speak; but they are commanded to be under obedience as also saith the law. [SUP]35 [/SUP]And if they will learn any thing, let them ask their husbands at home: for it is a shame for women to speak in the church. [SUP]36[/SUP]What? came the word of God out from you? or came it unto you only? [SUP]37 [/SUP]If any man think himself to be a prophet, or spiritual, let him acknowledge that the things that I write unto you are the commandments of the Lord.

The reason why is because Adam was formed first and had heard the word of God from Himself not to eat of the forbidden tree. Eve was created afterwards and was told by Adam not to eat of that forbidden fruit. That was why Satan went to Eve because she did not heard it straight from God to cause doubt. Then by using to Eve in doubt to mislead Adam in thinking otherwise, they had both fallen.

This was Paul way of saying what God commanded in the beginning was that He would have men as rulers over women.

Genesis 3:[SUP]16 [/SUP]Unto the woman he said, I will greatly multiply thy sorrow and thy conception; in sorrow thou shalt bring forth children; and thy desire shall be to thy husband, and he shall rule over thee.

Paul re-enforces that commandment by the comparison of Christ relationship with the church.

Ephesians 5:[SUP]22 [/SUP]Wives, submit yourselves unto your own husbands, as unto the Lord. [SUP]23 [/SUP]For the husband is the head of the wife, even as Christ is the head of the church: and he is the saviour of the body. [SUP]24 [/SUP]Therefore as the church is subject unto Christ, so let the wives be to their own husbands in every thing.

Now husbands were given this warning not to abuse that authority since men are to be submissive to Christ.

Ephesians 5:[SUP]25 [/SUP]Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ also loved the church, and gave himself for it; [SUP]26 [/SUP]That he might sanctify and cleanse it with the washing of water by the word, [SUP]27 [/SUP]That he might present it to himself a glorious church, not having spot, or wrinkle, or any such thing; but that it should be holy and without blemish. [SUP]28 [/SUP]So ought men to love their wives as their own bodies. He that loveth his wife loveth himself. [SUP]29 [/SUP]For no man ever yet hated his own flesh; but nourisheth and cherisheth it, even as the Lord the church: [SUP]30 [/SUP]For we are members of his body, of his flesh, and of his bones. [SUP]31 [/SUP]For this cause shall a man leave his father and mother, and shall be joined unto his wife, and they two shall be one flesh. [SUP]32 [/SUP]This is a great mystery: but I speak concerning Christ and the church. [SUP]33 [/SUP]Nevertheless let every one of you in particular so love his wife even as himself; and the wife see that she reverence her husband.

What irks me is how the women complain all the time about men taking the backseat in the homes, and yet fail to see their dominancy in getting in the way of him getting out from that backseat. Then you have them taking leadership roles in the church, and I bet some of these women are griping about the men doing nothing there too.

Women that complain, should start taking the backseat and let the men know that they are, and yet point out in scripture their role for taking charge, and let Christ do the chastening.

What is one danger for suffering a woman to teach? The church at Thyatira will show why in Revelations.

Revelation 2:[SUP]18 [/SUP]And unto the angel of the church in Thyatira write; These things saith the Son of God, who hath his eyes like unto a flame of fire, and his feet are like fine brass; [SUP]19 [/SUP]I know thy works, and charity, and service, and faith, and thy patience, and thy works; and the last to be more than the first. [SUP]20 [/SUP]Notwithstanding I have a few things against thee, because thou sufferest that woman Jezebel, which calleth herself a prophetess, to teach and to seduce my servants to commit fornication, and to eat things sacrificed unto idols. [SUP]21 [/SUP]And I gave her space to repent of her fornication; and she repented not. [SUP]22 [/SUP]Behold, I will cast her into a bed, and them that commit adultery with her into great tribulation, except they repent of their deeds. [SUP]23 [/SUP]And I will kill her children with death; and all the churches shall know that I am he which searcheth the reins and hearts: and I will give unto every one of you according to your works.

With all of these churches accepting social values in conforming to the world, allowing a woman to teach & to lead is one of them.

Romans 12:1I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service. [SUP]2 [/SUP]And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God. [SUP]3 [/SUP]For I say, through the grace given unto me, to every man that is among you, not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think; but to think soberly, according as God hath dealt to every man the measure of faith.

Seems alot of men & women are thinking higher than they ought to think these days when conforming to the way of the world.

So there is no authorization in God's words for permitting a woman to teach in the assembly or to usurp authority over a man in the assembly or in the home, but Paul seems to give grace for ignorance.

1 Corinthans 14:[SUP]37 [/SUP]If any man think himself to be a prophet, or spiritual, let him acknowledge that the things that I write unto you are the commandments of the Lord.[SUP]38 [/SUP]But if any man be ignorant, let him be ignorant.

But scripture does say that by being ignorant, one is still not being submissive to Christ. One can always go before that throne of grace for help in that area to repent and for guidance as to how the church can return to being submissive to Christ.

You are correct on every account. But, there is a problem within the churches, that has caused women to take more leadership in these churches. This problem is that men are not leading as they should. Many factors have contributed to this condition. At any rate, these churches have become womany. This feminization of the churches serves to drive even more men away. So, because there are not enough men with the right stuff, churches are being lead by women with no stuff.
