no that's not. now if you spent months in a third world country feeding orphans both physically and spiritually, that would be an example of living according to the Spirit.

??? which questions? the child faith test? well first of all most kids wouldn't answer with scripture they would just say "I'm a child of God" but i love the Bible so I'll post the verses anyway...

Romans 8:15 For you did not receive the spirit of bondage again to fear, but you received the Spirit of adoption by whom we cry out, “Abba, Father.”

more mumbling.... you see the only dead flesh is the stuff no longer attached to the man. the NT circumcision is totally not a PHYSICAL thing but a SPIRITUAL thing. the OT was a SHADOW, but why am I even trying to have a rational conversation with you?

You agree that the New Testamen circumcision is concerning the heart, and something gets cut off, what gets cut off according to the Word of God? And what becomes dead according to the Word of God?

Gen 17:13 He that is born in thy house, and he that is bought with thy money, must needs be circumcised: and my covenant shall be in your flesh for an everlasting covenant.

The whole point in all of the leprosy stuff is to show that dead things can be alive if infected or poisoned
(like walls, clothes, etc.)
the walls and clothes were never alive. the Bible never claims they are alive. the LEPROSY or we would call it the infectious disease agents were alive. the viruses or the bacteria that caused the diseases were alive. NOT the clothes or the walls.

therefore your premise is false. those things were never alive and the BIBLE never claimed they were ALIVE.

the bible doesn't even say that plants are alive because they have no Breath from God like the animals do but then you would have to study Genesis to understand that concept.

Genesis 2
[SUP]7 [/SUP]And the Lord God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living being.

How can a covenant be in our flesh as an everlasting covenant if the flesh does not exist. The flesh will always exist, it just needs to be dead (again, spiritually speaking)

circumcision 101

it was a SIGN.
there was blood involved.
it was a reminder of being cut off from the covenant due to SIN.
no covering
hello?

that circumcision was NOT spiritual.
it was not THE Promise

New Covenant: THE Promise
circumcision of the heart:
spiritual illustration of the new birth -
not cutting and blood involved.
illustrating LIFE from the Holy Spirit (God) NOW KNOWN to be DUE TO the Bloody Death of Jesus Christ FOR SIN.

okay?

LAW is good - we are not (sin)
SPIRIT is Good and Better - we are saved by grace through faith in CHRIST.

the stone heart gets replaced with one of Flesh. GOD places His Holy Spirit within His children to teach and guide them. its not about your definition of "dead flesh" its about how God is able to change a sinner's heart into a humble contrite heart ready to learn from Him His laws and His ways and bear the fruit of walking with the Holy Spirit: love, joy, peace, patience, gentleness, self control.
Ezekiel 36:26 I will give you a new heart and put a new spirit within you; I will take the heart of stone out of your flesh and give you a heart of flesh.

Hebrews 8
[SUP]10 [/SUP]For this is the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel after those days, says the Lord: I will put My laws in their mind and write them on their hearts; and I will be their God, and they shall be My people. [SUP]11 [/SUP]None of them shall teach his neighbor, and none his brother, saying,

ok this new format is annoying. what happened to half my post?

2 Corinthians 3:3 clearly you are an epistle of Christ, ministered by us, written not with ink but by the Spirit of the living God, not on tablets of stone but on tablets of flesh, that is, of the heart.
we are not to be "dead flesh" but LIVING epistles of Christ, showing the world what GOD has written on our FLESHY hearts.

I like the word soul, cause it means life.

How could you misunderstand that I was communicating that poison and infection (which is active/alive according to the flesh) can exist in dead things. That's what I said. Dead things with infection or poison is what I was referring to as alive flesh, because it's not dead flesh if it's poisoned or infected, it's something different.

he's speaking from a spiritual aspect ... Of course no blood is involved ...
instead the spirit cuts off the source of the Fleshes PLEASURE sources "all things feeding the flesh" .... Causing a circumcision of the flesh man nature .... no blood involved that you can see no! this is done inwardly not outwardly ...
the flesh man then becomes a "dead" but living sacrifice to the spirit man .... Who knows no death ... a transformation taking place .... Spirit overriding flesh ...

Care to take a stab at it?
In the New Testament application of this everlasting covenant, what gets cut off and dies?

that is not alive flesh. it is fetid, infected disease ridden breeding grounds. not ALIVE flesh at all.

you are just joining two words and redefining it to make it mean what you want. which is fine if you are talking to yourself in your head but if you want to communicate to others then you should use the English language as it was designed to be used.

You could call it infected flesh, diseased flesh, poisoned flesh. but to call it "alive flesh" seems to be mocking the LIFE God gives us and just confuses any message you are trying to convey.

nothing in the sense you are referring to. the stone heart was already dead and gets replaced. in time these bodies will be cut off from the earth and die and be replaced with NEW bodies.

1 corinthians 15 spells it out nicely

In regards to my age: Adam died over 900 years old, but God said it was less than a day.
huh? where did he say that?
go get just the relevant passages and paste them here and let's see.

a thousand years is as a day?

oh brother. okay
i'll take some time on it.

show me God saying what you claim He did.

Which perspective do you consider to be eternal?

just like Adam (men lived longer then, did you know God shortened man's life span?), jon4's body will die.
it is currently alive and well. just like God intended it to be.
but jon4 who is 31 LITERAL years old, IF he has been born of the Spirit, will not die eternally.
he already has eternal life. his corruptible body is going to dust, but hopefully he's actually USING HIS FLESH BODY NOW.

so where does your hour come from? you using gematria to calculate your age?
if you have scripture that tells me you're an hour old; i'll apologize.

why don't you just say what scripture says and stop trying to be cool and funky guru-ish?
huh?

So you're saying that we cannot be holy (in every aspect of life) until we have our new bodies (which I believe will still be made out of earth, just new earth)? Why would God make such an example of circumcision (cutting off the flesh and letting it die by not grafting it back on) if it did not apply spiritually? The responses I have been getting inform me that there is much flesh that is squirming at the thought of dying, and that's a good thing.

Gen 2:17 But of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, thou shalt not eat of it: for in the day that thou eatest thereof thou shalt surely die

Gen_5:5 And all the days that Adam lived were nine hundred and thirty years: and he died.

*cough*
i'm not afraid of this flesh body dying.
and if you're talking about zone the blind dead sinner who was raised to new life by the Spirit at the new birth, why would that old zone be squirming? tell me jon4....tell me why i'm squirming.

are you using gematria?
kabbalah?
