one new bible translation with some very interesting translation values...which i think is ahead of its time...is the new english translation or NET bible... the NET bible is available online...it is completely free with no real copyright...and all of the textual and translation decisions are discussed in many many footnotes...
Feel free to test whethor or not it was done in the keeping of His words by those that loved Him.
Isaiah 48:[SUP]
16 [/SUP]Come ye near unto me, hear ye this; I have not spoken in secret from the beginning;
from the time that it was, there am I: and now the Lord God, and his Spirit, hath sent me. [SUP]
17 [/SUP]Thus saith the Lord, thy Redeemer, the Holy One of Israel; I am the Lord thy God which teacheth thee to profit, which leadeth thee by the way that thou shouldest go.
Does not the NET Bible give footnotes creditting this passage to Cyrus? But this was not speaking of Cyrus in the KJV, but it was changed enough in the NET Bible to undermine the prophesy of those verses, because this is what Jesus was talking about to fulfill all righteousness at His water baptism when the Father spoke from Heaven & the Holy Spirit alighted on Him to testify that He is the Son of God Whom was sent by God.
Matthew 3:[SUP]
15 [/SUP]And Jesus answering said unto him, Suffer it to be so now: for thus it becometh us to fulfil all righteousness. Then he suffered him. [SUP]
16 [/SUP]And Jesus, when he was baptized, went up straightway out of the water: and, lo, the heavens were opened unto him, and he saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove, and lighting upon him: [SUP]
17 [/SUP]And lo a voice from heaven, saying, This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased.
Thus showing the nature of the Triune God in bearing witness of the Son.
John 8:17It is also written in your law,
that the testimony of two men is true.
Matthew 18:16But if he will not hear thee, then take with thee one or two more, t
hat in the mouth of two or three witnesses every word may be established.
So that is one reason why I love the KJV because they have kept the testimonies regarding the Son and there are hid treasures in them so that I may grow in the knowledge of Him & my love shall abound more & more.
Psalm 119:[SUP]
157 [/SUP]Many are my persecutors and mine enemies;
yet do I not decline from thy testimonies. [SUP]158 [/SUP]I beheld the transgressors, and was grieved; because they kept not thy word. [SUP]
159 [/SUP]Consider how I love thy precepts: quicken me, O Lord, according to thy lovingkindness. [SUP]
160 [/SUP]
Thy word is true from the beginning: and every one of thy righteous judgments endureth for ever. [SUP]
161 [/SUP]Princes have persecuted me without a cause: but
my heart standeth in awe of thy word. [SUP]
162 [/SUP]
I rejoice at thy word, as one that findeth great spoil.[SUP]163 [/SUP]I hate and abhor lying: ......
One important note about Cyrus is that God declared him as one that knew Him not and so in no way was Isaiah 48:16-17 was Cyrus speaking. Nope. Nuh uh.
Isaiah 45:
1Thus saith the Lord to his anointed, to Cyrus, whose right hand I have holden, to subdue nations before him; and I will loose the loins of kings, to open before him the two leaved gates; and the gates shall not be shut;...[SUP]
4 [/SUP]For Jacob my servant's sake, and Israel mine elect,
I have even called thee by thy name: I have surnamed thee, though thou hast not known me.
Isaiah 46:[SUP]
11 [/SUP]
Calling a ravenous bird from the east, the man that executeth my counsel from a far country: yea, I have spoken it, I will also bring it to pass; I have purposed it, I will also do it.
Those educated scholars can twist His words all they want, but the truth stands in the KJV.
