lol, read rev 17. She never had any of them

Which one of these ever fit jerusalem?

1. Bears the representation of a harlot ( rev 17: 1-2, 15 - 16. It claimed to be christs bride, but had fallen from its pure purpose and had become a harlot.
Old Physical Jerusalem/Israel is picture as a bride, but she had fallen from her pure purpose!!But by God's design. After Christ's death she still claimed to be God's anointed nation/people and became an antichrist before Christ's death and remained after His death.Read Isaiah 1 that I posted before.Old Jerusalem sat upon many waters, in the middle of a Roman empire which consisted of many peoples, nations and tongues. The Roman empire had conquered all the lands surrounding Jerusalem which composed of exactly many peoples, nations and tongues.

2. a leader in ecclesiastical affairs. rev 17 : 2. 5. Spiritual fornication in scripture is an adherance to a false religious system.
She became a false religious system after Christ's death, she remained and offered up false sacrifices to the Lord, acting as mediator between the people and God.She also invited in false god's through-out her History from neighboring kings and regions, which is exactly why God told them to kill all the people in the land when then moved in, which they failed to do.She was in constant need of God's cleansing.

3. the system is a leader in political affairs ( rev 17:3 ) it is seen to be controlling the beast for which it sits.
You see it that way, I see it that she was carried along by the beast, because the beast (Rome) benefited from her financially. The Romans loved the taxes and business that Jerusalem gave them, that's they were allowed to carry on with their religious system while everyone else outside Israel and to submit to the Caesars.Plus, in away she had control, Pontius Pilate did not want to crucify Jesus, but to keep the peace (which was his job), he gave in to the Jews who cried out "crucify Him".

4 the system has become very rich and influential ( rev 17: 4)
And you don't think they where rich and influential, Jesus Himself got peed off when the religious rulers turned His house into a den of thieves. The very reason the Romans didn't take them out earlier is because Jerusalem was a trade center and a big money maker for the Roman Government, not to mention of coarse it was all due to divine intervention from Above. When Israel held its feasts and passovers, people came around from all over the regions, big money...do you get the picture?

5. The system represents the stage of development of christiondom that was hithertoo unrevieled ( rev 17: 5) in that it was called the " mystery "

Yes its a mystery and it has duped you.Verse 5 does not support you claim of development of Christendom. I don't know how you get that.

6. the system has been a great persecutor of the saints. (rev 17: 6 )
Read the NT, LOL...especially Acts 6 and after. It was the Jews who enticed Rome to join them at first in persecuting the Christians. Roman persecution really didn't come into full throttle until Nero came into power.

7. the system is an organised system of worldwide scope ( rev 17 : 15)
Verse 15 says no such thing. You have to read that into the text.Peoples, multitudes, nations and tongues is a picture of the Roman empire in its fullness. It is a reference to the inhabited area of the Roman empire in that day.

8. The system will be destroyed by the beast, the head of the roman coalition, so that his supremace may not be threatened ( rev 17: 16 - 17 )
The system was destroyed by the beast, 3 1/2 years, hmmm, coincidence I guess huh? The beast, Roman empire, under Titus, did take out the Jerusalem and it's false system of worship. The Beast at this time did hate the harlot, because Jerusalem the harlot was revolting against the Beast. Wouldn't this make the beast hate her? People inside the city did eat the flesh of their offspring, and Jerusalem was burned by fire.

Got any more points my friend?

Rome gets its marching orders from.............? wild guess anyone for 500 points.

Well yeah rev 13. Where 2 witnesses ar ekilled in jerusalem and left dead for three days for all the world to see. Then ressurected .But rev 13 is not about babylon.

If you want to speak of babylon let me know.

ps. Why did you not show how Jerusalem had the characteristics of rev 17> for that is true babylon.

the two witnesses are not literal, they are the Law and prophets, with Moses and Elijah as their representatives. These two witness proclaimed Christ from the very start and pointed to Christ, therefore upon Israels rejection of Christ, these two witness testify against them. They where resurrected when Christ was resurrected, because the Law and the prophets are ingrained with Christ, the two are inseparable. If you want to look through literal glasses when Revelation uses graphic symbolic apocalyptic language, then help yourself, I believe in interpreting graphic symbolic and apocalyptic language as the writer intended, which is apocalyptic judgment language.

I have been speaking about the spiritual meaning of Babylon.

I had already did a piece on the characteristics of Babylon the great harlot, as you well know. why should I do it again?

U haven't answered on my question please.

Were you asking me? if so use reply with quote so i know.
"northern Indians" do you mean american indians?

And your question: was USA is builded on genocide?
define genocide.

Also if your question was to me...why the question?

1. Bears the representation of a harlot ( rev 17: 1-2, 15 - 16. It claimed to be christs bride, but had fallen from its pure purpose and had become a harlot. This is supposed to prove it?

A harlot or prostitute in one in which a husband or wife pays to sleep with. If Isreal or Jerusalem was the bride. She slept with the prostitute, Which is exactly what scripture says, In fact if we look at her history, she always played the harlot. With the egyptian Gods in the wilderness, To the Gods of the peoples who she conquered. She played with babylons Gods and brought them back to jerusalem.

Oh and by the way, Jerusalem, from the time of Babylon till today has been ruled and owned by Gentiles, It was ruled by rome in Christ's day.

2. a leader in ecclesiastical affairs. rev 17 : 2.

Again does not fit.
1. She did not become a false religious system after Christ died. The religion had been around for hundreds of years before he was even born.
2. I find it amazing you claim the LAW which God gave them was pagan or harlotry. God gave them a pagan religion? their problem was that they thought it was what saved them, Thats why they rejected Christ. When she was called a harlot. it was because of pagan ritual. not for following the law.
3. Judaism has never been a religion which was a world leader. In Rome the religion which was worldwide was her pagan belief. The church became twisted and intertwined paganism with christianity, and it lead ecclisiastic affairs for over 1000 Years. Even today, Islam is becoming large in and of itself,. but it still pales in comparison with roman catholisism. Judaism has always been this small part which was usually only followed by Isreal.

for the above reasons and more. I can not believe your argument

3. the system is a leader in political affairs ( rev 17:3 ) it is seen to be controlling the beast for which it sits.
You see it that way, I see it that she was carried along by the beast, because the beast (Rome) benefited from her financially. [SUP]3 [/SUP]So he carried me away in the Spirit into the wilderness. And I saw a woman sitting on a scarlet beast which was full of names of blasphemy, having seven heads and ten horns.I see it this way? the woman was on the beast. It means she was controlling him, or at the least had power over him. This is comnplete opposite of what you said. What you said does not fit the passage, Rome sat on Isreal and jerusalem. Isreal could do nothing without romes permission,

This is all fine and dandy. But we are talking worldwide scope here. She used her money to influence people. Isreal never did this, they kept their money to themselves. they did not even want to pay taxes,.,. let alone use her money to influence people. [/quote]
5. The system represents the stage of development of christiondom that was hithertoo unrevieled ( rev 17: 5) in that it was called the " mystery "
Yes its a mystery and it has duped you.Verse 5 does not support you claim of development of Christendom. I don't know how you get that.

I know one thing. Isreal did not dupe me. The OT is full of prophesy which said Isreal would reject and go her own way, Jerusalem and what happened to her in 70 AD and up till it was certainly no mystery. So again, This would not support jerusalem by any means.

And again, The mystery is of the harlot. A harlot is a false pride. Isreal doing what she did was no mystery. But paganism infilterating the church and controling it for 1000's of years. that sure would be a mystery.

6. the system has been a great persecutor of the saints. (rev 17: 6 )
Read the NT, LOL...especially Acts 6 and after. It was the Jews who enticed Rome to join them at first in persecuting the Christians. Roman persecution really didn't come into full throttle until Nero came into power.

So your honestly going to believe Jerusalem has persecuted saints more than rome?? even back in her day? Who killed peter? and imprisoned christians? Yes the jews killed some. But not near as many as rome has killed in that day, In the days of the roman church and even today.

7. the system is an organised system of worldwide scope ( rev 17 : 15)
Verse 15 says no such thing. You have to read that into the text.Peoples, multitudes, nations and tongues is a picture of the Roman empire in its fullness. It is a reference to the inhabited area of the Roman empire in that day.

lol. Thats based on your assumption it was then and not today. Thus we will have to agree to disagree. But a few comments.

1. One thing we do know however. is jerusalem did not have any influence over any of the peoples tongues and nations of rome.. Thus either way, I could not see it your way.
2. Vs 17 says these nations willingly gave authority of their kingdoms to the beast. Rome in Christs day took power. they did not willingly give their nations to him..

Um huge issue. When Jerusalem was destroyed, Rome was still under her first part. She had not been split. She had not been ten kingdoms which gave their power to the beast. The king in that day took power, he was not given it.. She was still the full Iron, not the iron and clay mix. The beast comes from the iron and clay mix.

Got any more points my friend?

God any better reasons which would actually fit what is said?

I would say its more of the church system, many false doctrines taught as truth, and much confusion, which was established about 500 years ago when the likes of Augustine, Luther, and Calvin, added to the pure word. Thus the reformation came, confusion born!
I would say also that Babylon is a false way to the cross, and all the divisions we have in Christianity isnt helping either, the message of the gospel is very simple, and even a child could understand it, but again all the false teachings today, have made the church system a meca of confusion, many different gospels being taught as truth today.

I would recommend what was warned in Revelation,

Rev 18:4 And I heard another voice from Heaven, saying, Come out of her, My people, that you may not be partakers of her sins, and that you may not receive of her plagues.

If your beloved church isnt preaching this,

Jas 1:21 Therefore putting aside all filthiness and overflowing of evil, receive in meekness the implanted Word, which is able to save your souls.

Jas 1:22 But become doers of the Word, and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves.

Then depart asap!

Most churches teach you just say a little prayer,(sinners prayer) confess you are a sinner, then receive Jesus into your heart, but this isnt taught anywhere in scripture, so instead of confess and accept, its repent, and obey!

Act 20:21 testifying both to the Jews, and also to the Greeks, repentance toward God and faith toward our Lord Jesus Christ.

They are not literal?

They prophesy 1260 days
God supernaturaly protects them
They have power to do great miracles
They are killed by the beast.
They lied dead on the streets. The whole world looked on their dead bodies
after three days they arose
the whole world witnessed this.

Sorry my friend. We do not allegories something in order to make our belief fit. This makes no sense whatsoever. John wrote what he literally saw.

I did not ask you to do one. I just asked you to show how she fits those characteristics in rev 17. All of them.. Jerusalem does not fit. Maybe but a few if we really pushed it. but in no way all of them

Babylon MUST FIT THEM ALL

So are you saying that because they were trying to reform the Roman Catholic Church, that the Roman Catholic Church has it right? Because that is what you are implying if they "brought" in false doctrines.

Earthly Jerusalem

The Siege and Destruction of Jerusalem, by David Roberts (1850)

Many Biblical scholars[38] and theologians point out that although Rome was the prevailing pagan power in the 1st century when the Book of Revelation was written, the symbolism of the whore of Babylon refers not to an invading infidel of foreign power, but to an apostate false queen, a former "bride" who has been unfaithful and who, even though she has been divorced and cast out because of unfaithfulness, continues to falsely claim to be the "queen" of the spiritual realm.[39][40][41] This symbolism did not fit the case of Rome at the time. Proponents of this view suggest that the "seven mountains" in Rev 17:9 are the seven hills on which Jerusalem stands and the "fall of Babylon" in Rev 18 is the fall and destruction of Jerusalem in 70 AD[42] The dress of the whore of Babylon is similar to the Jerusalem High Priest (Exodus 28:6).

Several Old Testament prophets referred to Jerusalem as being a spiritual harlot and a mother of such harlotry (Isaiah 1:21; Jeremiah 2:20; Jeremiah 3:1–11; Ezekiel 16:1–43; Ezekiel 23, Galatians 4:25). Some of the these Old Testament prophecies as well as the warnings in the New Testament concerning Jerusalem are in fact very close to the text concerning Babylon in Revelation, suggesting that John may well have actually been citing those prophecies in his description of Babylon.[43]

For example, in Matthew 23:34–37 and Luke 11:47–51, Jesus himself assigned all of the bloodguilt for the killing of the prophets and of the saints (of all time) to the Pharisees of Jerusalem, and, in Revelation 17:6 and 18:20,24, almost identical phrasing is used in charging that very same bloodguilt to Babylon. This is also bolstered by Jesus' statement that "it's not possible for a prophet to be killed outside of Jerusalem." (Luke 13:33).[44]
