lol, read rev 17. She never had any of them
Which one of these ever fit jerusalem?
1. Bears the representation of a harlot ( rev 17: 1-2, 15 - 16. It claimed to be christs bride, but had fallen from its pure purpose and had become a harlot. Old Physical Jerusalem/Israel is picture as a bride, but she had fallen from her pure purpose!!But by God's design. After Christ's death she still claimed to be God's anointed nation/people and became an antichrist before Christ's death and remained after His death.Read Isaiah 1 that I posted before.Old Jerusalem sat upon many waters, in the middle of a Roman empire which consisted of many peoples, nations and tongues. The Roman empire had conquered all the lands surrounding Jerusalem which composed of exactly many peoples, nations and tongues.
2. a leader in ecclesiastical affairs. rev 17 : 2. 5. Spiritual fornication in scripture is an adherance to a false religious system. She became a false religious system after Christ's death, she remained and offered up false sacrifices to the Lord, acting as mediator between the people and God.She also invited in false god's through-out her History from neighboring kings and regions, which is exactly why God told them to kill all the people in the land when then moved in, which they failed to do.She was in constant need of God's cleansing.
3. the system is a leader in political affairs ( rev 17:3 ) it is seen to be controlling the beast for which it sits. You see it that way, I see it that she was carried along by the beast, because the beast (Rome) benefited from her financially. The Romans loved the taxes and business that Jerusalem gave them, that's they were allowed to carry on with their religious system while everyone else outside Israel and to submit to the Caesars.Plus, in away she had control, Pontius Pilate did not want to crucify Jesus, but to keep the peace (which was his job), he gave in to the Jews who cried out "crucify Him".
4 the system has become very rich and influential ( rev 17: 4) And you don't think they where rich and influential, Jesus Himself got peed off when the religious rulers turned His house into a den of thieves. The very reason the Romans didn't take them out earlier is because Jerusalem was a trade center and a big money maker for the Roman Government, not to mention of coarse it was all due to divine intervention from Above. When Israel held its feasts and passovers, people came around from all over the regions, big money...do you get the picture?
5. The system represents the stage of development of christiondom that was hithertoo unrevieled ( rev 17: 5) in that it was called the " mystery "
Yes its a mystery and it has duped you.Verse 5 does not support you claim of development of Christendom. I don't know how you get that.
6. the system has been a great persecutor of the saints. (rev 17: 6 ) Read the NT, LOL...especially Acts 6 and after. It was the Jews who enticed Rome to join them at first in persecuting the Christians. Roman persecution really didn't come into full throttle until Nero came into power.
7. the system is an organised system of worldwide scope ( rev 17 : 15) Verse 15 says no such thing. You have to read that into the text.Peoples, multitudes, nations and tongues is a picture of the Roman empire in its fullness. It is a reference to the inhabited area of the Roman empire in that day.
8. The system will be destroyed by the beast, the head of the roman coalition, so that his supremace may not be threatened ( rev 17: 16 - 17 ) The system was destroyed by the beast, 3 1/2 years, hmmm, coincidence I guess huh? The beast, Roman empire, under Titus, did take out the Jerusalem and it's false system of worship. The Beast at this time did hate the harlot, because Jerusalem the harlot was revolting against the Beast. Wouldn't this make the beast hate her? People inside the city did eat the flesh of their offspring, and Jerusalem was burned by fire.
