Massive Population. Rev. 18:15. And Revelation 17: 1, 15. Again another "no-brainer." The text doesn't claim that Babylon has the most. It simply notes that she is 'big'… or mega in size including population.

A land of immigrants Jeremiah 50:16; 51:13; Rev. 17:1, 15. Well, with the Statue of Liberty as a symbol… there is no nation that has more appeal for immigration. Not many line up to want to immigrate to Italy.

Unique and awe-inspiring beginning in its birth & right up to its demise. Isaiah 18: 2 While many nations have an interesting beginning, none have the kind of beginning that America had.

Remarkably different heritage. Isaiah 18:2 See #39 above.

Respected-envied and yet HATED by the whole world also. Isa. 18:2 No nation has this status within the family of nations other than the USA. "Yankee go home"… does that ring a bell? Yet, remember most of the world envies and respects the USA.

Powerful and Oppressive Isaiah 18:2 Do we need to talk about all the military adventures the US has engaged in since the end of World War 2? When did you last hear of Italy or Rome bombing anybody? When was the last time you heard about the Italian Pacific fleet in maneuvers at the same time its Atlantic fleet was conducting exercises? When was the last time Italy engaged in naval exercises or 'gun boat diplomacy'?

Land of Rebels in its birth Jeremiah 51: 1; Isaiah 47: 9.

Cosmopolitan and Urban Jeremiah 50:32

Land of Agriculture. Jeremiah 50: 16 Okay… when was the last time you saw farms in Rome itself? I'd like to know how much wheat, oats, corn, rice, etc that is grown in the city of Rome? I can just see a Wheat combine harvesting all around the Vatican. Uh huh, sure!

An International City. Revelation 17: 18; 18:15. Well there are several cities that could fit that category.

Land of Many waters. (fresh waters) Jeremiah 51:13, 36, 42; Isa 18:1,2

Definitely not Rome. This is another city and nation where you don't drink the water… that's why they drink wine so much. The fresh water is poor and limited.

Where the world’s leaders "stream" to meet. Jer. 51:44; Rev. 17:18. Rome is NOT where all the world's leaders meet regularly. The only place that happens is at the UN in New York City, at least once every year. Not Rome, nor anywhere else.

Last of the Super powers. Jeremiah 50:12; Rev 17:18; and in the Revelation 18:18 passage "what city is like the ‘mega’ city"…also verse 19…Rome is definitely NOT a super power. No nation has ever had the power militarily and economically that the USA has had, especially in a percentage relationship to the rest of the world. Only ancient Babylon comes close, (before humanity had spread out) but ancient Babylon, to the best of our knowledge never sent spacecraft or men to the moon.

Defenses reach up to Outer Space--Jeremiah 51:53. Since when did Italy or Rome ever have an astronaut program? Or a space program for that matter.

Occult aspects Isaiah 47: 9, 12,13.

Alliances/Treaties allowing physical military bases of operation for

the Satanic forces. Revelation 18: 2.

Its national symbol… Robed woman with a cup-like container in one hand that smells like natural gas odors inside the container…and the woman is connected to water and immigration…and is considered to be a mother-figure to spiritual prostitution…a.k.a. Ishtar, the mother of ‘literal’ and ‘physical’ prostitutes within religious worship centers. That is what the Babylonian goddess Ishtar was, the promoter of physical prostitution… salvation by sex… have sex with a temple priest or priestess and you are purified from sin. And of course you pay a ‘gift offering’ for this salvation activity. Ishtar was never a physical ‘mother’… but rather a ‘madam’ over the priestesses. Ishtar was never married and never had a child…but she was called "mother" of the temple priestesses. Kind of like a "house mother."

Now having said all of this… I’m referring to the Statue of Liberty. In my book, "America, The Babylon" I explain the meticulous research involved that shows that the Statue of Liberty is in fact the brain-child of the sculptor Bartholdi’s idea to create an image of the goddess Liberty of Rome. I then show how the Roman goddess was in fact borrowed by the Romans from Babylon…and in reality they worshipped Ishtar the goddess of Babylon but the Romans changed the name to Libertas in Latin, (Liberty, in English). So that, the Statue of Liberty is actually a pagan Idol image of Ishtar, the woman described in Revelation 17. If you don’t believe it…Look at Revelation 17: 4 & 5. Note the word for abomination. Bdelugma is from the root word Bdeoh. The Strong’s Code #946… " a foul thing, detestable, usually of idols…the root word means to "break wind", or to "pass gas"… indicating the odor smells like natural gas.

Well, speaking of natural gas…did you know that the Torch-cup of the Statue of Liberty burns an eternal flame…fueled by smelly natural gas? Also, of course… the Statue is referred to as the Mother of Exiles…an immigrant connection…just as the woman of Rev. 17: 1, 15 is also connected to immigrants. So too was Ishtar… she was the goddess of personal freedom… and an encouragement to immigrants.

This is supposed to prove it?

A harlot or prostitute in one in which a husband or wife pays to sleep with. If Isreal or Jerusalem was the bride. She slept with the prostitute, Which is exactly what scripture says, In fact if we look at her history, she always played the harlot. With the egyptian Gods in the wilderness, To the Gods of the peoples who she conquered. She played with babylons Gods and brought them back to jerusalem.

Oh and by the way, Jerusalem, from the time of Babylon till today has been ruled and owned by Gentiles, It was ruled by rome in Christ's day.

Again does not fit.
1. She did not become a false religious system after Christ died. The religion had been around for hundreds of years before he was even born.
2. I find it amazing you claim the LAW which God gave them was pagan or harlotry. God gave them a pagan religion? their problem was that they thought it was what saved them, Thats why they rejected Christ. When she was called a harlot. it was because of pagan ritual. not for following the law.
3. Judaism has never been a religion which was a world leader. In Rome the religion which was worldwide was her pagan belief. The church became twisted and intertwined paganism with christianity, and it lead ecclisiastic affairs for over 1000 Years. Even today, Islam is becoming large in and of itself,. but it still pales in comparison with roman catholisism. Judaism has always been this small part which was usually only followed by Isreal.

for the above reasons and more. I can not believe your argument

[SUP]3 [/SUP]So he carried me away in the Spirit into the wilderness. And I saw a woman sitting on a scarlet beast which was full of names of blasphemy, having seven heads and ten horns.I see it this way? the woman was on the beast. It means she was controlling him, or at the least had power over him. This is comnplete opposite of what you said. What you said does not fit the passage, Rome sat on Isreal and jerusalem. Isreal could do nothing without romes permission, This is all fine and dandy. But we are talking worldwide scope here. She used her money to influence people. Isreal never did this, they kept their money to themselves. they did not even want to pay taxes,.,. let alone use her money to influence people.

5. The system represents the stage of development of christiondom that was hithertoo unrevieled ( rev 17: 5) in that it was called the " mystery "

I know one thing. Isreal did not dupe me. The OT is full of prophesy which said Isreal would reject and go her own way, Jerusalem and what happened to her in 70 AD and up till it was certainly no mystery. So again, This would not support jerusalem by any means.

And again, The mystery is of the harlot. A harlot is a false pride. Isreal doing what she did was no mystery. But paganism infilterating the church and controling it for 1000's of years. that sure would be a mystery.

So your honestly going to believe Jerusalem has persecuted saints more than rome?? even back in her day? Who killed peter? and imprisoned christians? Yes the jews killed some. But not near as many as rome has killed in that day, In the days of the roman church and even today.

lol. Thats based on your assumption it was then and not today. Thus we will have to agree to disagree. But a few comments.

1. One thing we do know however. is jerusalem did not have any influence over any of the peoples tongues and nations of rome.. Thus either way, I could not see it your way.
2. Vs 17 says these nations willingly gave authority of their kingdoms to the beast. Rome in Christs day took power. they did not willingly give their nations to him..

Um huge issue. When Jerusalem was destroyed, Rome was still under her first part. She had not been split. She had not been ten kingdoms which gave their power to the beast. The king in that day took power, he was not given it.. She was still the full Iron, not the iron and clay mix. The beast comes from the iron and clay mix.

God any better reasons which would actually fit what is said?

I don't have time to go line for line with you. When the bible says "she played the harlot" you can interpret it two ways, 1) it is as you say, that Jerusalem went out to play with prostitute or 2) She (Jerusalem/Israel) Played the ROLE of the harlot. Option is the correct way to render it because scripture states in other passages that She was the Harlot, the woman, God's bride...You make the bride out to be a man (and I'm not going to explain this one any further lol). Psalms 106 backs up some of my claims;

Psalms 106

[SUP]34 [/SUP]They did not destroy the peoples,
Concerning whom the Lord had commanded them,
[they failed to destroy the peoples the land upon entrance]
[SUP]35[/SUP]
But they mingled with the Gentiles
And learned their works;
[SUP]36 [/SUP]They served their idols,
Which became a snare to them.

[SUP]37 [/SUP]They even sacrificed their sons
And their daughters to demons,
[SUP]38 [/SUP]And shed innocent blood,
The blood of their sons and daughters,
Whom they sacrificed to the idols of Canaan;

And the land was polluted with blood. [This doesn't sound like a pure form of Judaism to me, They brought these abominations in, she was the whore on the street corner called to them to come].
[SUP]39 [/SUP]Thus they were defiled by their own works,
And played the harlot by their own deeds.
[The played the ROLE of the harlot by their own DEEDS, they were defiled by what THEY did, the bible says She actually Paid other nations to come in to have sex with her, there she was worst then a Harlot, hence, GREAT HARLOT...She went out and prostituted herself

[SUP]40 [/SUP]Therefore the wrath of the Lord was kindled against His people,
So that He abhorred His own inheritance.
[SUP]41 [/SUP]And He gave them into the hand of the Gentiles,
And those who hated them ruled over them.
[SUP]42 [/SUP]Their enemies also oppressed them,
And they were brought into subjection under their hand.
[SUP]43 [/SUP]Many times He delivered them;
But they rebelled in their counsel,
And were brought low for their iniquity.

Ezeiel 23:
[SUP]12 [/SUP]“She lusted for the neighboring Assyrians,
Captains and rulers,
Clothed most gorgeously,
Horsemen riding on horses,
All of them desirable young men. [who did Jerusalem lust after, Women or men? MEN, that makes her the Woman the harlot (singular, not plural as you would have it as in the other nations surrounding her)].

[SUP]14 [/SUP]But she (Jerusalem) increased her harlotry; [Harlotry, not harlotries]
She looked at men portrayed on the wall,
[she was the woman looking at men, a harlot is a woman, and never described as a man]
Images of Chaldeans portrayed in vermilion,
[SUP]15 [/SUP]Girded with belts around their waists,
Flowing turbans on their heads,
All of them looking like captains,
In the manner of the Babylonians of Chaldea,
The land of their nativity.
[SUP]16 [/SUP]As soon as her eyes saw them,
She lusted for them

And sent messengers to them in Chaldea.
[She called out to them to come in, just a whore does on a street corner] [SUP]17 [/SUP]“Then the Babylonians came to her, into the bed of love,
And they defiled her with their immorality;
So she was defiled by them, and alienated herself from them.
[SUP]18 [/SUP]She revealed her harlotry and uncovered her nakedness.
Then I alienated Myself from her,
[AGain who is the female here?]
As I had alienated Myself from her sister.

[SUP]19 [/SUP]“Yet she multiplied her harlotry [Her business of broth house, she was the broth house, she ran that business]
In calling to remembrance the days of her youth,
When she had played the harlot in the land of Egypt.
[SUP]20 [/SUP]For she lusted for her paramours,
Whose flesh is like the flesh of donkeys,
And whose issue is like the issue of horses.
[SUP]21 [/SUP]Thus you called to remembrance the lewdness of your youth,
When the Egyptians pressed your bosom
Because of your youthful breasts.
[who has the breasts? Egyptians?...COME ON, EG!!!]

...Well, lucky for you I'm out of time...READ the passage above...

BTW, I love you. Maybe more to come...

I don't have time to go line for line with you. When the bible says "she played the harlot" you can interpret it two ways, 1) it is as you say, that Jerusalem went out to play with prostitute or 2) She (Jerusalem/Israel) Played the ROLE of the harlot.
This would quite easily be determined. and in fact we would not even look at both options if we just thought for a minute.

1. Playing with a prostitute. A wife or husband would do this.
2. Playing the prostitute - A wife or husband does not do this, They play with the harlot.

since Israel was considered the bride. She could not be THE harlot. She played with THE harlot.

Other things to think of.

How did she "play the harlot."?

Scripture said she added the pagan traditions of the foreign gods of her neighbors into her religion.

so what is the harlot, or prostitute? It is the pagan tradition she learned from her neighbors and instituted into her religion.

Option is the correct way to render it because scripture states in other passages that She was the Harlot, the woman, God's bride...You make the bride out to be a man (and I'm not going to explain this one any further lol). Psalms 106 backs up some of my claims;

ok. I see how you interpret. But I do not see it this way. Lets look at the key words in this passage.
Psalms 106

[SUP]34 [/SUP]They did not destroy the peoples,
Concerning whom the Lord had commanded them
,[they failed to destroy the peoples the land upon entrance]

agreed

[SUP]35[/SUP]
But they mingled with the Gentiles
And learned their works;

[SUP]36 [/SUP]They served their idols,
Which
became a snare to them.
[SUP]37 [/SUP]They even sacrificed their sons
And their daughters to demons,
[SUP]38 [/SUP]And shed innocent blood,
The blood of their sons and daughters,
Whom
they sacrificed to the idols of Canaan;
And the land was polluted with blood.[This doesn't sound like a pure form of Judaism to me, They brought these abominations in, she was the whore on the street corner called to them to come].

Yes, it is not a pure form of Judaism, I agree. But here we see the harlot. The Idols of canaan, The works of the gentiles. THIS is the harlot. And Isreal. as the bride. prostituted herself by sleeping with this pagan harlot. Where did Canaan get these pagan ritual? According to history, it came from babylon. Thus where it gets its name.

[SUP]39 [/SUP]Thus they were defiled by their own works,
And
played the harlot by their own deeds. [The played the ROLE of the harlot by their own DEEDS, they were defiled by what THEY did, the bible says She actually Paid other nations to come in to have sex with her, there she was worst then a Harlot, hence, GREAT HARLOT...She went out and prostituted herself

Your still missing the point. THE HARLOT was what she was playing with. The traditions of the canaanite pagan Gods. which origionated with babylon. the TRUE GREAT WHORE.

[SUP]43 [/SUP]Many times He delivered them;
But they rebelled in their counsel,
And were brought low for their iniquity.

According to Lev 26, this was to be expected.

[SUP]27 [/SUP]‘And after all this, if you do not obey Me, but walk contrary to Me,
[SUP]28 [/SUP]then I also will walk contrary to you in fury;
and I, even I, will chastise you seven times for your sins.

[SUP]29 [/SUP]You shall eat the flesh of your sons, and you shall eat the flesh of your daughters.
[SUP]30 [/SUP]I will destroy your high places, cut down your incense altars, and cast your carcasses on the lifeless forms of your idols;

and My soul shall abhor you.
[SUP]31 [/SUP]I will lay your cities waste and bring your sanctuaries to desolation, and I will not smell the fragrance of your sweet aromas.

[SUP]32 [/SUP]I will bring the land to desolation, and your enemies who dwell in it shall be astonished at it.

[SUP]33 [/SUP]I will scatter you among the nations and draw out a sword after you;
your land shall be desolate and your cities waste.

Notice. This was a warning. If Isreal played with Idols. This is what would happen. If you keep reading lev 26, you will see what God will do if she repents.. Thus according to his OWN LAW, They still are given (as a nation) the ability to repent. so how can they be the harlot which is destroyed. that would mean they have no means of repentnance again. and God went back on his promise, by not alopwing them ther ability to repent.

this is what it all is based on.

Ezeiel 23:
[SUP]12 [/SUP]“She lusted for the neighboring Assyrians,
Captains and rulers,
Clothed most gorgeously,
Horsemen riding on horses,
All of them desirable young men. [who did Jerusalem lust after, Women or men? MEN, that makes her the Woman the harlot (singular, not plural as you would have it as in the other nations surrounding her)].

[SUP]16 [/SUP]As soon as her eyes saw them,
She lusted for them

So she was defiled by them, and alienated herself from them.
[SUP]18 [/SUP]She revealed her harlotry and uncovered her nakedness.
Then I alienated Myself from her,
[AGain who is the female here?]
As I had alienated Myself from her sister.

[SUP]19 [/SUP]“Yet she multiplied her harlotry [Her business of broth house, she was the broth house, she ran that business]
In calling to remembrance the days of her youth,

...Well, lucky for you I'm out of time...READ the passage above...

BTW, I love you. Maybe more to come...

you did not prove anything. Again lev 26 shows what would happen to them if they played with forien gods. and what would later happen if they repented.

all those passages you posted shows her going after the Gods of the assyrians, the chaldians, the canaanites.. where did these Gods origionate from?? Babylon..

it is the religious system which is the great harlot. not the poeple who play with it. namely in this case Isreal.

you know I love ya to bro.. I am not trying to argue, just show why I can not believe the way you do.. I see it a totally different way.

Babylon (tower of babel) is where paganism got its roots.

This pagan religion spread to canaan, chaldia, assyria at the dispersion.

Isreal went into her land, and did not do as God told them, and destroy ALL the nations and her Gods. Why? she would be tempted to play with those gods

The passages you posted proves God was right..

It is the system of paganism, which origionated from babylon which is the great harlot. Not Isreal.

God said if they do this. he will punish them.. Final punishment is what I posted.

But God gave them an out. Again back to lev 26

[SUP]40 [/SUP]‘But if they confess their iniquity and the iniquity of their fathers, with their unfaithfulness in which they were unfaithful to Me, and that they also have walked contrary to Me,

[SUP]41 [/SUP]and that I also have walked contrary to them and have brought them into the land of their enemies;

if their uncircumcised hearts are humbled, and they accept their guilt—

[SUP]42 [/SUP]then I will remember My covenant with Jacob, and My covenant with Isaac and My covenant with Abraham I will remember;

I will remember the land.

[SUP]44 [/SUP]Yet for all that, when they are in the land of their enemies, I will not cast them away, nor shall I abhor them, to utterly destroy them and break My covenant with them;

for I am the Lord their God.
[SUP]45 [/SUP]But for their sake I will remember the covenant of their ancestors, whom I brought out of the land of Egypt in the sight of the nations, that I might be their God:

I am the Lord.’”

God promised.

1. He would never destroy them
2. He will always remember his covenant with their fathers.

Now look at romans 11

Enemy because of the gospel. Beloved because of the election. This is what Paul is refering to.

Revelation 17
1Then one of the seven angels who had the seven bowls came and said to me, “Come, I will show you the judgment of the great prostitute who is seated on many waters, 2with whom the kings of the earth have committed sexual immorality, and with the wine of whose sexual immorality the dwellers on earth have become drunk.” 3And he carried me away in the Spirit into a wilderness, and I saw a woman sitting on a scarlet beast that was full of blasphemous names, and it had seven heads and ten horns. 4The woman was arrayed in purple and scarlet, and adorned with gold and jewels and pearls, holding in her hand a golden cup full of abominations and the impurities of her sexual immorality. 5 And on her forehead was written a name of mystery: “Babylon the great, mother of prostitutes and of earth’s abominations.” 6 And I saw the woman, drunk with the blood of the saints, the blood of the martyrs of Jesus.

I see how you interpret it too, but I don't see any logic in it for in other places in scripture Israel is clearly called the harlot. She is the one committing the sin of fornication against God, not the other nations around her. The other nations around her could not commit this sin against God because they where not spiritual married to God. But a sin it was against themselves and Israel.
Ezekiel 16:
Jerusalem’s Harlotry
[SUP]15 [/SUP]“But you trusted in your own beauty, played the harlot because of your fame, and poured out your harlotry on everyone passing by who would have it.

Your still missing the point. THE HARLOT was what she was playing with. The traditions of the canaanite pagan Gods. which origionated with babylon. the TRUE GREAT WHORE.

Which is greater whore?
1) Israel/Jerusalem, given the light, the Word, Law, Prophets, keeper of the Gate to God and his blessing, called the bride of God, and intrusted to be the people of God's economy, had God dwelling with them >>>> then turning form God, rejecting Jesus, admitting they have no King but Caesar, killing all the prophets and some saints, responsible for sacrificing Jesus, or
2) Pagan nations, never given the responsibility to bear the Word, Law, had no Prophets (although Israel's prophets did declare judgment on them as well as Israel/Jerusalem, never had God dwell with them, never called a bride of God, Never killed any Prophets, indirectly responsible for killing Jesus, responsible for kill some or most of the saints (we really don't have means of measuring who killed more Christians, only that the Roman's killed more of the apostles), >>>never given a Godly directive to turn from, continuing in their own ways due to blindness from God...

Ezekiel 16
Jerusalem’s Adultery

[SUP]31 [/SUP]“You erected your shrine at the head of every road, and built your high place in every street. Yet you were not like a harlot, because you scorned payment. [Scripture is clear, Jerusalem was not like a normal harlot because she Paid others instead of the other pagan nations paying her, THIS IS CLEAR AS DAY...] [SUP]32 [/SUP]You are an adulterous wife, who takes strangers [Pagan Nations] instead of her husband [God]. [SUP]33 [/SUP]Men make payment to all harlots, but you made your payments to all your lovers, and hired them to come to you from all around for your harlotry. [SUP]34 [/SUP]You are the opposite of other women in your harlotry [She is the harlot on the street corner, calling to them, and paying them to come...CLEAR AS DAY],because no one solicited you to be a harlot[Do you see this EG, the pagan nations did not solicite, the Harlot does that!!!!]. In that you gave payment but no payment was given you, therefore you are the opposite.”[the opposite of what a harlot normal does, which is to recieve payment, Jerusalem reversed what the harlot does by paying her spiritual lovers]..

Who is the greater whore???

LOL, we've been down this road before, we are both set in our beliefs on this... If anyone one of us is going to change their position on this, God is the one who will have to open the eyes to help us see. However, that passage in Ezekiel 16 above makes it abundantly clear who the harlot is in my mind, therefore: I leave you to your blindness!!! I'm not going to let this dominate my free time in the Lord anymore..

Open your eyes to Ezekiel 16 EG, if the Nations where the harlot and if the money transactions occurred in normal fashion, Israel would have paid the Pagan Nations. Which she did DO, Jerusalem Paid them, which means if the Pagan nations where the Harlot, the transactions would have been what is expected. But in Ezekiel 16, the transaction was reversed, the Harlot paid the customer, and since Jerusalem was making the payment, this MAKES HER THE HARLOT!!!

Hmm....That dudes spot on!

Way to go brother you will have no friends soon enough. I did a study 2 years ago and came up with most all of the same scriptures and to the obvious, same conclusion. You have found even more scriptures than I did, awesome good job.
You will find that denile is not just a river in Egypt LOL. Blessings it will all be revealed soon enough.

this MAKES HER THE HARLOT!!!

not just the Harlot, the Mother of them all:

Revelation 17:5
This title was written on her forehead: MYSTERY BABYLON THE GREAT THE MOTHER OF PROSTITUTES AND OF THE ABOMINATIONS OF THE EARTH.

but we have had some 20th century narratives which have achieved the desired pavlovian response when this is pointed out, though God Himself has testified to it....both is His Word, and in History.

and so, what happens when the mother has daughters? they generally do what their mother prompts them to do.

Matthew 14:8
Prompted by her mother, she said, “Give me the head of John the Baptist here on a platter.”

Christian Zionism is a belief among some Christians that the return of the Jews to the Holy Land, and the establishment of the State of Israel in 1948, is in accordance with Biblical prophecy. It overlaps with, but is distinct from, the nineteenth century movement for the Restoration of the Jews to the Holy Land, which had both religiously and politically motivated supporters. The term Christian Zionism was popularized in the mid-twentieth century. Prior to that time the common term was Restorationism.[1]

Some Christian Zionists believe that the "ingathering" of Jews in Israel is a prerequisite for the Second Coming of Jesus. This belief is primarily, though not exclusively, associated with Christian Dispensationalism. The idea that Christians should actively support a Jewish return to the Land of Israel, along with the parallel idea that the Jews ought to be encouraged to become Christian, as a means fulfilling a Biblical prophecy has been common in Protestant circles since the Reformation.[2][3][4]

Many Christian Zionists believe that the people of Israel remain part of the chosen people of God, along with the "ingrafted" Gentile Christians[Romans 11:17-24] (dual-covenant theology). This has the added effect of turning Christian Zionists into supporters of Jewish Zionism.

Thanks! There are way too many verses to quote about Babylon I think there are about 200+ verses that covers this in detail. I've tried to include as much as I could.

There isn't any other nation that has all those characteristics if you still don't believe read those verses I have posted.

This link below has more information

Is the USA the Babylon of Revelation 18? | JesusChrist.com

I believe the contention is that some believers, if not many believers, are confusing "the mystery Babylon" as being symbolic of the Vatican with "the daughter of Babylon" that you are referring to as USA as being one and the same.

I believe there are two Babylons of which mystery Babylon is not the Babylon being USA that you are referring to in Revelation 18th chapter.

It is important to note that the entire Western Hemisphere is one third of the earth of which is the prophesy of one third of the earth being burned up in order for all those armies of those prophetic major nations of the world can still be present for the battle at Armegeddon at the end of the great tribulation. That means USA will not be the only nation that will suffer this cataclysmic event in the Western Hemisphere.

OH WOW.
let's not go with the Biblical Babylon the Great! anywhere else but that!
:)

Rev 17:6 And I saw the woman drunken with the blood of the saints, and with the blood of the martyrs of Jesus: and when I saw her, I wondered with great admiration.

Rev 18:20 Rejoice over her, thou heaven, and ye holy apostles and prophets; for God hath avenged you on her.

Rev 18:24 And in her was found the blood of prophets, and of saints, and of all that were slain upon the earth.

Stephen, the first Christian martyr, fingers the council at Jerusalem as the murderers of the prophets, and they were so angry they killed Stephen, too:

Act 7:52 Which of the prophets have not your fathers persecuted? and they have slain them which shewed before of the coming of the Just One; of whom ye have been now the betrayers and murderers:

Jesus speaks harsh words to the leaders of Jerusalem, saying they are worse than harlots, and also says that "Jeursalem kills the prophets":

Mat 21:31 "...Verily I say unto you, That the publicans and the harlots go into the kingdom of God before you.

Mat 21:32 For John came unto you in the way of righteousness, and ye believed him not: but the publicans and the harlots believed him: and ye, when ye had seen it, repented not afterward, that ye might believe him.

Mat 23:29 Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! because ye build the tombs of the prophets, and garnish the sepulchres of the righteous,

Mat 23:30 And say, If we had been in the days of our fathers, we would not have been partakers with them in the blood of the prophets.

Mat 23:31 Wherefore ye be witnesses unto yourselves, that ye are the children of them which killed the prophets.
Mat 23:32 Fill ye up then the measure of your fathers.

Mat 23:33 Ye serpents, ye generation of vipers, how can ye escape the damnation of hell?

Mat 23:34 Wherefore, behold, I send unto you prophets, and wise men, and scribes: and some of them ye shall kill and crucify; and some of them shall ye scourge in your synagogues, and persecute them from city to city:

Mat 23:35 That upon you may come all the righteous blood shed upon the earth, from the blood of righteous Abel unto the blood of Zacharias son of Barachias, whom ye slew between the temple and the altar.

Mat 23:36 Verily I say unto you, All these things shall come upon this generation.

Mat 23:37 O Jerusalem, Jerusalem, thou that killest the prophets, and stonest them which are sent unto thee, how often would I have gathered thy children together, even as a hen gathereth her chickens under her wings, and ye would not!

Mat 23:38 Behold, your house is left unto you desolate.

Mat 23:39 For I say unto you, Ye shall not see me henceforth, till ye shall say, Blessed is he that cometh in the name of the Lord.

Luk 13:31 The same day there came certain of the Pharisees, saying unto him, Get thee out, and depart hence: for Herod will kill thee.

Luk 13:32 And he said unto them, Go ye, and tell that fox, Behold, I cast out devils, and I do cures to day and to morrow, and the third day I shall be perfected.

Luk 13:33 Nevertheless I must walk to day, and to morrow, and the day following: for it cannot be that a prophet perish out of Jerusalem.

Luk 13:34 O Jerusalem, Jerusalem, which killest the prophets, and stonest them that are sent unto thee; how often would I have gathered thy children together, as a hen doth gather her brood under her wings, and ye would not!

Luk 13:35 Behold, your house is left unto you desolate: and verily I say unto you, Ye shall not see me, until the time come when ye shall say, Blessed is he that cometh in the name of the Lord.

The great harlot is the "great city". The "great city" is Jerusalem.

Rev 17:18 And the woman which thou sawest is that great city, which reigneth over the kings of the earth.
Revelation, earlier, tells us which city is THE GREAT CITY: it is Jerusalem.

Rev 11:8 And their dead bodies shall lie in the street of the great city, which spiritually is called Sodom and Egypt, where also our Lord was crucified.

The Lord was crucified in Jerusalem, the great city, which is the great harlot.

Babylon, as a name for Jerusalem, is not unlike the comparison to other cities, such as as Sodom, Egypt, and Gomorrah; "spiritually is called Sodom and Egypt" Rev 11:8. (Isaiah 1:10; Jer. 23:14, Ezek. 16:44-56 all compare Jerusalem to Sodom. (also, Jesus in various NT scriptures, compared various Israelite cities to Sodom and Gomorrah by comparing judgment), Luke 10:12, Mark 6:11, Matthew 11:23-24, Matthew 10:15.)

etc etc etc

the 'jerusalem is babylon' theory falls apart when you actually examine it more closely...

revelation 17:6 says the blood of the christian martyrs is in babylon...not many christians were actually martyred by jerusalem...many many more were martyred by rome...

revelation 18:24 says that in babylon was the blood of 'all that were slain upon the earth'...jerusalem is not behind every murder all through history...in fact this statement suggests that 'babylon' is bigger than any physical city or other political entity...

matthew 21:31-32 has jesus saying the harlots will be saved before the pharisees...you can't be a harlot and also distinct from the harlots at the same time...

jerusalem is never called 'the great city' in the bible...the great city was always either literal babylon or nineveh...those being 'great' because they were capitals of empires... jerusalem is called 'the city of the great king'...but never 'the great city'...

also jerusalem doesn't fit the description revelation 11:8 gives...because jesus was not actually crucified -in- jerusalem!

i also wonder why someone would so confidently take literally a phrase that appears five words after the word 'figuratively' or 'spiritually'...

the biggest problem with the theory that jerusalem is the harlot is that it is halfway dispenationalist...it rests on an assumption from dispensationalist 'dual covenant' theology that recovering dispensationalists seem to have a hard time filtering out...

in the old testament israel 'played the harlot' by basically 'cheating on God' with idols of pagan gods...but this only works as long as israel's marriage like relationship with God still stands...you cannot cheat on someone you aren't married to...

the new covenant of salvation through christ is the only one still in force...physical israel is nothing special under this covenant where there is 'neither jew nor greek'...there is no remaining special exclusive 'secondary' covenant between God and unbelieving israel...

so physical israel is no different from any other unbelieving nation...israel is no more 'playing the harlot' than the aztecs were...

either unbelieving israel is still set apart to God under some kind of dual covenant relationship...or israel cannot be the adulterous harlot cheating on God... you cannot have it both ways...

the two witnesses are not literal, they are the Law and prophets, with Moses and Elijah as their representatives. These two witness proclaimed Christ from the very start and pointed to Christ, therefore upon Israels rejection of Christ, these two witness testify against them. They where resurrected when Christ was resurrected, because the Law and the prophets are ingrained with Christ, the two are inseparable. If you want to look through literal glasses when Revelation uses graphic symbolic apocalyptic language, then help yourself, I believe in interpreting graphic symbolic and apocalyptic language as the writer intended, which is apocalyptic judgment language.

I have been speaking about the spiritual meaning of Babylon.

I had already did a piece on the characteristics of Babylon the great harlot, as you well know. why should I do it again?

the two witnesses are two churches...they are called two lampstands and in the first chapter of revelation jesus explains that lampstands are individual churches... when they are called up to heaven...that is the post tribulation rapture...

10They were looking intently up into the sky as he was going, when suddenly two men dressed in white stood beside them. 11“Men of Galilee,” they said, “why do you stand here looking into the sky? Acts 1:10-11

Is it really a good idea to predict who, when, and where about a prophecy?

When it comes to biblical prophecies it may be a good idea for all of us to take a step back for a moment. We all know we live in a fallen world. Sin is everywhere, and Christians are despised due to the work of evil, but it that an excuse to assume the bible is talking about a certain country, or person?

Is that a righteous judgement? Especially if you believe a prophecy has yet to take place? Many think Obama is the Antichrist, the Pope, Muslims and so on. To label a living being as an Antichrist and to say they are the ONE that will turn the world upside down is really a judgement that I don't want to proclaim.

The bible warns us of false prophets. The bible also, doesn't give the specific name of the Antichrist. Ever thought about why? It wasn't so we could choose who it is. It wasn't so we could add to prophecy or compare it to when it will take place. I do wonder if the reason why is because that is predestining an individual for damnation. The evil ones spoken of in the bible are ones who do things on their own judgement. They choose to turn from God. They are responsible for it. It is obvious it wasn't meant for us to know.

Please be careful on what you believe, and say about prophecy. Prophecy wasn't given to us so we could concentrate on the evils of the world. They are about hope.

Minor correction: Yes Jerusalem is called the great city
Zephaniah 2:9: "‘Therefore, as I live,’ declares the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel, ‘Surely Moab will be like Sodom, and the sons of Ammon like Gomorrah

Isaiah 1:1, 9-10 "The vision which Isaiah, son of Amoz, had concerning Judah and Jerusalem in the days of Uzziah, Jotham, Ahaz and Hezekiah, kings of Judah.…Unless the LORD of hosts had left us a scanty remnant, We had become as Sodom, we should be like Gomorrah. Hear the word of the LORD, princes of Sodom! Listen to the instruction of our God, people of Gomorrah

Revelation 11:8

[SUP]8 [/SUP]And their dead bodies shall lie in the street of the Great City, which spiritually is called Sodom and Egypt, where also our Lord was crucified.

Also:

Mt 23:34-39 [SUP]34 [/SUP]Wherefore, behold, I send unto you prophets, and wise men, and scribes: and some of them ye shall kill and crucify; and some of them shall ye scourge in your synagogues, and persecute them from city to city:[SUP]35 [/SUP]That upon you may come all the righteous blood shed on earth, from the blood of righteous Abel unto the blood of Zacharias son of Barachias, whom ye slew between the temple and the altar.
[SUP]36 [/SUP]Verily I say unto you, All these things shall come upon this generation.
[SUP]37 [/SUP]O Jerusalem, Jerusalem, thou that killest the prophets, and stonest them which are sent unto thee, how often would I have gathered thy children together, even as a hen gathereth her chickens under her wings, and ye would not!
[SUP]38 [/SUP]Behold, your house is left unto you desolate.
[SUP]39 [/SUP]For I say unto you, Ye shall not see me henceforth, till ye shall say, Blessed is he that cometh in the name of the Lord.

while its Babylon who is found drunk with the blood of the saints and all slain upon earth

Rev 17:5-6[SUP]5 [/SUP]And upon her forehead was a name written, Mystery, Babylon The Great, The Mother Of Harlots And Abominations Of The Earth.[SUP]6 [/SUP]And I saw the woman drunken with the blood of the saints, and with the blood of the martyrs of Jesus: and when I saw her, I wondered with great admiration.

Rev 18:21;24And a mighty angel took up a stone like a great millstone, and cast it into the sea, saying, Thus with violence shall that great city Babylon be thrown down, and shall be found no more at all.
[SUP]24 [/SUP]And in her was found the blood of prophets, and of saints, and of all that were slain upon the earth.

Rev 19: [SUP]2 [/SUP]For true and righteous are his judgments: for he hath judged the great whore, which did corrupt the earth with her fornication, and hath avenged the blood of his servants at her hand.

revelation 17:6 says the blood of the christian martyrs is in babylon...not many christians were actually martyred by jerusalem...many many more were martyred by rome...

but, Rachel, unless you are a continuationist (prophets), Rome didn't kill any prophets.

Jesus said Jerusalem did:

Matthew 23:37
"O Jerusalem, Jerusalem, you who kill the prophets and stone those sent to you, how often I have longed to gather your children together, as a hen gathers her chicks under her wings, but you were not willing.

revelation 18:24 says that in babylon was the blood of 'all that were slain upon the earth'...jerusalem is not behind every murder all through history...in fact this statement suggests that 'babylon' is bigger than any physical city or other political entity...

well, Jesus is pronouncing the Covenant curses here:

Matthew 23
29“Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For you build the tombs of the prophets and decorate the monuments of the righteous, 30saying, ‘If we had lived in the days of our fathers, we would not have taken part with them in shedding the blood of the prophets.’ 31Thus you witness against yourselves that you are sons of those who murdered the prophets. 32Fill up, then, the measure of your fathers. 33You serpents, you brood of vipers, how are you to escape being sentenced to hell? 34Therefore I send you prophets and wise men and scribes, some of whom you will kill and crucify, and some you will flog in your synagogues and persecute from town to town, 35so that on you may come all the righteous blood shed on earth, from the blood of innocent Abel to the blood of Zechariah the son of Barachiah,f whom you murdered between the sanctuary and the altar. 36Truly, I say to you, all these things will come upon this generation.

He clearly says:

so that on you may come all the righteous blood shed on earth, from the blood of innocent Abel to the blood of Zechariah the son of Barachiah, whom you murdered between the sanctuary and the altar.

i don't know how that is, but that's what He said.

matthew 21:31-32 has jesus saying the harlots will be saved before the pharisees...you can't be a harlot and also distinct from the harlots at the same time...

i think He literally meant literal prostitutes and sinners.
would enter before they did.

Matthew 23:13
“But woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For you shut the kingdom of heaven in people’s faces. For you neither enter yourselves nor allow those who would enter to go in.

jerusalem is never called 'the great city' in the bible...the great city was always either literal babylon or nineveh...those being 'great' because they were capitals of empires... jerusalem is called 'the city of the great king'...but never 'the great city'....

okay:)

she is in Revelation.

Ezra 4:20
Jerusalem has had powerful kings ruling over the whole of Trans-Euphrates, and taxes, tribute and duty were paid to them.

Ezekiel 5:5
"This is what the Sovereign LORD says: This is Jerusalem, which I have set in the center of the nations, with countries all around her.

Ezekiel 16:13
So you were adorned with gold and silver; your clothes were of fine linen and costly fabric and embroidered cloth. Your food was fine flour, honey and olive oil. You became very beautiful and rose to be a queen.

also jerusalem doesn't fit the description revelation 11:8 gives...because jesus was not actually crucified -in- jerusalem!

okay.
He wasn't killed in Rome or Babylon either.

He was killed in Jerusalem, outside the gate, just as the Law said He had to be.

Revelation 11:8
Their bodies will lie in the street of the great city, which is figuratively called Sodom and Egypt, where also their Lord was crucified.

it doesn't say Jesus was figuratively crucified, nor anything else figuratively asserted.
the only thing is the name of the great city, which is figuratively called Sodom and Egypt.

the people knew what that meant:

Isaiah 1:9
Unless the LORD Almighty had left us some survivors, we would have become like Sodom, we would have been like Gomorrah.

i also wonder why someone would so confidently take literally a phrase that appears five words after the word 'figuratively' or 'spiritually'...

seriously?

the biggest problem with the theory that jerusalem is the harlot is that it is halfway dispenationalist...it rests on an assumption from dispensationalist 'dual covenant' theology that recovering dispensationalists seem to have a hard time filtering out...

Jerusalem WAS the Harlot.
she received the penalty written in the Law:

Leviticus 21:9
"'If a priest's daughter defiles herself by becoming a prostitute, she disgraces her father; she must be burned in the fire.

in the old testament israel 'played the harlot' by basically 'cheating on God' with idols of pagan gods...but this only works as long as israel's marriage like relationship with God still stands...you cannot cheat on someone you aren't married to....

right.
so what do we have today?

people acting out something that already happened.

why is that?

the new covenant of salvation through christ is the only one still in force...physical israel is nothing special under this covenant where there is 'neither jew nor greek'...there is no remaining special exclusive 'secondary' covenant between God and unbelieving israel...

so physical israel is no different from any other unbelieving nation...israel is no more 'playing the harlot' than the aztecs were...

i completely agree.

so what's really going on?

either unbelieving israel is still set apart to God under some kind of dual covenant relationship...or israel cannot be the adulterous harlot cheating on God... you cannot have it both ways...

Jerusalem was the cheating harlot.
she received the curses in the Law, and now there is Only Jesus.

i agree....you can not have it both ways.

so what do we have going on today?

somebody had a motive for inserting GAPS in the narrative.
long ones.
