I see how you interpret it too, but I don't see any logic in it for in other places in scripture Israel is clearly called the harlot. She is the one committing the sin of fornication against God, not the other nations around her. The other nations around her could not commit this sin against God because they where not spiritual married to God. But a sin it was against themselves and Israel.

Is it really a good idea to predict who, when, and where about a prophecy?

When it comes to biblical prophecies it may be a good idea for all of us to take a step back for a moment. We all know we live in a fallen world. Sin is everywhere, and Christians are despised due to the work of evil, but it that an excuse to assume the bible is talking about a certain country, or person?

Is that a righteous judgement? Especially if you believe a prophecy has yet to take place? Many think Obama is the Antichrist, the Pope, Muslims and so on. To label a living being as an Antichrist and to say they are the ONE that will turn the world upside down is really a judgement that I don't want to proclaim.

The bible warns us of false prophets. The bible also, doesn't give the specific name of the Antichrist. Ever thought about why? It wasn't so we could choose who it is. It wasn't so we could add to prophecy or compare it to when it will take place. I do wonder if the reason why is because that is predestining an individual for damnation. The evil ones spoken of in the bible are ones who do things on their own judgement. They choose to turn from God. They are responsible for it. It is obvious it wasn't meant for us to know.

Please be careful on what you believe, and say about prophecy. Prophecy wasn't given to us so we could concentrate on the evils of the world. They are about hope.

1. Hope
2. To prove the God we worship is the one and only God because no other God can prophsy, and have his prophesies come true.

I agree. we should not be saying the next pope, or obama or whoever is this person. God did not tell us to do this. He told us to be ready, because like a thief who comes in the night, these things will take place suddenly without warning.

How do we get ready? By trying to interpret prophesy? NO! God said there would be no signs of when these things take place. so we have no signs to look for.

God said we are to grow in truth and love, and witness to the world. for the world needs our help so when these things happen, they are not taken away. but are prepared.

I think it would be wrong to state this means every other "great city" must also be Jerusalem. For this would be an assumption only. There are many cities called "great cities" in the OT. Rome itself is called a "Great city"

a study of all the religions will show a root from babal. They have alot in common. Look at what the pope can do even now. from hindy/islam/judiasm/charismatic/newage and the rest all have the common thread for a spiritual upgrade.

No one, China controls China, Russia controls russia, the middle east controls the middle east, The US controls itself. has always been this way, but prophesy states one day will no longer be a nation controlling its own finances, but one ruler controlling every nations finances. Sorry China and Russia are both owned by the world bank, who steers policy. Noone as far as i know is sovereign any longer. China has been under their control since before mao.
