God is one but in three. Father, Jesus, Holy Spirit......they are all one being called YHWH but are in three places, in three persons, with three different offices at the same time.
And Jesus said:
At that time Jesus, full of joy through the Holy Spirit, said, “I praise you, Father, Lord of heaven and earth, because you have hidden these things from the wise and learned, and revealed them to little children. Yes, Father, for this was your good pleasure.
Luke10:21

And Jesus also said,

"I am the Alpha and the Omega," says the Lord God, "who is, and who was, and who is to come, the Almighty." - Revelation 1:8

"I am the Alpha and the Omega, the first and the last, the beginning and the end." - Revelation 22:13

Joh 17:1 These words spake Jesus, and lifted up his eyes to heaven, and said, Father, the hour is come; glorify thy Son, that thy Son also may glorify thee:
Joh 17:2 As thou hast given him power over all flesh, that he should give eternal life to as many as thou hast given him.
Joh 17:3 And this is life eternal, that they might know thee the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom thou hast sent.
Joh 17:4 I have glorified thee on the earth: I have finished the work which thou gavest me to do.

Here we go, lets not lack much context here, check out verse 4,.. yes, amazing, He came so that we could have access to eternal life and that we might know the Father,..pause;Question:Why do you think Jesus is called God in the flesh?(well, because He came to do the work of the Father...) yes, very true. Okay so on we go, this scripture have you lacked, (the fifth verse)

Joh 17:5 And now, O Father, glorify thou me with thine own self with the glory which I had with thee before the world was.

Now, what on earth is Jesus talking about here? glorify him with thine own self? hmm, my interpretation would be that Jesus is being put on the right hand of the Father, what? on the same level? yeah.
Some of you people on these websites are incredible, its all about working it out with your little grey cells

You know someone told me today you can't just accept Christ is the Son of God there is more to it thatn that, you have to delve into who he is, I guess theologically/doctytrinally

WHAT IS WRONG WITH YOU PEOPLE. HAVE ANY OF YOU HEARD OF THE HOLY SPIRIT?

It ain't an academic exercise. Good grief!

The Holy Spirit enters you at conversion and convicts you in your heart as to who you must believe Christ to be,, you don't have to go through, what is it, steam vapour ice, to explain it! The Holy Spirit convicts you
You all really think God got it wrong when Christ spoke the word of God on this earth and said who we must believe him to be?

You don't have to intellectually explain it
THE HOLY SPIRIT LIVES IN YOU ALL

Take my advice, get hold of your theologiccal books, have a bonfire, get down on your knees and beg God to show you truth through the Holy Spirit's leading. It'll be hard at first not relying on Bonhoeffer and many others, but it will get eassier over time

An alternative conversation:

But who do you say I am he asked
Simon Peter replied
You are the Christ, the Son of the living God

Jesus sighs deeply

No Peter, that is not enough you must understand the full implications of that statement. You have to firstly realise I am a member of an equal Trinity consisting of Father, Son and Spirit. I have existed for all ages past as part of this Trinity. In the ontological sense of Trinity I cannot be subordinate to the father, but in the economic sense of Trinity I am.
It is vital you understand all things came from the Father through me. It is not enough to simply believe I am the son of God, you must believe I am God to be saved, even though I say I am not the one true God.

Peter starts scratching his head

You must also have a full understanding of the belief that will be called OSAS. And make sure everyone understands about the pre trib rapture, because it is vital they understand that subject correctly . and also what will become known as filique

But when you write books about your time with me you don't have to tell people who they must believe me to be to inherit eternal life, because scholars and theologians will do that for you. They will pour over your books and others and realise that is what you meant.

Peter shakes his head, he doesn't understand

Listen God the Father is Spirit right? Your saying God is the Father which is the Holy Spirit inside Jesus. Well thats what we are trying to explain to you...Well there is scripture that say they were all in one place at the same time.

Immediately coming up out of the water, He (Jesus) saw the heavens opening, and the Spirit (Holy Spirit) like a dove descending upon Him; and a voice came out of the heavens: "You are My beloved Son, in You I am well-pleased." (the Father) - Mark 1:11

Trinity is they are One God in three different persons at the same time with different offices. Father is the Creator, Jesus the Mediator, Holy Spirit the guide. They are the same God same ONE person but they exist in three persons at the same time. If you say God cant be three persons at the same time your saying God cant do everything.....

you seem to know the theological books, and their authors more than I, I have read none of them, Jesus was conceived of the Holy Spirit, and Jesus breathed the Holy Spirit into the apostles before ascending into the heavens to be equally set with God back in His original state, no, I didn't forget about the comforter, or wisdom, or the Spirit of Truth He was also there in the beginning if you don't want to have any wisdom of the trinity, those who are fools let them be fools still, what more can anyone say, if you don't accept what is known truth among us.

Mark54,

"For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have eternal life." - John 3:16

Son of God and God the Son is interchangeable, they mean the same thing. If the Acts 4:12 says, "And there is salvation in no one else; for there is no other name under heaven that has been given among men by which we must be saved." Then tell me why would would make a man with such high authority? Because He is God in flesh, the Son of God and God the Son part of the Trinity.

Give me one plain verse of scripture from anywhere in the entire bible that plainly states what to you I must believe as to who Christ is to inherit eternal life
No theological exercise, just plain text
I hope you would agree, there must be at least one verse VERY PLAINLY WRITTEN that states your belief as to who i must believe Christ to be unto eternal life, thank you

You7 were doing so well, why could you not just have left it at John 3:16

that is very easy what more plainly stated as the daylight which reveals all things than this,...
Joh 14:6 Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.
Joh 14:7 If ye had known me, ye should have known my Father also: and from henceforth ye know him, and have seen him.

Right
John 14:6 yes, verse 14 no says nothing about salvational belief

So if you witness to someone you are not going to tell them they must be,lieve Jesus is son of God or God, they just have to believe Jesus diede for them, that's it. Thank you for explaining that

you see you're looking for one verse that plainly fits, but my belief is derived throughout the entire bible.

YOUR BElief is based on theological exercise, I understand that.
However, Christ didn't theologise did he
He just said a person must believe he is the Son of God
