I read alot on here from both the men and women. Its sucks to be hurt and then to try and trust again is horrific. However not once since my seperation till my divorce and even now, haven't I spoken one ill word about him to my duaghter. Why because I want her to KNOW there are godly men. Such as the men on here such as the men out in the world. Obviously being cautious is important. But what I don't want is to trash him because that is what she will think men are. They aren't all like that. It took one man for hurt to sink in, not millions. It took one man to restore my faith. But its Christ who holds me together.

shae, what a wonderful way to love your little girl. :)
I commend you, and thank the Lord for giving you insight.
so many moms
don't understand that running down daddy only hurts the child.

You show the Biblical admonition and principle given in 1 Peter 4:8...love covers a multitude of sin. ♥

women feel free to bash me, i got 31 years experiance. I can take it.
Well I'm 42 wise,so if the pressure starts to get too much bro, feel free to lay your burden on me. LOL I've been bashed by the best of 'em.LOL...worse comes to worse,if it get's that bad we can always go have a cry & sit with Doctor Jesus for a while.;)

Not all women nag and bash. Some of us respect men whether we're in a relationship with them or not.

Well, it wasn't really indicated that 'all' women do this. But, seeing things from a male perspective, the overall mentality in the church of women towards men is critical. And women are usually the ones hearing the messages of 'a man needs to do this, say this, live this, be this'. We don't her a lot of encouragement for men to have the same expectations when finding a woman. Men just see that women used to talk about 'Proverbs 31 women' and so we figure if they say it, then that must be what we should want. But really, there is not near the pressure to be ultraspiritual on women in the church.
I have seen it posted on CC on a regular basis about women complaining that none of the men are good enough.

When I partake in Man Bashing I like to employ a French baguette then make the bashed man sweep up the crumbs.

Ok, think its past my bedtime. My brain seems to have gone a bit odd...

Ps. I then nag that they missed a spot :P

Actually, the child gets the worst of it, but it also feeds the negativity in yourself and discourages the growth of healthy relationships between you and the opposite gender.

as for this "I can take it." MENtality, Most of us Can take it.
But just like taking a small enough dose of cyanide each day may not kill you, it won't do you may favors either. over time, it may erode something inside you just as a trickle of water can dig a canyon. Just like with Cirrhosis of the Liver, by the time the damage is observable and measurable, it is too late and is no longer reversible.
Can you take it? Probably. Should you? Not really.
I find that many women Like it when I *Respectfully* will man-up and ask them to not man bash in a way that will affect my children or politely prove myself to be someone other than who they were generalizing about.

Lets not forget the loss of respect from your children over hearing you talk about their mother/father in that way.

You're right Ugly. It's not really something that I understand. You shouldn't bash your husband, you should lift him up. You shouldn't EVER bash him in public or private. If a woman has a problem with her husband, she should go to him and work it out. If they need to, then counseling is the best idea. Unfortunately, many women think that nagging, badgering, or talking to their friends about how awful their husband is will fix the situation. Something most people don't remember is the whole do-unto-others thing. If I don't want to be nagged and insulted, why would I do so to my husband?

Matthew 18:

[SUP]15 [/SUP]“If your brother sins, go and show him his fault in private; if he listens to you, you have won your brother. [SUP]16 [/SUP]But if he does not listen to you, take one or two more with you, so that by the mouth of two or three witnesses every fact may be confirmed. [SUP]17 [/SUP]If he refuses to listen to them, tell it to the church; and if he refuses to listen even to the church, let him be to you as a Gentile and a tax collector. [SUP]18 [/SUP]Truly I say to you, whatever you bind on earth shall have been bound in heaven; and whatever you loose on earth shall have been loosed in heaven.
[SUP]19 [/SUP]“Again I say to you, that if two of you agree on earth about anything that they may ask, it shall be done for them by My Father who is in heaven. [SUP]20 [/SUP]For where two or three have gathered together in My name, I am there in their midst.”

[SUP]21 [/SUP]Then Peter came and said to Him, “Lord, how often shall my brother sin against me and I forgive him? Up to seven times?” [SUP]22 [/SUP]Jesus *said to him, “I do not say to you, up to seven times, but up to seventy times seven. (NASB)

You're right, of course. I simplified for brevity's sake (odd for me :) ).

I suspect a child's
view of Father God is based on their view of their earthly dad, too.
That alone should give us pause when talking about men in general, and a child's dad in particular.

Though my children will tease their dad about being lazy.
Because he's the diametric opposite of that. :)

yeah... that sounds totally Healthy.
Seriously, bro. be Man enough to cry.
If you've got negative emotions of some kind or another sticking them in the back of your "emotional refrigerator" will just make the fester and turn into something worse. The mold and funk can potentially ruin all the other emotions in your fridge, spoiling everything for you. If something's gone off, don't stick it in the back of the fridge, pull it out, throw it out, and clean the container while its still salvageable. Then put something happy back in its place.
golly, I hope you're in touch with yer feelings enough to get the metaphor... I can only assume that you are not joking, so I hope you're not offended if that was your idea of sarcastic humor.

((HUG))This is of course, also a reminder to me to mind how my kids view me.
And sparks a thought I'll post as a new thread!
