Of course, the way to apply the women's actions to this is stop being so worried about marriage and dating that you run off to date non-Christians because you can't find one in church. Both genders are acting wrong in regards to this situation.

Yes, women's desperate attitudes regarding dating within or outside the church should be discussed as well, but this topic is moreso geared for the dudes. However, I'm open to hear some experiences you guys have had with single women in the church as well because that sounds like a pretty dominant factor in why some guys avoid church entirely.

Poor, poor sad lonely single ladies... there are so many of us and the pickings are slim. In some churches the ratio of single women to men is 10 to 1, and that isn't fair to anybody. I've witnessed one of my male friends get women throwing themselves at him because he was a nice single guy in a church full of single women who all wanted a piece of him. This is so, so wrong. Women should not be so desperate. Let the poor guy just come to church. You'll scare him off! Or... he'll be tempted to become a polygamist (buwhaha).

So of course the single ladies, tired and frustrated with the lack of men in the church, will date outside because there are no other options. However, there is an option, which is NOT TO DATE. Women need to look at their reasoning as to why they feel lonely, why they feel like the really need a man in their life. The list seems endless, but in reality there is a deeper reason as to why we feel lonely and desperate... and honey, a man won't fix that problem.

Personally I don't date because I'm not interested in dating just for the sake of dating because it's "normal" for somebody my age to get out there and date 100 guys and sleep around before I find the majestic ONE, which may not even be the one but I'm too blinded by my loneliness to see that. I have not met that super cool Christian dude yet so I'm not going to "test the waters" on the next poor sap that comes my way.

And to Ugly and Epicnerd: On the lady side of physical appearance it isn't too different. I've been looked over probably by a lot of clean cut guys because I have purple and pink in my hair and a lip ring. Apparently, in the 2013 church, that is too outrageous for some to handle. Luckily I got to a church where we come in all shapes and colours. Unfortunately... the demographic of cool guys is, as I said, 10 to 1, but church isn't for scoping the dudes. It's for scoping for Jesus! Woo!

Ah, well, guess i'm done here then. Another thread to put men down, and when you call the women out 'oh this isn't the place for that'.

Ugly, she's not having a go at you. If you feel that way reading her posts, maybe you still need healing in some areas. I think you often make great, honest points but you should also realise that not everyone is out to get you.

I never said anyone was out to get 'me'. I'm pointing out a repeating attitude that i see currently and often and is becoming quite frustrating. But i never once said anything was about me. And never implied in any post that anyone was out to get me. Seems misreading posts is a common problem here, eh?

Spend a few days in the chat room, with that avatar of yourself you'll have a number of dating and marriage proposals in under a week, haha.

Just watch out for those people stuck in Nigera (or some other African nation) that is stuck and needs money via western union to get home...

I was talking to the new pretty girl. haha. I have yet to receive a proposal. The women tend to fish for rich American men, which i'm not. So then they stop talking to me once they learn this. Actually this always happens with women from one country in particular, but its a common country on this site, so i won't name it here. I've stopped responding to any women from this country.

Silly Aussies!

And sorry about the earlier post. Yes, I misread it. I apologise.

*puts away pea-shooter. (actually it really does shoot peas, they won't trust me with a real gun, not even a spud gun)

Aw, spud guns are awesome fun. I had a metal one when I was young but lost the potato gun when it fell down a drain in the street. Bummer!

Wow, I never thought about this before. However, now that I think about it... when I was going to churches there was almost never guys around my age there.

... well if I ever decide to start looking for single women to date I guess a church would be a good place to start.

Maybe a kangaroo dung gun would be cool. Long as you weren't the target.

If they message me fishing for a rich man, they will be fishing the wrong pond.

I go to church every Sunday and girls there are none. Is there any guy, but often don't see a woman under the age of 35. Even in the Christian student associations, there are lots of boys, with a ratio of almost 20 to 1 girl. Where do you live? I come to live where you live ahahahha :)

I've always had a 'rough around the edges' look and despite all the 'looks don't matter' claims by women, that has not been my experience in person.

Well, anyone who claim that looks don't matter don't know what they are talking about. The fact of the matter is that when looking for a partner, consciously or subconsciously we search for something that appeals to us. General beauty, body proportions, even smell is something the brain picks up on at first glance. Sadly it is not visible to the naked eye how good a heart a person has or how kind, or how much the person loves God. The good news is that everybody have different tastes, and also, that even though looks matter it is not what matters the most.
