and yeah i'm a tad bit upset with the fact that someone is telling me my christian faith is weak because I don't home-school. How else am I supposed to take those comments?
Well... you could try excercising some self control instead of huffing, snorting and twisting my words to suit your fit. And Yes, "a little further down than road", can mean more spiritually mature but in general it means "longer in the tooth", apparently that is some egregious offense to you too... whether I am more "longer in the tooth" or more spiritually mature... which you are kinda convincing me I probably am, by your response... just sayin.
Generally, I tend to credit the snorting to misplaced conviction... just saying.
You can be all mad at me... for having an opinion...and you can also be mad at me for being passionate about what the bible says... in the long run...the word of God stands.
It is quite obvious you do not understand the phrase... "this is not intention to call you out personally" as a disconnect phrase from talking to you personally to talking in general. Get over yourself... your fit isn't going to change my position on the matter.
I didn't know profile disclosure was required to validate participation here on CC. Did you want my answer based n the children I have given birth to or include those from professional vocation and volunteer association? I wonder why it would matter... you've already had your fit and disregarded the principal anyway.

simple question: where does it say in the bible that you have to home school or your kids burn in hell?

I never said any such thing jinx... you did. SO I will leave it to you to be a berean and search the scripture and figure out what the bible says yourself.

Done with it.
not even worth it any more.
I do what I know is best and if people want to tell me that my children are no good because they go to a public school then I guess that is on the person saying such things.
Don't owe anyone squat.

have to get my son off the PUBLIC school bus.. will pm you when I get a chance. I think the solution would be to help the teacher learn some effective classroom management skills so that she doesn't have to yell to get the kids under control.

I have a few ideas and maybe you could print them out and discuss them with her, or the principal could get the teacher an older more experience teacher to be her mentor?

Often new teachers have problems with classroom management and feeling overwhelmed and stress. Hopefully if she feels more in control and able to handle the students, she will be more approachable and able to answer questions from the students who really are trying to learn and need her help.

I think it would be better to build up teachers than tear them down. Pray for her and all who help shape our children's lives, that they may do it in a way that points the child to Christ and His truth and love. And that our kids can discern between God's truths and the world's lies.

Jesus prayed not that we might be taken from the world but that God might protect us while walking in this world and be lights to those around us pointing to God.

I'm hoping to be a teacher some day soon. I hope the parents are as kind and understanding as you, Jinx because I know I will try and love each of them as if they were my own and teach them as much as I can so that they might succeed in whatever they want to do in the future.

We all make mistakes, but we pray and ask God that others will forgive us and that He will use whatever we do in His name for good even though we feel like misfits more often than not.

Darlings, keep calm!!
I have read this thread with interest and with some resistance!! but you know? there is truth in what those with who we most resist say!! think about it....
But for now i shall put in my little half pence worth. Story of a Christian & the Education of her Children: Short Story from moi!!
My children were in public school (we were in Asia) but, it was OK....little bit of God :) very do-able. Then I was saved...i began to see all was not well....how could I move them? I was lucky!! there was a Christian school where i lived, i moved them. Happy day. I was home....or was I?
Awful. The hypocrisy & compromise was SO hard to take.
Moved back to Uk, into home school...EVEN WORSE!! very small class, no sport, favouritism, bullying...argh!!!
Moved to private school. Not Christian...totsl defeat. :(
Yet my son is THE Christian :) Oh my...he is growing, he is finding himself, his faith, he is shinning, affecting lives. Hallelujah!!
End of 'wee' Scottish story. Moral? there are so many ways...no matter the knots we create? God WILL untangle.
God Bless. <><

School? Life style? I am always a little wary when it involves a shutting and closing off, a segregation. But, our children ought to be making a difference? ought to be standing? not blending in....just like us. Is our faith on CC and church on Sunday & for our 'Christian ' pals? or is it ALL the time? Coz you know I am sure of one thing...the Holy Spirit that dwells in me is not part time!! ( maybe need to go and post that somewhere else? :) <><

still done with it... LOL The whole idea of this thread was to talk about how the other workers made me feel uncomfortable when they wanted me to jump on the band wagon of gossip toward the teachers. it was never intended to be public vs home school but others have that agenda. so OTHERS can talk about it WITHOUT ME.
I'm Done! LOL

God is present in public, private and home schools. If you instill Christian beliefs and values in your children and live them in your daily life, then public schooling won't turn them away from Christ. I know plenty of people from high school (I went to a Christian one) who have turned their back on God and think it's more because they didn't see his relevance in their lives. They learned about it at school but rarely/never saw it exhibited outside school. Public schools aren't evil in and of themselves. God is present there too and having Christian staff and students in a public school is a blessing to the non-believing community.

I don't know about the schools in your country... But as for american schools... on this issue we definately disagree.
