God knows our hearts and knows if we are truly repentant or if we just want to get out of trouble. Godly sorrow that works to repentance is nothing to be sorry for. however if you have worldly sorrow and are just sorry that you get in trouble or were caught doing wrong or punished for doing wrong, then you don't really repentant. If you thought you could get away with it, you would probably do it again. therefore, unless you are truly contrite and humble and pray with a pure heart to overcome the sin that is enslaving you, you will not be set free but continue to be enslaved. You have to pray and ask God how that sin is hurting you and others in your life and how it is keeping you from doing and being the person God wants you to be. then you will have godly sorrow and repent of doing the deed, not just suffering the consequences of being punished or being made to feel guilty. You will learn the wisdom from above about how sin hurts more than just you and God but those around you as well. You will gain the fruit of SELF CONTROL and diligently add to your faith.
And this is what I had in mind. Worldly sorrow wouldn't take me anywhere in life and I were still bond to sin, but I am not, thus I know my repentance is godly.

I have seen that people here are not teaching but arguing to prove their point that they are right. If someone says I do not trust God's salvation, that is being judgmental from their part. If someone says I am not saved, that is still judgmental, for only God knows my heart, and not humans.

I do not see love in this website anymore.
ShyForHim, #1 I love you, and I want you to come to the knowledge of the truth.

#2 Im not Cobus, but I think what he was trying to say is not that you do not trust God's salvation, but that you are not trusting in the right salvation.

You see Jesus did not come to save us from the penalty of sin, He came to save us from sin itself, thereby saving us from its penalty.

If you are trusting in a salvation that delivers you from Hell, but not from all sin, then you are trusting in the wrong salvation.

Im not judging you, or being mean, Im trying to speak the truth in love to a new believer who I believe truly loves the Lord, just has been taught a skewed gospel by the ''church''

I think its wrong and people shouldn't do it. Jesus did not throw scripture at the woman who committed adultery. Though He was the only one without sin, He did NOT cast the stone but forgave her and told her to go and sin no more.
I think you hit the nail on the head, Jesus did forgive her past sin, but she also said go and sin no more

I know I am saved from the sins (apart from Hell as well). I want to learn but this thread became a complete mess and you don't even know where to look at anymore.

:) sometimes people are too blinded by their own sins that they see it in everyone around them and try to bash others over the head with scriptures God is trying to reach and Teach THEM to obey.

we just have too pray for them too ;)

because they are still enslaved to the legalistic lies that they are too blind to recognize they have been deceived by.

isn't that the nature of deception?

its pretty easy to recognize.

when I read their posts. I am reminded of these scriptures:

James 3
[h=3]James 3[/h]New King James Version (NKJV)

3 My brethren, let not many of you become teachers, knowing that we shall receive a stricter judgment. [SUP]2 [/SUP]For we all stumble in many things. If anyone does not stumble in word, he is a perfect man, able also to bridle the whole body. [SUP]3 [/SUP]Indeed,[SUP][a][/SUP] we put bits in horses’ mouths that they may obey us, and we turn their whole body. [SUP]4 [/SUP]Look also at ships: although they are so large and are driven by fierce winds, they are turned by a very small rudder wherever the pilot desires. [SUP]5 [/SUP]Even so the tongue is a little member and boasts great things.
See how great a forest a little fire kindles! [SUP]6 [/SUP]And the tongue is a fire, a world of iniquity. The tongue is so set among our members that it defiles the whole body, and sets on fire the course of nature; and it is set on fire by hell. [SUP]7 [/SUP]For every kind of beast and bird, of reptile and creature of the sea, is tamed and has been tamed by mankind. [SUP]8 [/SUP]But no man can tame the tongue. It is an unruly evil, full of deadly poison. [SUP]9 [/SUP]With it we bless our God and Father, and with it we curse men, who have been made in the similitude of God. [SUP]10 [/SUP]Out of the same mouth proceed blessing and cursing. My brethren, these things ought not to be so. [SUP]11 [/SUP]Does a spring send forth fresh water and bitter from the same opening? [SUP]12 [/SUP]Can a fig tree, my brethren, bear olives, or a grapevine bear figs? Thus no spring yields both salt water and fresh.[SUP][b][/SUP]

[h=3][/h][SUP]13 [/SUP]Who is wise and understanding among you? Let him show by good conduct that his works are done in the meekness of wisdom. [SUP]14 [/SUP]But if you have bitter envy and self-seeking in your hearts, do not boast and lie against the truth. [SUP]15 [/SUP]This wisdom does not descend from above, but is earthly, sensual, demonic. [SUP]16 [/SUP]For where envy and self-seeking exist, confusion and every evil thing are there. [SUP]17 [/SUP]But the wisdom that is from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, willing to yield, full of mercy and good fruits, without partiality and without hypocrisy. [SUP]18 [/SUP]Now the fruit of righteousness is sown in peace by those who make peace.
don't give up on the site... gotta do chores :) hope to see you around ShyforHim :)

That's good news. if we have been saved from sin, then we are capable of saying no to sin, and we never ever have to give in to temptation again.

I say checkout who is posting scripture, and read those passages, and ask Holy Spirit to show you the truth

This is why we are to renew our minds of this type of thinking. There will always be sunday church goers, homosexuals and the such. We all will die. Be refreshed knowing that He has overcame death for us all. Not a few, but all who will look like Him in death.

Before I got saved, I used to think that sins were "natural" human behavior. I only knew that murder and suicide were a terrible sins, but that's because I never grabbed a Bible to actually read it -- not until I got saved and started learning, and started to see my wrongdoings and decided to follow God's Word. His Word is perfect.

But now that I am Christian, I know I cannot sin anymore and should not, and if I do (done without knowing it is wrong) then Holy Spirit will enlighten me and show me my mistake. I hope this is clear enough.

#2 Im not Cobus, but
I would wait to see if he still calls himself a child of Satan and doesn't think God adopts people until they are completely without sin.......why is he trying to lead God's children, when he doesn't consider himself one? ........or has that changed in the last few months?

you never know....

cobus, have you been born again? are you filled with the Holy Spirit or are you still in your sins?

Legalism is truth without love, antinomianism love without truth. We have been called to walk in love and truth. The problem arises when those who do not walk in truth claim all who do walk in truth legalist even whether said legalist is walking in love as well or not.

Many people simply despised the truth and those that speak it

Truth. Are all men from God?

All men are created in God's image, but we have corrupted ourselves and need to be reconciled. All men will not be reconciled

Do all men belong to God? Remember YOU were reconciled to God WHILE YOU WERE STILL A SINNER. Why then stress that others be reconciled to God only AFTER?

If I remember right, the Bible teaches something about being a child of God, if not, the father is Satan. I'm not sure whether this is the one though.

John 3:8 But when people keep on sinning, it shows that they belong to the devil, who has been sinning since the beginning. But the Son of God came to destroy the works of the devil.

9 Those who have been born into God's family do not make a practice of sinning, because God's life is in them. So they can't keep on sinning, because they are children of God.
