Why do you think these christian groups are like this.
I guess at some point they have been deceived ; the old devil is always at work to keep the true faith hidden from folks and one of his favorite tools is mans religion.

Well, why do you feel it is it for you? We are all different, and it really doesn't matter that we know about someone else's reasons. As the Bible constantly and repeatedly teaches, our focus needs to be on ourselves when it comes to learning about things that may hinder us. "Speck and Mote"..... Work on ourselves before turning our attention to others.
Do you think you have to be a christian before you can do that?

No, not really. It might surprise you what has been trying to get through to you if you just waited to hear.

What do say about people who see in the bible that some verses appear to suggest that God sometimes changes his mind about things.

But is it not legitimate change to God without changing in faith first.

What are your methods for reaching out to people who have lost their faith in Jesus.
It depends. I first ask. "Are they reveling in their apostasy or, like the prodigal son, are they coming to their senses.

Are you a different person when you change your mind about an initial intention?

Then what do you decide after you know that answer.

Uh.... he didn't "come to his senses". He ran out of money, out of food, and out of options. In truth, he was just desperate.

In fact, he was rehearsing a planned speech he hoped would convince his father to hire him as a farm worker (or whatever job)

Well in the book of Jonah it was a good thing God changed His mind as 120,000 people ended up being saved from being destroyed so it can be a good thing. But really it was the people of Nineveh who after hearing the warning given by Jonah from God that they changed their minds and repented and changed their ways that God decided not to destroy them as warned. However, Jonah did not have the best attitude about it......

Do you know of other examples where it appears that God has changed his mind.

A couple of times with Moses when God wanted to wipe out the children of Israel and said He would start a nation with Moses but Moses asked to be killed with them if God did that and that other nations would say that God just brought them out of Egypt to destroy them in the desert.....God decided not to do as He was talking about this with Moses....

If there had been 10 righteous people in Sodom and Gomorrah God would not have destroyed it but there weren't so it's gone... but that would also have qualified possibly as a change of direction on God's part....

Sorry. I really don't care about that, I was just saying changing your mind does not make anyone a different person....... although it could change their perceptions and outlook on some things.

So God doesnt learn anything new when he changes his mind.

Could you tell me how changing your mind doesnt have any effect on who you are as a person.
