Terry, you already ARE inspiring people, just by being here. :) I'm glad you understand what I meant by cancer being a gift. I'm sure alot of people will read that statement and get mad and offended. You are strong too, my beautiful sister. God bless you more. :)

Your fighting spirit is amazing lady bug...i did not add blue on your name because i know that you are not blue anymore. God already chased all your blues away and burried them where they cant come back. God has renewed your spirit.

I see myself in you. I always look at the bright side no matter how dark it gets. We dont always picture out what God is really trying to do. But i believe he always is looking at the bigger picture and always knows what He is doing. So be it Lord.

God bless you...:)

tinkerbell, thank you. :) Yes, we do need to look on the bright side, no matter how dark things may seem for us. I have walked in that darkness many times, but kept my eyes on the brightness of Jesus on the other side. He is always with us, even when He may seem so far away. :)

Dr. Stone was my favorite doctor, he was an older man and would take the time to explain things to me whenever I visited him and had a medical question. He stopped his practice and I went 3 to 4 years without the regular pap smear because I hated the thought of trying to find a new doctor. This little voice said to me it's been long enough you need to go get a pap smear. After multiple normal tests at my new doctors office she said your test came back questionable. I'd like to do a D&C to check things out. So we did and it was the beginnings of uterine cancer.

She recommended a top notch oncologist that preformed robotic surgery on me and a few hours later with a complete hysterectomy we thought I'd be as good as new. I had a low grade fever for three weeks and on April 1 2008 started hemoraging. My cousin had been staying with my daughter and I to help out and she told Melisa we need to get your mom to the doctor now because she is bleeding and Melisa said yea right April Fools....leave it to me to have a problem on that day...Blond style. Long story short had to have emergency surgery to stop the bleeding and when it was done had to have 3-4 pints of blood put back in and was a weak sick puppy for a week or so.

I thank God for whispering that you need to go get checked as it was at the perfect time and I also did not have to have chemo or any other treatments as they got all the cancer when they removed the uterus. My doctor did tell me though I was his first patient to start bleeding after that surgery....lucky me..... But God has more than once saved my life and I am forever grateful.

Thanks for sharing your story Blue Ladybug we are sister's in Christ and sister's in survival. Who knew?

Darlene, if it had not been for the heavy flow of my periods, I never would have gone to the doctor in the first place. I hate drs and procedures. LOL. :) After my surgery, luckily I did not have to do any chemo or rads. They removed lymph nodes during the surgery and had them biopsied.
The same doctor who did my surgery was my gynecologist. He and his wife, who assisted with my surgery, both are. However, on my 3rd year checkup, he told me my cancer had returned. After further testing a few weeks later, it was confirmed that my cancer had NOT returned!! During those few weeks, here I am, scared crapless and bawling, thinking I had cancer again, and it turned out to be a case of mistaken identity!! I was NOT happy with the doctor, and I have never been back to see him again. I'm grateful to him for doing my surgery but I'm thoroughly disgusted with him telling me something so important that later turned out to be false!! That is medical negligence and my sister sent him a nasty letter telling him so. LOL. :)

No more pap smears for me!! I passed the 3-year checkup mark with flying colors, and IF the cancer does ever return elsewhere in me, I will deal with it then. I'm ready if that's how I'm supposed to go. I've already told my family if it ever returned, I won't pursue any course of treatment. I don't get how having chemo and making myself even sicker, is supposed to make me BETTER. I am NOT saying that people with cancer should'nt do chemo!! It's just my own personal choice.
