Yes but if God were to heal us completely, in a one-shot deal so that we never get sick anymore, then why doesn't he? Isn't it kind of a hassle to him AND us, having to heal people a million times over?
In a sense, we're all dying of our last disease
And because sin entered the world, and death came by sin,
so far the ratio of birth to death is pretty much 1 to 1.
Maybe not Elijah, or is it Elisha, (hey, it's a weekend and my brains
not in cchat mode, just taking a moment between sausage grillers,)
but even though Jesus brought Lazarus back to life after four days,
and the body stinketh (kjv, lol), he still died again, presumably, however, as christians, Jesus says though we were dead yet shall we live...and whosoever lives and believes in Him shall never die, (we've been given the gift of eternal life).
I say all this just to show I have no idea what I'm talking about, but
seriously, I often think if I was God...and I had the power to instantly heal everybody, (most everybody?),
I would...but then sometimes I walk into another room and immediately forget what I went there for, so I have to just trust the Lord that He knows a little more about these things, and has reasons for doing what He does.
I guess the difference is, as believers, we know the Lord, and we know He can be trusted, and we know that the day is coming when there's no more pain, sickness, tears, etc., and yet there are many ppl who go through the same things, but with no hope beyond the grave, and no understanding for why there is pain and suffering in the world to begin with.
Meanwhile, we can pray for each other and ask the Lord how we can find meaning and purpose in our individual situations, and trust Him when we can't clearly see the answers, and hopefully how we handle it, by the grace of God will be a testimony for others to be drawn to Jesus and bring Him glory, and meanwhile do the best to be of good cheer because He has overcome the world, and rejoice because our names are written in heaven.
God bless you, blb.
