Interesting take on 'shadows' and 'types' in the story of Abram/Abraham and the two sons.

Ishmael was born of Abram. Isaac was born of Abraham.

God calls Himself the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob. Do Muslims agree with the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob?

And God called Isaac Abraham's son, his only son. Selah

She's is an ex-Muslim Christian! Praise God!

Read about Muhammad and u will c that many things, one being that he was illiterate and therefore a lot of what is written in th Quaran is in effect to what he heard around him in his time (Jews and Christians).

I encourage u to do some research! it's important as Christians to hav knowledge about all beliefs and religions, so we can be able to b bettr witnesses bcuz we hav their point of view :)

Christians worship the one true God who gave His only begotten Son so that all who believe might be saved. muslims on the other hand follow a lying, thieving, murdering, child doing (per islams own writings) false prophet mohammad and his thinly repackaged moon god allah that has no son and teaches the exact opposite of the gospel. Do you really believe the thinly repackaged moon god islam worships is the one true God of the Scriptures?

hmm yes i agree with everyone else, muslims worship Allah , christians worship Yahweh/Jesus , Jews worship Yahweh
None of the Gods are the same because each group has attributed different characteristics to their own God, even though they all claim similar qualities.

Does it bother anyone that Christians and Muslims both claim to to be worshiping the one and only true God?

I agree with what you said about Muhammad, very similar things occurred with Joseph Smith writing the Book of Mormon.
He borrowed from Bible (Jews and Christians) just as Muhammad had done.

Will you allow the possibility then that early christians may have borrowed ideas from other religions, Judaism, Greek/Roman mythology, Egyptian gods ??

Muslims don't worship our Father, they worship a rock.
When a Muslim prays, they have to pray facing the direction where this rock is wherever they are in the world.

When they ordered Pilate to crucify the One True God, and said "we have no king but Caesar"? :)

Let us not be hypocrites - if we are to denounce Muslim worship of false god/s, its only consistent to denounce Jewish worship of false god/s. Any god who is not Jesus is leading his followers to hell - to say less is deceitful, and we know who the father of lies is.

And to falsely say that Jews worship the thinly repackaged false moon god isn't being decietful?

I agree 100%, Fluttershy. It is unnecessary. As a Christian, I myself am astonished as to why there has to be two different religion branches (Islamic and Christianity) fighting over the same God: 'Allah'.

It's nice to see some people with reason pop into Christianchat.com every now and then.

If it's the same god, do you worship Allah too then?

???

So we who are regular members here on CC are "without reason?" Seriously? That doesn't sound very reasonable to me.

Christians may well ask themselves, “How is it possible that Muslims can acknowledge so many similar beliefs and yet it is incredibly difficult for them to accept the Lord Jesus as Savior?” The fact is: they are able to connect the dots. It doesn't take a rocket scientist to see where the discussion is leading. If we read Luke 19:1-10 where Jesus saves/forgives a sinner like Zacchaeus he might connect the dots to the end of Christ's life – his climactic saving act on the cross where he takes away the sin of the world. (John 1:29) Three of the more common reasons why Muslims find it difficult to accept the Messiah as Savior are:

  1. Islam emphatically denies that Messiah died on the cross.
  2. Muslims deny Christ's deity (in fact, this is the unforgivable sin).
  3. To become a Christian means becoming an apostate – a crime punishable by death.

Here is the conclusion to the whole discussion: The most recurring and prominent signature attribute of God which distinguishes him as the true God is that he is 'mighty to save'. He alone is Savior. It is precisely this criterion that Jesus applied to the Samaritans when he said, “You Samaritans worship what you do not know; we worship what we do know, for salvation is from the Jews ..." (John 4:22, NIV, bold font added for emphasis)

We could also add the FACT that they deny God begat a Son. Those who deny the Son are antichrists.
1Jn 2:22-23 Who is a liar but he that denieth that Jesus is the Christ? He is antichrist, that denieth the Father and the Son. Whosoever denieth the Son, the same hath not the Father: (but) he that acknowledgeth the Son hath the Father also.
