I was speaking about the world in general. And the world is fallen and can never achieve this idealistic equality. So all attempt by human idealist to enforce equality will eventually lead to disaster.. We have seen many ""cultural revolutions"" through history wanting to create a perfect society and all of them end in violence and the breakdown of society.. All the experiments seeking to create a perfect society have failed dismally..

As for the brethren God wants us to love the brethren but God himself declares that some will be called greater in the kingdom of Heaven and some will be called lesser in the kingdom of heaven.. All of them will be loved and are loved by God but some will have greater honor in eternity..

As for the parable of the workers in the field which you mention the same "pay" is Salvation the time the workers are working in the field is referring to the length of time a person is a Christian.. Some people become Christians early in their lives and they work for God for many years. Others become Christian near to the end of their lives. Some even on the day of their deaths.. The same reward is given to all Christians (Salvation) no matter if they are Christians for 80 years before the die or if they are Christians for only 8 minutes before they die..

Satan wanted to be a God equal with God..

Isaiah 14: KJV
12 "How art thou fallen from heaven, O Lucifer, son of the morning! how art thou cut down to the ground, which didst weaken the nations! {13} For thou hast said in thine heart, I will ascend into heaven, I will exalt my throne above the stars of God: I will sit also upon the mount of the congregation, in the sides of the north: {14} I will ascend above the heights of the clouds; I will be like the most High. {15} Yet thou shalt be brought down to hell, to the sides of the pit."

The Most High is God..

And i am not sure how you come to the conclusion that Job was telling God what to do?
read scripture lucifer said he wanted to exalt my throne ABOVE the stars of God.
also read Job when God was having a conversation with him asking well where were you at the beginning of creation? Job was whining about how he had been treated and that God wasnt blessing him. it was because Job had always been blessed and didnt think he had to suffer cos he had been so good.

it would have been like Jesus saying to his Father Im too good to be crucificed Im not going to do it, and giving all the reasons then saying crucify someone else instead.

That is my take on it, Im not saying you have to agree with me on every little point. i have noticed that many people use Job to illustrate their idea of 'why do good people suffer' but really they mean 'why do wealthy people suffer' as if being wealthy and having a certain comfortable lifestyle is meant to insulate them from all the suffering in the world. thats why Job was attacked it is clear in his story that he was a very wealthy man. righteous, as he emphasised, but wealthy too. it listed all his possesions and such. everything was taken away from him to test whther he was still faithful to God. thankfully he did pass the test but not without some soul searching.

Yes i have read that scripture and the stars of God i believe are symbolic of the Angels of God.. But the stars of God are not God himself because God is One and stars are billions..

God declared Job to be a good example of a human follower and satan threw down a challenge to God that Job would forsake God if all the material blessings of God where taken away from him.. Yes Job did lament the loss of his wealth and family and His personal sufferings and wondered why out loud to God why it was all happening to him.. But Job was playing a part in the defeat of the satanic challenge.. The story of Job to me is symbolic of the entire human race but more specifically followers of God who are playing their part in the victory against the satanic challenge against God.. To me this universe was created as a stage where the claims of satan to the position of Godhood could be put to the test, Of course God foreknew satan would stuff up and that victory against satan and his angels was assured. But we humans, well most of us humans have been stumbling along in our brief life times along history oblivious to the bigger eternal picture..

i define equality the way God defines it.
much of Library work is about quality not quantity. many people cant get their head around it though, they assume that the longer hours you do the more you should be paid. but that just means people work slower. .

I think you ought to look a bit deeper into the way God measures things. its not a mans measure.
When you state, "I think you ought to look a bit deeper into the way God measures things. it's not a mans (as you wrote it) measure."

Yes. This is exactly the point I was trying to get across to you -- that some of the things you speak about or against continually might actually be set in place by God for His own reasons, and from a human standpoint, they don't seem fair at all.

Sometimes these inequalities are meant to be righted, and sometimes they are God's own choice and doing.

I was pointing that out because I think your posts seem to overlook that.

Hello seoulsearch, you are so right on how God's hand is in every aspect of our lives. The good, the bad, the wonderful and even the tragedies work together for our spiritual advancement. David had a good handle on this.

Psalms 39:6-11 “Surely a man goes about as a shadow! Surely for nothing they are in turmoil; man heaps up wealth and does not know who will gather! And now, O Lord, for what do I wait? My hope is in You. Deliver me from all my transgressions. Do not make me the scorn of the fool! I am mute; I do not open my mouth, for it is You who have done it. Remove Your stroke from me; I am spent by the hostility of Your hand. When You discipline a man with rebukes for sin, You consume like a moth what is dear to him; surely all mankind is a mere breath!" Selah (ESV)

Why did Jesus say "resist not evil" in Matt. 5:29? Because if evil in present in front of you, as a hurdle, God allowed it. If God allows something, David considered God did it Himself and that it is a test to overcome. That is the very attitude he took when he confronted Goliath. That sheds new like on the following:

Romans 8:28-32 "And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose. For whom he did foreknow, he also did predestinate to be conformed to the image of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brethren. Moreover whom he did predestinate, them he also called: and whom he called, them he also justified: and whom he justified, them he also glorified. What shall we then say to these things? If God be for us, who can be against us? He that spared not his own Son, but delivered him up for us all, how shall he not with him also freely give us all things?" Praise Yeshua, for He is worthy.(y)

point taken although seoulsearch you seemd to overlook my point which was the same as your point. so we both pointing in the same direction so its a moot point, lol

what happened to Job was extreme but it could happen to any one of us, no matter how righteous we think we are or well off.

So all those first world problems, those petty things people complain about are not really problems at all.

If a volcano erupted and blew up your family, it doesnt matter how wealthy you are. Its a tragedy and problem you would need to face as a survivor...and at the very least, your own life was spared and thank God for small mercies that more people didnt die.. this happend recently when White Island blew up and killed about 8 people)

Not having internet or having a house thats too big is minor and can easily be solved so that its not a problem at all, depending on how you look at it.

I thank everyday we are still alive...to spread the gospel.

I was thinking this morning how some people were moaning about stuff thats going on....I might not even have a job next month and it kinda made me think what planet are people on when they buy up all the toilet paper.

I have a workmate who had witnessed the bali bombings. He had the only news footage and was told he had to go back there for some FBI investigation. He doesnt want to go but thats the thing. I say to him Im glad hes still alive.

I then go and plant flower bulbs and wait till they come up for spring. We can all do something, little things that make a kinder world.

About toilet paper and/or shortages.

You can use water like millions have over the centuries...……..but it will take some facing up to the abilities. Wash your hands afterwards, by all means.

exactly.
people also get conned into buying baby wipes, disposable nappies and sanitary pads, contributing to a huge plastic problem. as well as plastic takeaway cups and plates and straws etc cos people are just too much in a hurry to even do the dishes. That time poor first world is just dumping all their problems on to the rest of the world and killing life in the oceans.

Slow down people. Life is not a race...if you treat it like that you will die sooner.

To the baby wipe/pampers people. It was very effective using a cloth diaper, a bucket with bleach and water for soiled dydies, and a washing machine. Oh, naturally the soiled diaper was first rincsed in the toilet befor prewash storage.

People forget very easily it seems.

you can actually compost human manure. In fact babies manure is probably a lot safer than an adults. Gardeners have been using manure for centuries.

a composting toilet does not require scads of toilet paper, you can bury your deposit in untreated sawdust or other kind of organic matter. As long as its buried it shouldnt smell. It is far better to do this then use fresh clean water to flush your bodily waste into the ocean.

I just want to add, in case anyone thinks the first world problem is running out of toilet paper.
