I don't know what you mean. That's the core teaching of the Bible, is that you need to lay your life down. The greatest form of love is to offer your life for a friend. You need to die to yourself daily. Everything I shared is scriptural. So either the Bible is projecting this? I mean, that's for you to decide. I'm not projecting it I can give you all the Bible quotes. There wasn't really anything I shared in that that wasn't from the bible. Except for the part where I was ranting.

It is debatable whether anyone reflects what the bible projects since extracting meaning from what is written necessarily requires an interpretation of the meaning of symbols into real world concepts. And my reply is offered to hurriedly to elaborate very much, since I have to go now. bbsol.

believe means you are convicted of a truth with absolute proof & it's acted on whenever possible. a visual scene is the most common proof but spiritually, belief in Good, Jesus & the Holy Spirit is most important. & we have that thru His Spirit. Romans 8:16, John 16:13 & John 14:26.

I believe you can own and operate a business as a Christian. But the question is, are you willing to give it up for Christ? That's really all it comes down to. If it's a hindrance and it's getting in your way then get rid of it. Put god first.

That's pretty accurate.Look up the greek word for believe that's used in the bible.

In the Greek word, it also means reliability, which means unless you're considered to be reliable and dependable when it comes to your faith and serving God, then you do not believe. This must happen first. Now to have faith, one does not need to have credibility and reliability.It just means that you're convinced or you're persuaded.

Nah. Stoics can be cynical and cynics can be stoic, but they are not requirements of each other.

In fact most of the cynics I know are definitely NOT stoic. On balance I'd say if you're a stoic that's a good thing.

Tsk tsk. Such indictments are bad for one's blood pressure.

And they are much more suitable for BDF (Bible Discussion Forum) than for here. Perhaps you spent so much time railing at people you disagreed with in BDF that you forgot how to discuss things calmly with rational people.

Also: Man, if I had a nickel for every time I heard someone use "I forgive you" in a derogatory, scathing manner...
