The back of the page
Is one seldom used.
Thoughts of untidiness
Are with it confused.
When one has written
On each line of the front
And still has more to write,
It’s for another page they hunt.
I’ve never quite understood
This disapproval of the reverse side,
It’s as though we consider
The back of the page the perverse side.
Attempting to convince my friends
That side two is really ok,
As often as I can, I write on it,
Leaving the front as clear as day.
It’s fun to watch as they try to read my letters,
They become so amusingly confused,
I really should know better.
But, when I use the back,
It really becomes the front,
And if I still have more to write,
I can always use the back, no need to hunt!
