I dont really like too much music from the 50s-60s. Grateful Dead had some really cool songs..... thats all I can think of from that era at the moment, though : p

The 70s-90s had some really great music, though. I really really like Joy Division. They opened me up to melodic bass playing with their song "Love Will Tear Us Apart", and got me excited about playing the bass guitar.

I also really liked The Cure, The Church, Bauhaus, New Order, Depeche Mode, The Sugar Cubes, The Pixies, Nirvana, Radiohead, KUKL, Sonic Youth and some others I cant totally think of atm : p
