Question: What are rep points?

Maybe it doesn't show when you hide rep points but its not a rep point meter. Look at Laurie B..

She only has 6 rep power and she's halfway to as many green bars as me and I have 215 rep power.

....now try to explain that one, LadyBlue...

Reps are easy to explain (but not the green bars)....

When you think a person's post is really good or inspiring you can add to that person's reputation by clicking on the little star of David (six-point star) in the lower left of the person's post..

That will add reputation points to that person's account... Every 100 reputation points = 1 'Rep Power' (Rep Power is shown under one's avatar)

Once you add to a member's reputation, you can't add to theirs again until you give some to other people first.

That's it!


The green bars are a great mystery....

You need glasses. Your rep power is 243..lol

And I think the newbies have hardly any posts at all to do to get their next green bar and powers. :/ When I joined, it took nearly a year to get to 18 powers, and OVER a year to get all the green bars.

No that's not it either lol... The green bars and reps have nothing to do with each other.

Post count does affect the green bars but it's not a post count meter either. There is something more to it than post count. I just kind of gave you two hints... Well, one obvious hint and one subtle hint...

It's interesting... someone starts a new thread about a well-worn subject and they get told to go look up the old threads

But if someone goes and looks up an old thread, they are accused of resurrecting dead threads.
