For me I'd have to say I love seeing women with long hair. I think it's beautiful. Short hair on a women can be beautiful but I'm just not a big fan. Maybe it's because for 5 years I had my hair short and spikey and I just got sick of it.
For men I'd have to say short maybe down to their shoulders would be okay.
But that's just me.
So you're not doing The Chop for quite a while yet, then, I guess.

My wife did The Chop years ago and has stayed that way.

Nope I never plan on cutting my hair all off ever again.
I feel more beautiful the longer it gets.

Oh really? How short did she make it?

Oh, hers seems to get clipped when it reaches the collar.

My friend is that way. Her hair has never been longer than that.
Well, everyone has different, individual tastes, hair, piercings, tattoos, etc. For some ppl their tastes kind of change a bit as they get older.

This thread seems to have become quite popular, with lots of ppl chipping in with their views, and poll votes.

True. I know a few years back my taste in hair and cloths is way different then it is today.

Yup seems that way.

I've had REALLY long hair at one point - actually it was last summer that I finally got myself to cut it. I was getting a bit tired of it along with the warm weather around.

Shorter hair is okay, but I definitely prefer longer. Surprisingly enough when people kept asking me if it bothered me, it didn't as much as the shorter hair does now. Well, the length of mine now I consider short compared to what I had, which was past my back.

For guys I prefer shorter. :p Longer hair just doesn't seem all that attractive to me.

Well, my wife is way shorter now and it stays that way. Years and years ago it used to be right down her back.

Sounds like you are kind of in between the really cropped and the really long.

Yeah, we can say that. :p I don't know if I'll get myself to have it grow that long again though. Guess time will tell.

Sounds like you'd still more likely go longer than go really short.

(For some of us of the male species, thinning is kind of obligatory, with the years.)

Long hair, real long hair especially on a woman is very desirable.

On men I don't give a crap as long as you don't got some crazy 80s hairstyle that is blocking my view.

For myself, I guess I am a bipolar hair extremist lol. I pretty much let it grow for months then buzz it all off and repeat the process lol. Right now its fairly long, but not to my shoulders yet. Longest I ever grew it was in 10th grade, was down to my mid back when I went through my rock-n-roller phase. Never hazarded to grow it that long since, but I would like to some day.

i had really long hair for a while. it was such a bother! i grew sick of having to comb it and preen, and it takes more washing too.

in the summers (mine is somewhat thick i guess) also it was terribly hot. for a while i left it long but shaved a few inches of it underneath - almost like a mohawk, but without the hair spray.

once i cut my friends hair and he allowed it because we agreed he could cut mine too. i don't think he was happy with it.. he waited until the dead of winter and shaved me bald. his plan backfired though - i learned that freshly shaved heads provide an amazing velcro-like friction that holds toboggans on like super-glue. at that point too, i learned what freedom i had by having no hair to mess with. no more minutes spent in vanity before a mirror! whoo-hoo!

nowadays my wife cuts my hair to her liking. it never gets too long though because mid-summer i usually shave it all off for the sake of comfort. :)

i'd probably be satisfied with dreadlocks too. i find them attractive on men & women - but to add a caveat, if i find a woman attractive it rarely has anything to do with how long their hair is. i answered "shaved" because i really feel so much more comfortable not having hair - or not having hair i need to fuss over anyway - and also when i look at anyone for a length of time, at some point i stop seeing skin & flesh and hair and start thinking about bone structure and how the skeleton is posed. a bald head makes the skull easier to visualize. blame Paul's letter to the Romans; blame my art degree.

So you like dreadlocks! quite a few women seem to do it, and not only black women.

Does she read John Bunyan, too? :) I like the idea: postmodern, dreadlock-wearing readers of The Pilgrim's Progess. :)

In regards to the photos I'd say I like the first lady's hairstyle best.

The second hairstyle, I ain't crazy about, but a good bit of my friends did the Hair Art stuff when we were in highschool it was something of a trend, but that trend is now over.

Eh not a fan of the ultra-short hair on women, the last picture is the style I like the least.

EDIT: also in term of Dreadlocks, I think they're cool, I seen both my white and black friends do the Dreads nicely, but my hair is not suitable for dreadlocking. In terms of women with dreads, eh, not so much a fan of that, though some women look nice with dreadlocks, its just not my preference in a woman's hairstyle.
