Geez! You have me afraid to admit it was almost all different girls and women.
No, that last part was not aimed at you specifically, Willie, thank you for answering, I was just curious since you brought it up. And we do live in a world, or I was brought up in a world, that seemed to nudge and wink at young men to go sow their wild oats before settling down, but who were they supposed to be doing that with when girls/young women were so severely judged if they behaved in any kind of similar manner?

It's a good job I've never had children, with so much going on these days I
would never dare let them out of the house until they were 21.

As for daughters, the only way they would be alowed out with a boyfriend
would be with me riding shotgun!

Now thats how to protect an egg :)
21?

Liberal!

I always said if I had kids, they'd be locked in their rooms until 35. lol

My first wife had had sex with half my friends, and I had had sex with most of her friends.

Unfortunately some of my youth was like that also and it was very hurtful to
the point of being so painful I wanted to die and almost succeeded on a
number of occasions. This is getting interesting and very real for me but
unfortunately I must be about my day. Love to you, Willie! And you wife, also :):):)

I agree, but I have actually seen people agree to it at school based on peer pressure alone.....So peer pressure does actually have some affect on this even though it shouldn't.

Peer pressure is more than just saying everyone is doing it....
Amen. The amount of peer persecution that virgins were put through in the public high school I attended was mind-boggling. It was only by the grace of God that I came out undefiled. It hardened me into an independent rebel who actually preferred to stand apart and stand alone. If you didn't "make it" with the girls, then you were stamped as either impotent or homosexual. It is the young who Satan hits the hardest. Once a man finds out what his God given potential is in Christ, Satan's job becomes much more difficult.

In the UK it seems to be the trend that young women sleep around a much as young men.
Add alcoholic and drugs, partying into the mix and we end up with a lot of young mothers
and absent fathers. I don't think men alone can be blamed for the promiscuous behaviour, its
just that its the women who end up holding the baby.

If anything I think both men and women need to be taught more about actions and
consequences, something which is sadly lacking.

That's how it is in the US too.

Would it be foolish to admit that in high school I didn't give in to the pressure of dating, kissing or sex because I wanted to be able to pet a unicorn?

Before people laugh too hard, there is mention of a unicorn in the Bible along side a talking donkey.

I think I stop believing after I learned that one of my friends was raped. Stolen innocence and it's not always the girls we have to protect.

No longer content to teach kids about the mechanics of sex they now have to go into every tiny detail and the kids are now being taught this stuff way too young. As Miri says, kids need to be taught the consequences of their actions and basic moral codes and why they are in place. Of course in an ideal world they would also be taught the biblical stance but....well it's not going to happen is it.

On a different note one thing that should be taught in schools is money management because kids leave school without a clue on how to manage their money and pretty soon get themselves into debt.

Au contraire. The message should be mutual respect... respect for ourselves, and respect for others, especially the opposite gender.
All this respect for ourselves and others will profit us nothing unless we bow down to our Maker. The message we are to proclaim is the Gospel of Christ. Anything less is sand.

Now I have to ask -- once the two of you were married, did you keep the friends? I think I'd be blushing way too much to keep the friends.

21 is being generous, in the UK sex is legal at 16. :p
well... consent can be given at 16 in Indiana as well. however I understood 16 was considered marriage age in UK (ie marriage without parent consent)

When I think back to my childhood, teen years, I can't remember ever discussing sex with my parents. I don't think we even had the where do babies come from?, talk. I remember them talking us about it around grade 5, but not at home. I guess it's possible we never had a discussion about it. Maybe it was so awful that I blocked it out.

I can imagine my Father saying, don't and my Mother being really embarrassed. My Sister and I were discussing our family dog the other day. My parents never had him fixed, it was the seventies and I think animals were just supposed to know better. Once and a while a lady dog would come and visit Smokey and my Dad would spray them with the hose to try and get them apart, lol. I said to my Sister, good thing he never caught us or we'd get the hose.

Now there was this one guy in the service..... Wow. Maybe three different engagements in one night. He was SKINNY.

Kids can get married with parental consent at 16 and without it at 18.
But the parental consent thingy is now being phased out in various
parts of the country especially in Scotland.

My current wife was raised the same way.
