On the eve of Trumps visit to the UK at last I've heard him say something sensible. He stated that the UK should prepare to leave the EU without a deal and have Nigel Farage taking part in any negotiations. He also said that Boris Johnson would make a good Prime Minister. Im not so sure about that though.

The latest is that Gove would want us to extend the deadline until the end of 2020. I think we would all descend into insanity by then
I agree that we should prevent comrade Corbyn turning us into Venezuela's clone but that to me is a step too far.

No I haven't contacted the UN yet as we have a food bank not far from where we live.
Talking of food I have watched the Banquet attended by Trump at the Palace. After the speeches given by the Queen and the President
the BBC stopped the broadcast. I have a theory that due to cutbacks instead of them all tucking into haute cuisine they tucked into
Jellied Eels followed by Pie Mash and Liquor and Roly Poly with Custard served in Tupperware Dishes. After they had a traditional cockney Knees Up presided over by Barbara Windsor. What do you think about that?

Boris is in. A hard Brexit is going to happen. Glad to see the day quite frankly.

Everyone's worried about Brexit. I'm more concerned about a General Election happening before the year is out and Jeremy
Corbyne winning it. The possibility of having a neo Marxist government in power should keep most people awake at night
We could end up like Venezuela or being twinned with North Korea Maybe both!!

Corbyn will never get in. Everyone seems to be abandoning the Labour Party because of
him. I don’t know why they don’t kick him out.

Just curious; most here seem rather down on the EU, now, I don't have a dog in this race since I'm keen on neither the EU nor the Tories, but what exactly is it about the EU that you guys are so against?

https://newspunch.com/european-union-occult-symbolism/

Here you go.....loaded with occult symbolism.

"The adults – look closely, all the adults have block heads and bodies. This and the ‘architects’ nearby – symbolise these people have been fashioned into building blocks. Given they are celebrating and invested in the building of the tower, this could mean they have been conditioned or brainwashed into the project and all that it symbolises."

I hope your right but I really think there is a risk that Labour could still get in. Corbyn cant be kicked out because the extreme left have infiltrated and taken over the party, Corbyn is their puppet. There are many people who have either forgotten or were not born in the 1970s when the loony left last had influence. They still swallow the myth that Labour is the Party for the working classes. It is possible that Corbyn has done a deal with the SNP for them to back him in exchange for another independence referendum.

so who is the 'proper' party for the working classes? And by that I also mean the traditional left who have their roots in the working class, the unionists and so on? Are they ok to stay with labour?

I don't think there is a party for the working class anymore. In the UK it is doubtful whether a working class in the traditional sense
of the term still exists. The decline of manufacturing and other traditional working class industries such as mining together the improvement of living standards for the majority of people make it difficult to determine who belongs to any social group on a material level. The definition of poverty now includes people without some latest high tech gadget when it used to be applied to those who had inadequate housing food and clothing.

You know why that is.

You can’t claim job seekers allowance unless you have access to the internet,
both to make your claim and apply for jobs plus you have to upload your CV on the
claim.

Also many benefits now have to be claimed on line.

This is quite sensationalistic. You only have to look at Jeremy Corbyn's voting record and political history to see he is made in the mold of Atlee and Bevan, for whom we have to thank for the NHS; the Welfare system; labour rights; union powers; the minimum wage; women's rights and a plethora of other positive advancements in society.

Corbyn is an everyman, not a rich socialite.

By comparison, both Gove and Johnson have an appalling disinterest and even disdain for poor people.

Unfortunately, we live in a time now where those working class folks who would have voted for a Bevan or an Atlee in times gone by, and who worked alongside the Pakistani and Indian immigrants who rebuilt this country, are now the same class of people who have been seduced by the idea that if only they scapegoat immigrants for their own problems and vote for the upper class Tories, they too can join the exclusive socialite club and share the wealth.

It is like handing people a noose to hang themselves with.

That's Brexit: a lie sold to poor people with money from their own pockets.
