I was just honestly wanting to show how easy it is to look up, I don’t care if it came directly out of the Bible. Yes, the Bible is true, but with stuff like finding the Greek and Hebrew words, I don’t speak these languages, so I had to rely on google for help.

My links are just showing that yes, Greece and Hebrew countries do have their own form of martial art, which I honestly didn’t know till now, like I knew about gladiators and whatnot, but it was interesting to see it with their own words for their martial arts.

I just wanted to help by putting info in the thread, I’m done fighting. J-T can say I’m wrong, I don’t care anymore.
Awww you did nothing wrong. Please no one should limit you. If we don't ask questions, we never learn :) You asked a very appropriate question and some people just are very much misled or pull towards 1 small way of thinking. A wise person understands all views, all points and knows how to put them together :) I hope that helps! :)

my advice is simply... ask the Lord. He is faithful to answer. years ago, i watched a certain show. the story line was great. the quality was fantastic. the acting was awesome. but there were things here and there that weren't great. then the Holy Spirit nudged me to stop watching it. so guess what? i stopped watching it.

no one told me, "oh you shouldn't be watching that stuff!!!!!" i'm thinking if someone did that to me, i would be stubborn and kept my ways lol. instead, the Holy Spirit told me. He's so gentle and kind :)

Sarah, it is not my desire to fight with you, and it was never my intention. In fact, while drafting my last reply to your post, I thought that I was directing them to @posthuman, of whom I had challenged to show me where he could get "Martial Arts" from the Hebrew or Greek Texts, of which is impossible because they simply are not there. Otherwise, I would have worded the post much differently.

When I first encountered your other thread, I saw it as an opportunity to be a help in that aspect of the Ministry. There was a lot going on in that thread that I knew was wrong from those that were being Pharisaical, along with another that was of the opposite extreme of justifying the immorality of homosexuality. For me, it is sad when people genuinely seeking truth get caught in the crosshairs of both types as I had described, because along the way, people are stumbled, and sadly, also deceived. It is my prayer that anyone seeking truth is neither stumbled, nor deceived, and that if anything, they will simply pick up the Bible and read it, giving their full attention with prayer to God. There is a mix of people in this Forum, from baby Christians that are not fully mature, along with a slew of false teachers that are hell bent on keeping people deceived, because they themselves are deceived and deceiving. Subjects such as the ones tackled in this Forum are not easily unpacked, when there is so much details and sources to cite, most especially when there are many fighting against truth. It is my hope that you have a genuine love for truth and will not be so easily overtaken and pursuaded by the opeinions of others, and I hope that we might can try anew in having a much kinder and friendlier exchange of dialog.

J-T answer my question about wrestling and boxing or admit publicly you cannot answer it. I'm not going to bother refuting anything else you spew until you clear this one.

Martial Arts is not taught in the Bible, and the external definitions that you provided have absolutely nothing to with, nor originate from The Holy Bible. Again, from the figments of your own imagination, you are wresting a single verse of scripture to teach false doctrine.
does the word of God equip a believer for spiritual warfare?

The thread can return back to normalcy, nice.

So I decided to look through my anime list of completed shows, and according to MAL, these are anime that consider “Martial Arts” that I have seen/currently watching:

-Yu Yu Hakusho
-Katanagatari
- Ben-To
-Kenichi the Mightiest Disciple
- Kure-nai

And that looks to be it, but they do have Mobile G Fighter Gundam as a Martial Art show, but I would consider it to be more mech than Martial Arts. Looking at the list, other shows I’ve considered watching are the Baki the grappler series...and that’s honestly it. I do want to get around to watching Hajime no Ippo (It’s an anime about a boxer and his journey to get better), but it’s a really long series, but a lot of people say it’s amazing. But anyway, that’s all I have left to say what I know about martial arts, anime TV show wise, lol.

Rats! Now I'll never know how he justifies wrestling!

Okay, okay, I know... even if he had stayed I never would have found out... :cautious:

Only if it does not involve meditation. If it does, you might as well start cussing and drinking and sleeping around and all the other things Christians are not supposed to do, because you are doomed anyway.:sneaky:

I've seen one episode of Grappler Baki (グラップラー刃牙, Gurappurā Baki) and I wasn't disappointed. The series that introduced me to the show is the one on Netflix distinguished a little differently as Baki (バキ, New Grappler Baki: In Search of Our Strongest Hero). That's the one I recommend and no I'm not going to talk very much about it because I don't want to be that guy posting spoilers.

I think they are spiritually dark and practising them will allow evil into the person’s life. I think martial arts and yoga have spiritual roots.
