I've never quite understood why people are so fixated on homosexuality. They act like it's the only sin in the Bible mentions. I think people who are threatened about homosexuality must have latent homosexual tendencies
It's not about being "fixated" on it. Homosexuality destroys the family structure God intended for mankind.

You know, I hate to make myself sound like a jerk, but I really wish someone would ban Dude653.

I mean really, think about it. What does he do here. ALL he does is come here to talk about how terrible Christians are, how we all want a theocracy, he even equates Christianity with Islam all the time.

He may call himself a Christian, but he clearly hates Christianity. He constantly comes to these threads to try to shame people for following the Word of God. And he doesnt even debate with people! If you try to debate with him to get him to think about his stance, he just completely ignores everything you said and repeats his previous statement in a slightley different manner.

"Theocracy isnt freedom"

"if you want theocracy, move to saudi arabia"

"If Christians were in charge, no one would have rights but Christians"

I dont see any real good reason for Dude to be here, other than him having a place to spew his hateful thoughts towards those who follow God.

One thing I take seriously here is being someone who stands up for Christians who could be lead away and confused with false teachings, like I used to deal with that, being asked how I could believe in a God who hated people for doing things that "didnt hurt anybody". I know what it feels like to be afraid to speak about God when people throw that accusation at you, not knowing how to respond. So I strongly feel the need to be someone who speaks up to encourage others who may not know how, or have the courage to do so.
Im not trying to make myself sound heroic or anything btw, its just something that I feel strongly about, I dont want anyone to lose faith due to fear of those twisting God's word to make Him sound like some hateful monster, or make young Christians afraid to stand in the Word of God.

Dude is very much one of those people who goes off calling all who follow God's Word "hateful" and "bigots", so I definitely wanna call him out when I see him do it : p But hes even beaten me at that with the whole ignoring anything anyone says and just repeating his own statements over and over again : p

But like I said, he doesnt come here for anything more than to take his anger out on Christians, and he constantly causes anger and fights here on the forums by making baseless, hate-filled claims over and over and ignoring anyone who tries to talk about it. He only comes here to cause problems.

Yes YB your petition has probable cause. If my memory serves me right, dude is pro abortion and pro homosexuality. He disagrees with most christian beliefs. He just wants to tolerate non christians and does not want to affirm that christianity is the legitimate religion and just respect and watch the false prophets midlead too many people.

Because of people that judge like that, for a long time I didnt dare to speak out. Know the feeling. Many false apostles and disciples have gone out into the world. We just gotta keep standing up for God and his word and shield the ones who come in unknowingly.

Some people are just naturally contentious.. perhaps that's Dude. I have some ideas as to why he's that way, but I could be wrong.

I have seen occasions when he joins in a conversation in a fairly normal manner, but they are not frequent...

I do agree with him on some things... but usually disagree with the method of delivery.

He's correct to an extent... I have seen Christians discuss many topics about sin, but when homosexuality is mentioned, they go borderline ballistic. It does seem out of balance to their views of other sins, and their reaction to the "sinner" is usually more vocal.

This could be because of the open, "in your face" nature of that particular sin... I don't know.

lol yeah. I prayed for endurance, perseverance and patience and the next thing I know is my grades dropped, fighting with my mom nearly every day, I started loosing dozens of friends and I was like.. what the heck.. I couldnt sleep or anything. Then I sat down with a christian friends and he started to laugh and said '' did you pray for perseverence, patience or endurance?'' And I looked at him and said ''I prayed for all 3 and that God humbles me..'' and he burst out laughting and said ''well you got your answer.. If there some things to never pray about, then THAT''
Then I felt kinda stupid and I am glad that season is over lol!! It was multiple months

Well, He did give you your answer sis! Haha :)

There is one difference between homosexuality and other sins, though. People need to keep in mind that homosexuality is the ONE sin that people are turning into a civil rights issue. Its the one thats being used to prove that Christians are hateful monsters, and that no one should believe in God for being such a bigot ect ect.

It is unique in the way that its used against Christianity, and Christians are often attacked over it, and there are even many Christians who become afraid to stand by the Word of God, that homosexuality is wrong, because they are afraid of being called bigots and homophobes.

That is why it often causes these issues. Christians do not hate those who practice homosexuality, but they are aware that homosexuality is merely an urge that people have the ability to deny and ignore. But we are accused of hatred and murder and all of thee things because of it.

While homosexuality is a sin just like adultery and theft, its not treated the same by the world around us. Theres a clear difference with this topic.

I agree, but I also think that when Christians do speak out it is not to be in a hateful manner, but one that speaks love.
I think there are some proclaimed Christians that believe they are doing good by speaking out which is great but the thing is that when they speak out and just words of hate come spewing out that turns everyone away from the Father as well.
So I think we both have to watch our actions and words towards this particular sin

And unfortunately those proclaimed Christians are the ones the world uses to represent Christianity and all Christians so many automatically jump onto the conclusion that all Christians are hateful without really hearing what you have to say.

The minority represent the majority a lot in the society which is unfortunate but true

I agree with you here. I think sometimes some of the LBGTQ folks are just looking for a fight among Christians to try and accuse us of hating them. Not to say all are doing that, but it sometimes seems that some just want to shine a negative light on Christianity and are not wanting to really be saved or even be a member of a Church. It just seems it is something they want to do just to push their beliefs in our face and try to make us back down from the Word of God.

I think we should stand our ground and tell them the truth in love and then if they still refuse to hear, we should just shake the dust off our feet and walk away from such people. I think this is where we are instructed to not cast our pearls before the swine. I'm not just talking about gay folks here the same goes for any sin to where someone totally disregards God and his ways.

Exactly!

Thats why we should speak up with this issue. Yes, homosexuality is a sin, but yes, God is loving and merciful that He gave His own sacrifice that anyone guilty of sin may repent and be forgiven forever. And even if we slip up once more, we can again repent and continue our walk with Him. That God only hates sin, and not those who deal with temptation (which is every single one of us).

And yeah there are gonna be many people who are angry about that, because they want the life they want. But that doesnt mean we try to appease them : p They chose not to follow Him, then let them be and continue to seek those who seek Him, so that we can help them.

Regarding homosexuals, I think it's okay for women to love (platonic love) other women and men love other men, in the sense that God intended for us to love one another. But for a woman or man to be IN LOVE with another of their same gender, obviously is just wrong and unnatural, no matter how much they try to justify it..

Oh yeah, in fact one thing you have to be on guard for are the ones who will actually try to trap you into making you say "all gays should die", in order to prove to others how hateful you are : p

I try to get them thinking about why its wrong, over trying to defend the warnings about what will happen to those who wont repent.
