Am I just imagining things, or does there seem to be a group of (possible) trolls that has descended upon this site?

Who only seem to be interested in stirring up conflict and dishing out insults?

We feed them; they stick around
We don't feed them; they stick around

It's a catch-22.

You are right. The one good thing to come out of it is that people who have responded have seemed to be unified in saying that God's people do not use sarcasm and denigration to encourage others. The truth without love is worth nothing. Cruelty and rudeness are not the hallmarks of His children. When we see it we tend to say no to this. In effect there is a unity of faith that can pop up and I really appreciate the honest and good-hearted people who stand by their faith in Christ and testify to it in response. The trolls can try and create problems but truth clears it away.

To make life easier and time on forum a pleasant one..


I now just ignore possible trolls...go to their profile, click ignore. They are gone (to me anyway)
They dont add anything positive to discussion about our Lord and I dont miss them.

I don't do sarcasm either. Anything else amiss I just report.

If they are still sticking round you just tell them you are praying for them.
Then post a prayer on their thread.

It can go like this

Dear Lord this person really needs you. This person joined a Christian forum to be around Christians but they are not believing. The problem is they are not humble enough to go to you themselves so thats why we are interceding on their behalf. Lord have mercy on this person and shine a light into their darkened hearts. In Jesus mighty name amen.

Then Let God deal with them. He knows what to do.

its like people who go to the library and they are noisy because they just dont know how to read. If they admitted they didnt know how and wanted to learn then you could show them but try giving them a book to read and they are like 'books are boring' and then start acting rude and obnoxious.
so you wonder just why do they come into the library of their own free will in the first place? Its all a bit of a mystery. The air conditioning?

i can't imagine a world where books are boring. I know this is off topic but libraries have always been a magical place to me. The endless adventures inside the covers, and the ability to learn almost anything just by reading was so incredible as a child. I am still enchanted by libraries and books. Thanks for helping people journey through such a wonderful place.

No, it isn't your imagination. They, be it many or one behaving as many, are very real here. And I agree with you about starving them for our attention. But have you noticed? Which is why it is either a tight knit bunch of trolls together or one acting as many. Their posting style is identical to one another. They insist on promoting what is actually Heresy and Blasphemy. 2.) They accuse those who recognize that and call them out on it, or innocently try to persuade them toward the truth of scripture, names. And post threads that do too. And of course accusatory threads that make us out to pretty much be the ones who are the spawn of Satan.

I think there has to be some sort of reward for such effort. Besides watching Christians try to lead them to the truth and their getting a great laugh out of that effort expended. I'm thinking they maybe have a drinking bet going odds wise. How long will it take for our (my) account(s) to be banned. That type thing.

They have no life. Why would anyone who loves living who they are , where they are, waste hours doing such things online?

There seems to be a influx of false preachers coming in.. Preaching the Denial the Atonement of our LORD Jesus Christ who paid the penalty for our sins on the cross.. Such people should be banned ASAP..

Have y'all been hanging around the BDF too much? I haven't seen what y'all are talking about, but I stay mostly in Singles and Misc. forums. (Fori?) Which fori are they hanging out in a lot?

Trolls should give it up cos Christians arent goats so we not falling for their tricks. So hiding under the bridge wont work.

We have a God who parted the Red Sea. We're headed for the promised Land.
So its not likely anyone is fooled or distracted by their cries for attention and wanting to go back to Egypt where they are.

People regularly complain that trolls are descending on the site. I've lost track of how many times I've read this over the years.
As far as stirring trouble and dishing out insults, well that's been the norm for the BDF for years so not sure what the complaint is.

Sereriously though...

Maybe, just maybe... a troll will come in seeking to stir up, but instead find Jesus Stirring them up to repentance. Let's all pray for them.


I think Robo and Once do a great job with reguards to administrating the site overall. Though this is a Christian site, it still exist in a fallen world that needs Jesus.

Well there's your problem right there! BDF is good for only one thing. If you got trouble with low blood pressure, pop in there and read a few threads of people yelling at each other. That blood pressure will shoot right on up there.

Aside from that, avoid that forum. Like, the whole forum. Lots of people there who like to make themselves feel good by making other people look bad, and they can get real vicious about it. Acrimony, sanctimony, it got all the bad -monys in it. Almost as poisonous as antimony in there.
