LOL, Yeah, Cream had it goin on, they were a bit dark and moody for that period but they put out some fine music,When I see video's of them I don't even recognize Clapton. My husband is a huge Clapton fan and he says he can't picked him out from what he looks like now.

I always think of the Moody Blues when I think of Cream.

I found a product called Mad Hippie, it's for skin care :D. I got an exfoliant, a face wash and a facial cream. Gonna try the whole regimen.

Wish me luck!

Barry McGuire - Eve Of Destruction

The eastern world it is exploding
Violence flarin', bullets loadin'
You're old enough to kill but not for votin'
You don't believe in war but whats that gun you're totin'?
And even the Jordan River has bodies floatin'

But ya tell me
Over and over and over again my friend
Ah, you don't believe
We're on the eve of destruction

Don't you understand what I'm tryin' to say
Can't you feel the fears I'm feelin' today?
If the button is pushed, there's no runnin' away
There'll be no one to save with the world in a grave
Take a look around you boy, it's bound to scare you boy

And ya tell me
Over and over and over again my friend
Ah, you don't believe
We're on the eve of destruction

Yeah my blood's so mad feels like coagulating
I'm sitting here just contemplatin'
I can't twist the truth it knows no regulation
Handful of senators don't pass legislation
And marches alone can't bring integration
When human respect is disintegratin'
This whole crazy world is just too frustratin'

And ya tell me
Over and over and over again my friend
Ah, you don't believe
We're on the eve of destruction

Think of all the hate there is in Red China
Then take a look around to Selma, Alabama
You may leave here for four days in space
But when you return it's the same old place
The pounding of the drums, the pride and disgrace
You can bury your dead but don't leave a trace
Hate your next door neighbor but don't forget to say grace

And tell me
Over and over and over and over again my friend
You don't believe
We're on the eve of destruction
Mmm, no, no, you don't believe
We're on the eve of destruction

Lol it always strikes me when people say stuff like Cream is dark and moody lol. Maybe it's one of those generational things, but dark and moody are like the last two words I'd use to describe Cream, even the vast majority of the bands of that era. To me Cream is like happy sounding (Anyone For Tennis?) and/or just straight trippy (Sunshine of Your Love).

Also for me I like Clapton a lot too, one of the best all time guitarists for sure. Some of his solo stuff is for sure dark and moody. Clapton is one of those consummate musicians though that can't really be pegged down to one genre or one generation, is just an all around musician.

Kantner founding member of Jefferson Airplane died.
R.I.P., Paul. Your music reached in and moved my soul.

Whatever I do, there will be love in it
Whatever I see, I will see you in it
Whatever I do, there will be love in it
Even when I close my eyes
All I see is you.

Oh, oh, the sunshine of your smile
Oh, oh, the music of your voice
Oh, oh, when you lay your body by
Oh, oh, the night was made for love.

Oh, baby, the way we move in love
Oh, baby, the way we movin'
Oh, baby, the way we move in love
Oh, baby, the way we movin' now.

Whatever I do, there will be love in it
Whatever I see, I will see you in it
Whatever I do, there will be love in it
Even when I close my eyes
All I see is you.

And I could fly, fly, fly, fly, fly, fly.

I made an ark from the light of the stars
And I hewed two mesas of bright silver metal
That sang in the sun like a sail in the wind
And I weave my way back to you
Now I can fly.

Oh, baby, the way we move in love
Oh, baby, the way we movin'
Oh, baby, the way we move in love
Oh, baby, the way we movin' now.

Whatever I do, there will be love in it
Whatever I see, I will see you in it
Whatever I do, there will be love in it
Whatever I see, I will see you
Whatever I do, I will do you
Whatever I see, I will see you
Whatever I do, I will love you
Whatever I do, there will be love in it
Whatever I see, I will see you in it
Whatever I do, there will be love in it
Even when I close my eyes
All I see is you.

White Rabbit was the first song I ever sang at karaoke LOL :)
But this has always been one of my fave Jefferson Starship songs
:D

Jefferson Starship - Ai Garimasu

Ai child you are timeless and I love you
Child that I see
And I see you tryin' to lean towards kindness
Now that's what I like to see

That's what I like to see
I want to see your love
And I want to feel
I want to feel your love

Ai Garimas sometimes loving in the rain
Some feel like steel, some taste like candy
Ai Garimas the same in any language
The same in any name
Call it what you feel
Call it whatever's handy
We don't have to know the name
We don't have to have the same name
We don't have to have any name at all
All cause you gave me your love
And now I know just exactly who to call

That's what I like to see
I like to see your love
And I want to feel
I want to feel your love

We don't have to know the name
We don't have to have the same name
We don't have to have any name at all
Cause you gave me your love
And now I know just exactly who to call

This song visited me yesterday. Still love the James Gang Rides Again album :)

James Gang - Tend My Garden/Garden Gate

Would you like to come home with me?
I can think of things to show ya
Thinkin' that I'd like to know ya, uh
Mornin' milkman's comin'
Get up, greet my day
Evenin' brings the sun in
Still I find my way

Change of plans, makin' a landin' to see ya
And I do wanna be your man, oh, yeah
Sunday, highway drivin'
It all looks about the same
Nowhere, just arrivin'
Still I play the game

I'm home grown, growin' my own and I need ya
Need ya to beg my pardon, to tend my garden
Flowers, she's sittin' for poses
She wants me to sing my song
Hours, she's like a stoned Moses
Guess I'll sing along

***

Well I’m sitting in the middle of a story
Would you like to read my line
Sipping on a morning glory
Would you like to taste my wine
Don’t forget to tell the sun
I sleep through the day
See him when the morning comes
Everything’s OK

The captain’s in the chart room
Navigating on a star
Can’t know where we’re going
'Cause he don’t know where we are
Don’t you think I don’t know
How to tell the time
Can’t you see you can’t sell me
Something that is mine

You just sit to talking
And I’m sure there’s nothing said
Your book is lying open
And I don’t think much is read
The dog is outside barking
At something he can’t see
The garden gate is closing

CSN&Y Déjà Vu was one of my fave LPs also :)

Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young - 4 + 20

Four and twenty years ago, I come into this life,
The son of a woman and a man who lived in strife.
He was tired of being poor and he wasn't into selling door to door
And he worked like the devil to be more.

A different kind of poverty now upsets me so.
Night after sleepless night, I walk the floor
and I want to know- why am I so alone?

Where is my woman can I bring her home?
Have I driven her away? Is she gone?

Morning comes to sunrise and I'm driven to my bed.
I see that it is empty and there's devils in my head.
I embrace the many colored beast.
I grow weary of the torment, can there be no peace?

And I find myself just wishing that my life would simply cease.

"Cross Road Blues" (more commonly known as "Crossroads")
is a blues song written and recorded by American blues artist
Robert Johnson in 1936. Johnson performed it as a solo piece
with his vocal and acoustic slide guitar in the Delta blues-style.
The song has become part of the Robert Johnson mythology as referring
to the place where he supposedly sold his soul to the Devil in exchange
for his musical talents, although the lyrics do not contain any specific
references.

NEIL YOUNG - OLD MAN

(We were all so much younger then!)

Old man look at my life,
I'm a lot like you were.
Old man look at my life,
I'm a lot like you were.

Old man look at my life,
Twenty four
and there's so much more
Live alone in a paradise
That makes me think of two.

Love lost, such a cost,
Give me things
that don't get lost.
Like a coin that won't get tossed
Rolling home to you.

Old man take a look at my life
I'm a lot like you
I need someone to love me
the whole day through
Ah, one look in my eyes
and you can tell that's true.

Lullabies, look in your eyes,
Run around the same old town.
Doesn't mean that much to me
To mean that much to you.

I've been first and last
Look at how the time goes past.
But I'm all alone at last.
Rolling home to you.

Old man take a look at my life
I'm a lot like you
I need someone to love me
the whole day through
Ah, one look in my eyes
and you can tell that's true.

Old man look at my life,
I'm a lot like you were.
Old man look at my life,
I'm a lot like you were.

Here's another moody Cream song

Thinkin' 'bout the times you drove in my car.
Thinkin' that I might have drove you too far.
And I'm thinkin' 'bout the love that you laid on my table.
I told you not to wander 'round in the dark.
I told you 'bout the swans, that they live in the park.
Then I told you 'bout our kid, now he's married to mabel.
Yes, I told you that the light goes up and down.
Don't you notice how the wheel goes 'round?
And you better pick yourself up from the ground
Before they bring the curtain down,
Yes, before they bring the curtain down.
Talkin' 'bout a girl that looks quite like you.
She didn't have the time to wait in the queue.
She cried away her life since she fell off the cradle.

Lol I know all these Cream songs, no still don't find them dark and moody. Some of them are bluesy though for sure

Not trying to break from the topic too much, but just to give you an idea of what I think is dark and moody:

This is so cute, and really shows how personable Neil could be.
His voice is pure gold. He does not start singing until about 1:49 :)

Neil Young - Heart of Gold

I want to live,
I want to give
I've been a miner for a heart of gold.
It's these expressions
I never give
That keep me searching for a heart of gold.

And I'm getting old.
Keep me searching for a heart of gold
And I'm getting old.

I've been to Hollywood
I've been to Redwood
I crossed the ocean for a heart of gold.
I've been in my mind,
It's such a fine line
That keeps me searching for a heart of gold.

And I'm getting old.
Keeps me searching for a heart of gold
And I'm getting old.

Keep me searching for a heart of gold.
You keep me searching and I'm growing old.
Keep me searching for a heart of gold
I've been a miner for a heart of gold.
