Lol yea Black Sabbath is pretty dark and moody I'll give you that, though I was thinking they are more 1970s. Kinda post-hippy. Lol Black Sabbath actually first CD I ever got, my carnal pops bought it for me one day when I came home after listening to Ozzy the first time and asked him if he knew any Ozzy. Lol he went out right away and got me some Black Sabbath and Ozzy cds. I think he was just happy I showed an interest in the classic rock instead of rap, though I do like rap too.

Haven't actually listened to Ozzy or Black Sabbath for a long time. Lol funniest Ozzy story I know is my friend's dad Big John whom passed away recently was a huge Ozzy fan. Well one day I'm over there with some other friends, one of them is the drummer for that band Fatal Method. And we start debating Ozzy and Black Sabbath and my drummer friend says "I think Ozzy isn't that great of a vocalist, he has very weak voice."

And my friend's dad, Big John, gets all heated over it and my drummer friend says "Ozzy sucks." Lol Big John gets up and points to the door and says "get out, you're not welcome here ever again!" We thought he was joking at first but he weren't joking he insisted and my drummer friend left. Lol only time I ever seen someone literally exiled over rock n roll. Lol me and my other friends still laugh about it to this day.

I went to see Alice Cooper around my 16th birthday :)
Loved their Love It To Death LP. I'm 18... what a great song!
This one is called Sun Arise, but for dark and moody, try Ballad Of Dwight Fry.

I was never into "Shock Rock".

I like Alice Cooper too, good stuff. Also one of the first rockers I got music of. Lol it is funny this is what's considerred "shocking" to the older generations. The only thing that is shocking about it to my generation is why were ya'll in the 1970s and 1960s into that androgyny stuff? It's not even that shocking its just kinda..uh..gay I guess is the only word for it. Lol forreal I never did figure out why ya'll were into that stuff. Just weird man.

Remember this one?
No, never heard of the woman. Only know that she and Dusty Springfield were in a relationship at one time. Really only remember Peter, Paul and Mary, didn't listen to Joan Baez, liked the Kinngston Trio.

And who in the heck could understand Dylan, you needed an interpreter! :p

Simon and Garfunkel have many to choose from; this one is very sweet :)

Simon and Garfunkel -
For Emily, Whenever I May Find Her

What a dream I had
Pressed in organdy
Clothed in crinoline
Of smoky Burgundy
Softer than the rain

I wandered empty streets
Down past the shop displays
I heard cathedral bells
Tripping down the alleyways

As I walked on

And when you ran to me, your
Cheeks flushed with the night
We walked on frosted fields
Of juniper and lamplight

I held your hand

And when I awoke and felt you warm and near
I kissed your honey hair with my grateful tears
Oh, I love you, girl

Social attitudes have really changed toward sexuality ;) But, yeah, my best friend's mother was quite concerned about us listening to Black Sabbath  She was a strong Christian woman... we just liked the music. The music, the music, always the music :)

Na na na na na na Batman!
That's just cheesy! LOL

Okay, more music from my teen years, sigh, how is it I can remember being
a sixteen year old so well? This may well be my fave Zep song of all time :)

Led Zeppelin - Tangerine

Measuring a summer's day,
I only finds it slips away to grey,

The hours, they bring me pain.

Tangerine, Tangerine, Living reflection from a dream;
I was her love, she was my queen,
And now a thousand years between.

Thinking how it used to be,
Does she still remember times like these?
To think of us again? And I do.

Lol i don't know if they have really changed all that much. I know in the news media my generation gets a bad rap for the gay crap, but in my opinion I think that stuff is still on ya'll old generation. Despite the media casting my generation as being supportive of the evil homo stuff, in my generation that stuff is very frowned upon. The media simply doesn't report how my generation feels about all that because the media is controlled by your generation that has some absurd agenda to make everything gay as hell.

Written by Greg Lake when he was just twelve years old, recorded by
Emerson Lake and Palmer for their debut LP released in 1970, using
improvised arrangements, containing one of the first Moog synthesizer solos:

Emerson, Lake & Palmer - Lucky Man

He had white horses
And ladies by the score
All dressed in satin
And waiting by the door

Ooh, what a lucky man he was

White lace and feathers
They made up his bed
A gold covered mattress
On which he was laid

He went to fight wars
For his country and his king
Of his honor and his glory
The people would sing

A bullet had found him
His blood ran as he cried
No money could save him
So he laid down and he died

Lol what? Are we talking about Ozzy again?

Lol I find it funny old people don't like other old people's music. Reminds me of my former uncle a big Rush fan talking about how in his day him and his clique hated the kids that listen to AC/DC and think they are white trash. I had to laugh because I like both Rush and AC/DC.

Lol if you want a trip into the millenial mind just listen to Eminem. Lol sadly I cannot post any of Eminem's songs here, but without a doubt Eminem is greatest living poet bar none. There's just no way to top Eminem's lyrical prowess, it cannot be done.

Alice Cooper (Vincent Damon Furnier) was the one who used to bite the heads off chickens during his shows, and have snakes and stuff. It was all for the shock value, no doubt, and probably increased his press coverage. ;)
