Sigh. I dont like calorie counting but it's a good way to lose weight. In order for me to lose weight, i need not to go beyond 1390 calories/day. O.O The downside of being short. Lols
1 tbsp of Organic Apple Cider plus a glass water will help in increasing your metabolism and it's also good for internal organs. :)

One of the main things I've learned from trying to correct my diet is not to drink my calories. To lose weight I have to keep my daily intake between 1100-1200 calories (I'm short). So I can't waste any of those precious calories in a drink. But I don't like to drink just plain water so I've come up with this alternative that works good for me:

In a pitcher of water I add about 4-5 teabags of herbal tea (peppermint, ginger,2 milk thistle, and whatever else looks good)..I cut off the strings and let them remain in the pitcher.
-add crushed cinnamon sticks
-add 3-5 slices of lemon (I was putting a whole lemon in but I started getting fever blisters...too alkaline?)
-several drops of liquid stevia (NOW's "Better Stevia" is great!)

As I drink it, I add more water and liquid stevia. It becomes too diluted after two days so I then throw everything out and start over.

If I have time, I'll put everything in hot water to steep for awhile, let cool, and then put in the fridge.

Some people add fruit, like strawberries, or veggies, like sliced cucumbers. It's fun to experiment :).

The lemon and milk thistle is supposed to be very good for the liver. Our poor livers are in terrible shape...at least for those eating the standard American diet.

What a simple, good idea! If you add about an 1/8 teas of vitamin C grains to that, should be able to climb mountains in no time.

If it natural, it would serve against cancer.

Now WAIT a minute! I think that anyone who eats broccoli any way is plain smart! I sprout the seeds and eat the sprouts. There is a chemical in the broccoli sprouts (can't spell it) that is up to 32 times greater in the sprouts than the full grown and that chemical gets rid of a cancer I read in the Mayo Clinic site.

No soda, coffee for me. I usually just make fruit shake; mango, apple etc.,
but nothing beats this one
moringa-juice.jpg
Moringa oleifera (Malunggay) juice
7x the Vitamin C in Oranges
4x the Calcium in Milk
4x the Vitamin a in Carrots
3x the Potassium in Bananas
3x the Iron of Spinach
2x the Protein in Milk
2x the Protein in Yogurt
It has 90 nutrients, 46 antioxidants, 36 anti-inflammatory properties, 18 amino acids, anti-cancer properties, anti-bacterial properties, anti-aging properties, properties that keep bad cholesterol in check, omega-3 oils, and chlorophyll.

I'm lucky we have this tree in our yard so when I stumbled upon this blog Malunggay (Moringa)- How to make Juice | Cris on the sidelines's Weblog , I immediately made one.

I'm excited! I just ordered kombucha starter. I have never tasted kombucha, I hear it is very good. It has the probiotics, and with food processing, refrigeration and freezing, and antibiotics we take, any fermented food is a blessing.

Wish me luck, they say it is easy to make with tea, but if it molds it has to be thrown out.

Tonight I ate PAPAYA!

Here in Venezuela we are scarce of milk. I wish I were my home but, before loosing all that fruit, I cleaned and started to bite half of it (The rest I put it into the freezer to save the leftover)

Mom said it's good to heal my sores. :p

Water, black coffee and green tea. Green tea is really exceptional in it's health producing effects. Green tea can reduce inflammation, slow the aging process, stimulate and improve cognition and even reduce the risk of lung cancer. I get mine at the Asian market. I buy the kind labelled "Special Gunpowder from Fukien". I've been taking it for years. I am turning 32 and most people in their late teens or early twenties are shocked to realize I'm at least a decade older. I tell them it's the green tea, while I can not know for certain that that's what it is.

100% orange juice is my favorite beverage right now. I force myself to drink water, even though I hate it lol. I stay away from sodas and other carbonated drinks.

I drink water with every meal and in between too. I also drink black coffee, but occasionally have it with milk like in cappuccino form. Sometimes I'll have unsweetened ice tea. Occasionally I'll drink it hot too. With dinner I like to drink Tart a Cherry juice for inflammation and muscle pain. I also use my juicer when I can. And I love Almond milk and Kefir too! Those are all the beverages I enjoy.

I drink coffee regularly, with lots of sweetened creamer in it. I also drink a glass of milk every day, about half the time it's raw. I drink tea and juice rarely, and soda very rarely. I mostly drink water, I've committed to drinking 3 liters of water a day.

I've tried juicing.

It generally makes me sick to my stomach and I'm not sure why, except I am sensitive to citrus and other foods. Plus I don't buy organic (cost factors).

But I've tried juicing carrots, apples, and some green veggies in various strengths and combinations and they do not give me energy, they just make me sick.
I believe in eating healthy, and I think juicing is beneficial, but I have not found the right combo of veggies and fruits that work for me.

Any suggestions?
