Is it possible to have a thread shut down? Is it possible to have a thread removed? Is it possible to have certain posts in a thread removed?

Is there a place to go that questions like these are answered?

What I'd suggest and I may be wrong, lol, but why not report it and then when you express what you are reporting...ask if the thread can be made to where no more comments are allowed. I can't guarantee it will happen but if it is your thread, he, the mod here who makes those kinds of decisions, may take it into consideration.

This is the wrong place to ask. User2User Tech is the right place.

But since you've asked, entire threads being removed, no. Not if others have responded, especially.
Getting posts removed is rare. Unless you've broke the rules or shared too much (which they may just edit out the unwanted bits) then chances are slim.
The flow of threads and the sense the conversation makes can change if individual posts begin getting removed.
Basically be sure you what you say you're ok with saying and proof read before posting as you're going to have to live with it, like it or not.

If it your own thread, by all means. But if it is someone else's then if you do not like what is there don't bother with it. Some threads are simply locked.

We need to come up with a more 'Christian name' for one. And the answer is YES.
😄
I didn't read the thread that you are probably talking about. It was a Wild guess, but I don't think we're the only ones that thought that. Lol

The closest thing that comes to mind when I think of trolls is the term rejected. That's what I do. I don't want to associate with them...The Bible term for "reject or rejected" is Reprobate. That sounds even stronger to me.
I don't think God rejects everyone that I've rejected and given up on, but I have thought about using that term elsewhere when appropriate.
In public, if you get a cold shoulder or rare insult, you might thank them, "have a nice day" and walk away. It's not quite that easy in a forum. Someone who's always an angry man, you either end membership and leave altogether or you're locked into the forum together with no escape. I don't want to "feed the trolls", but "Ignore function" allows them to slander unimpeded until eventually the dirt they sling sticks to the wall and people start believing their lies. It's not quite as simple in a forum as in other public settings, IF you have friends there.

"This comes to mind from Proverbs 22
Make no friendship with an angry man; and with a furious man thou shalt not go:"

Let's thank the Lord and thank that kind Moderator who made the tough call.

If the Moderator who made that decision happens to read this, Thank you from the bottom of my heart sir. It's a tough job overseeing a group this size of folks from all different perspectives on Christianity.
You have my respect and gratitude for balancing free speech with keeping the peace.

Blessings,

To your health and happiness

Is that OnceFallen with the cool looking wolf avatar?

I thought that I saw two more names just this morning but probably just sleepy and made a mistake.
I sent a message to the RoboOP. We will see if it gets to someone or not. I thought it had been removed but it hasn't yet. We'll see...Let us pray...Gods will be done...

Yes, that is correct regarding the name of the one forum mod :)

The other names you may see in Staff Online are the site owner, and the chat room mods, who have nothing to do with the forums :)

There is another person who has admin power to approve threads (unless that has changed),
but they have no ability to perform any other function aside from what regular members have :D

So I don't know if we are speaking of the same person, but obviously the same 'type'

Angry Christian soul - ACS Angistoul

We should have a contest or take a poll RENAME THE TROLL

Hymeneus, an opponent of Christianity -- Hymenaeus.

You funny :D Yay, I have been here over seven years now :giggle:

I have learned a few things and like being helpful when I can (y):)

PS~ the person who is able to approve threads may not show up in the Staff Online section.

I am just not sure about that...
