Hello and welcome to Christian Chat. Most of us were not acquainted with posting in the forums when we first joined CC. It doesn't take long to learn. You did a good job with your first post above.

We are glad you have joined us and look forward to getting to know you. Welcome! :)

"Great. Having been 'saved' that many years, it would be a joy to hear how your life has
been affected by this conclusion, and how you maintain a relationship with Christ our Lord."

Am I doing this wrong?
Welcome to CC.

These are forums (like a message board) so when you post something it will be here later for others to see (unlike live chat where you have to be here to be part of the conversation). So you don't have to worry about your text speed. You can join in wherever/whenever.

A few basics are that all new posts go into pending mode until the mods approve and post them publicly. (When you created this thread you may not have seen it after posting and wondered what happened, that would be the reason)
However, when you reply/ post on already existing threads it will post and be viewable right away.

If you have questions don't hesitate to ask. There are a lot of helpful, knowledgeable and resourceful members here.
There is also an area for tech support/help. When you're on the main page scroll down to the bottom of the forums list until you find User2User Tech Support you mind find your questions have been answered here (or feel free to make new threads ).

Enjoy your time here.

Oh! One more thing.
There is a 5 minute edit window. Once you hit "post" if you need to make changes you have 5 minutes to do so.

Some people use phones to post, or even on a laptop or desktop, and may use speech-to-text software.
I think it's built into phones. That would make composing posts very quick and easy. If someone has a
phone and another device like a laptop, they can compose the message on the phone by speech, preview
it, and then get on their other device, come to the thread where they have a message in draft, and it will
show up there, making editing on the other device easy. I mention all that because I find editing and
posting in general on my phone to be a pain, but using the speech-to-text, especially if and/or when
I know I have a lot to say, is great. To make sure a longer post saves the draft in full you can use the
second to the last icon on the right hand side above the message box. It looks like a floppy disk (haha,
remember those???) with a downward pointing arrow... click on that to save draft, or delete it. A little
green light comes on while it is performing that function. Likewise, if you start to make a post some-
where and decide to abandon it without actually sending it, make sure to delete it, or it will show up
the next time you are in the same thread and will post along with any new post made. If you are
deleting by hand please please please make sure not to delete any of the coding if you are quoting.
Messed up quotes gets quoted over and over again and it really is a big (and otherwise avoidable) mess.

You are doing great, brother Trav! :)(y)

Hi I'm trav791 new to this never been to a chat room. I'm slow texting, but was desiring to hear people talk about Christ.

I am slow at texting also, but Chat doesn't work well. I have grown to like the Bible Discussion Forum. Must learn to recognize and ignore "trolls" :devilish: though.

A warm welcome to you, dear brother.
