Perhaps you can stay in your "safe place" thread.. you coming to comment and show how much you are above all here, just put you right beside.

But you'd have to wipe your pride out of your eyes to see it
I'm not involved in all this petty BDF bickering, but this was a childish comment, even for the BDF.

All of you pointing fingers, when you're all actually guilty. It takes two to tango. Perhaps spend less time justifying your own comments, and criticizing others and take an objective look at your comments. If the things you were saying to others were said to you would you still find it acceptable?
But it's fruitless to talk to people here. The levels of pride and lack of personal awareness in here is insane.

The verses just prior say:

A Tree Is Known by Its Fruit

43 “For a good tree does not bear bad fruit, nor does a bad tree bear good fruit. 44 For every tree is known by its own fruit. For men do not gather figs from thorns, nor do they gather grapes from a bramble bush.45 A good man out of the good treasure of his heart brings forth good; and an evil man out of the evil treasure of his heart[g] brings forth evil. For out of the abundance of the heart his mouth speaks.

So either we ARE good trees, and produce good fruit, or we aren't.
Either we ARE born again and ARE His children, or we aren't.
If we are, we are a NEW creation, and by the nature of that NEW creation He will cause us to bring forth good fruit because we are a part of Him, and get ALL that we need naturally by Him to produce that fruit.

A bad tree, try as HARD as it can, CAN'T produce good fruit.
A child of the father of lies, try as hard as he can, CAN'T be a child of God. By nature he will produce bad fruit

Where so many get it wrong is they call good morals good fruit.

Mormons can have excellent morals..... but no good fruit at all.

JW's will have good morals..... same boat.

So when someone comes on CC acting all soft-n-cuddly, that don't mean jack.

When someone bashes another member, & 5 minutes later they're saying nice things, those nice things don't cover up their evil.

Such evil actions ARE evil, the REAL fruit of the individual. An act of niceness don't count.

ANYBODY can act nice.

Satan can impersonate an angel of light..... Does his niceness count?

Ok. Not sure what the point is here, but I don't disagree with any of that.

That's why I have him on ignore. about 85 % of what he says is a slam on others, while ignoreing the fact he does the very thing he attacks others for.

I agree with him about the fruit also. Fruit is not morals. But the rest of what he said was just a slam on people.

Hi. I'm new. Trying to figure out how to communicate with other believers on here. :)
Seems to me that you're off to a good start. To respond to a particular post click on 'Reply With Quote' and then write your post below that. That makes it easier for someone to respond knowing who was quoted. If you just want to include your post with no quote just click on 'Post Quick Reply'. Proper communication is a good thing. Glad to have you onboard with us. Welcome to CC.

I clicked on a person to ignore, then under settings I saw"edit ignore list" clicked on it and boom! there they all were! In a neat little pile.
I have 8 ignored, & 2 of them banned.

The other 6 ought to be.:)

OMG! Figured out how to see who is on my ignore list in one place. Shocked to see the number at 35!

12 have already been banned. Guess I had good instincts there. Maybe another 13 hasn't posted in over a year.

That only leaves about 10 active ignores. I can live with that!
Amen...we need to guard our hearts.

Romans 16:17

Romans 16:17 (KJV)
[SUP]17 [/SUP] Now I beseech you, brethren, mark them which cause divisions and offences contrary to the doctrine which ye have learned; and avoid them.

Then we can be defiled by the behavior of others. It's like porn ads coming up on our PC from time to time - it's disturbing and ungodly.

Hebrews 12:15 (NASB)
[SUP]15 [/SUP] See to it that no one comes short of the grace of God
; that no root of bitterness springing up causes trouble, and by it many be defiled;

That's the reason for not interacting with some people that consistently exhibit bad behavior. It's ok to agree to dis-agree but then they start with the personal attacks - I ignore them and don't interact with them. Some feel they are not having bad behavior because it is a normal way for them but they are behaving badly.

Even if people agree with most things that I do - if they start behaving badly and continue in that way - I'll not interact with them until there is the right environment amongst us brethren and respect for each other as there should be.

We will know by the Spirit when it's time to interact with them again but in the meantime not interacting with them stops adding fuel to the fire.

We just bless them in the name of the Lord and leave them in the hands of the Lord. He will reveal Himself to all of us that belong to Him.

Satan and his horde do not come to the believer in Christ and say "Sin all you want" because no one would for fall for such a lie.

Instead they come
as "ministers of righteousness".

They want us to live by our own D.I.Y. self-righteousness/holiness so that we will be not be depending on what Christ has done for us by grace through faith alone for salvation.

This cuts us off from receiving the grace of God in our lives.

2 Corinthians 11:14-15 (KJV)
[SUP]14[/SUP] And no marvel; for Satan himself is transformed into an angel of light.

[SUP]15[/SUP] Therefore it is no great thing if his ministers also be transformed as the ministers of righteousness; whose end shall be according to their works.

( notice that is "their" works )

This below in 1 Peter 1:13 is what satan is really after...this is why he has false prophets/teachers in our midst.

He wants us to fall away from grace and depend on our own performance and human will-power instead of what Christ has done in His finished work on the cross and resurrection.

1 Peter 1:13
[SUP]13 [/SUP] Therefore, prepare your minds for action, keep sober in spirit, fix your hope completely on the grace being brought to you at the revelation of Jesus Christ.

If faith came from God, how could you lose it? Did God fail?

Only if faith comes from self can it fail and "fall away"

I do not have to do away with anything God says to believe my salvation is secure in Him, It is based on him

1. He died for me
2. He drew me after I started to seek him and helped me understand the true gospel
3. His work and his promise I deemed trustworthy, so I placed my trust in him
4. He adopted me
5. He gave me the right to be called his child
6. He washed me and made me white as snow
7. He justified me
8. He redeemed me
9. He atoned my sin
10, He took what was contrary to me and nailed it to the cross
11. He perfected me
12. He gave me his seal
13. He made me alive
14. He will grow me as I learn to trust him more
15. If i walk astray, He will come find me, I know his voice, because I am his sheep. and I will gladly follow
16. He will chasten me when I get out of line, Who can withstand the lords chastening
17. He will give me the desires of my heart if my heart is aligned with his
18. He will protect me if the desires of my heart are not aligned with his ( I know he knows what is sbest, I may not be happy about it at the time, but I trust him)
19. He will complete the work he started in me, and make sure it is finished.

No, to me, to say salvation can be forfiet is to you must do away with prety much ALL he said.. and make his promises depend on the power of self. not on the power of himself.

1. My God is omniscient, I can not fool him into thinking I have faith when I do not
2. My God knew me and all my sin (past present and future to me) were future when he died, He paid for them all not just some, When I came to him, I asked forgiveness for all. not just my past. Because I was not proud enough to think I would never think again, it would be worthless for me to just trust God to forgive me of my past sin, and not ask him to forgive my future also.

I can go on and on and on. But no, I can not agree with you on this subject, I am sorry.

Yes, we cannot agree. But we can walk in love, in the Spirit. :)

I agree and this brings up the thought - just what is fruit? In the minds of people it can be different. To some Pentecostal churches I have seen - if you stop going to their church - you are in apostasy and not bearing fruit.

Other denominations may have a "different criteria" but they are cut from the same cloth in their "fruit assessment".

Another aspect that goes with "fruit inspectors" is just what is fruit? And what does this fruit look like. What if as an analogy a Christian is like an orange tree?

An orange tree is still an orange tree even though it doesn't produce the fruit we want to see in the timeframe we think it should. What happens if this orange tree dies before it has had a chance to be fed properly to grow up to be able to produce the fruit of a ripe orange?

To some works-based people - you would have to display 50 oranges in order to prove you are a real orange tree ( saved ) - to others you need 100 oranges in order to be a proved orange tree. ( saved ) So, this fruit inspection thing is not viable ..that's for God to look at people to determine if they are in Christ or not.

A person could have love and kindness as a fruit in their life but be addicted to some pills or alcohol which they are continuing to struggle with in their life or outbursts of anger..etc.

We religious people love to "categorize" sin - especially the ones that we have never done before and then look down on those that do have a problem that we don't. We say that they are "sinning" - and they are but so are we in other areas too. We all have the flesh to deal with and none of us behaves perfectly in our behavior.

The people that don't have a struggle with alcohol ( or basically anything that they themselves don't struggle with in their flesh that others do ) will condemn the ones that do have these struggles in the flesh and declare they don't have the fruit and thus are not saved. This is Pharisee-ism at it's finest.

Does the orange tree stop being an orange tree even though it dies without having fruit that we think "proves" it was an orange tree to begin with?

An orange tree is still an orange tree even before it yields the manifested growth of the fruit we call an orange.

What if Christians were like that? What if we fed them messages about the abundance of grace and the gift of righteousness in Christ so that they could grow? Then they would produce an abundance of fruit.

I say let's preach and teach the grace of Christ in their lives so that they have the proper nutrients to grow up in Him!

Read it again and keep reading.

It's interesting how persons tend to see what they want to see.
And,,,I knew you would pick out that one sentence.

Care to share the rest?
You already did. Why would I need to do it again?

The article doesn't support your statement. I was surprised because I thought it would since you posted it,
