Warning?

Ooooooooooooooooo I'm quaking in my boots!

The only warning needed here is that of believing you have to only lock on God's truth.

The HOLY SPIRIT led me to believe that you are throwing the baby out with the bath water.

Now, are you REALLY going to stand there and say YOUR Holy Spirit trumps MY Holy Spirit?

Here's where we're at:

The Bible talks about those who attribute genuine gifts of the Holy Spirit to satan - and by denying that genuine gifts of tongues are of the Holy Spirit you are doing JUST THAT - they do not recognize that they are of the Holy Spirit because they are listening to a spirit that is something else... that denies the power of God to be the same yesterday today and tomorrow.

So I'd be careful before declaring yourself the final arbiter of God's Word.

VERRRRY careful
He has as much right to say that in THIS THREAD as KelbyofGod did in his thread on tongues

Did you mock him also?

I can not comprehend how people can look at rom 6, 1 cor 12, Gal 3 and col 2 is some human who is immersing (baptise) you in water and not God immersing you into Christs death, His burial, his body, christ himself and the spiritual washing (circumcision) done by the hand of God himself.

I think this issue is the word was never translated, it was transliterated.
Amen.....transliterated words and skewed words in the King Jimmy have caused a plethora of erroneous views for sure!!

How many high iq p

How many high iq people study the bible for to come the conclusion that God does not exist. The miracles are fairy tales, Jesus is risen only spirituell.
And if you believe to an virgin birth you belong to the backforst people.

So study may not always leads to the right conclusion.
Amen....the current Pope has studied for how long? And he still has no clue or inkling of the truth!!

Titus 3:9-11 (CSBBible)
9 But avoid foolish debates, genealogies, quarrels, and disputes about the law, because they are unprofitable and worthless.
10 Reject a divisive person after a first and second warning.
11 For you know that such a person has gone astray and is sinning; he is self-condemned.

I wonder if it's possible for a thread about a contentious issue not to become a train wreck.

Peoples egos are too fragile. An intelligent articulate person winning a debate would not be accepted. A thin skinned egocentric or hot head who cannot articulate thoughts in a logical manner go back to kindergarten. Too bad.

Yes, but it takes everyone to be MATURE CHRISTIANS, and realizing that we can AGREE to DISAGREE, and let it GO at that. But one immature hot heat cans spoil the best laid plans for mice and men. But the tongues issue HAS way to many immature Christians, on their side, that only know raise the HEATED ARGUMENT and let Tempers Flare, and INSULTS are the way to WIN, so it is very rare.

I had a Pentecostal Pastor, in the Prison Ministry, with me, and we knew that each one of us would disagree on this subject, yet we enjoyed discussing this issue, KNOWING that in the we would have to agree to disagree. We never got angry with each other, and have remained friends despite our differences. But you both have to listened to each other, and that is the key to our relationship.

I don't speak in tongues but I am not at odds with those who believe they do. Without interpretation it's between them and God. To me that means it's none of my business. The Oracles of Delphi spoke in tongues too. They were far from being Christians but perhaps for some it is a revisit to a primal state while to others it is a useful gift from the Holy Spirit. Only God can separate the sheep from the goats and or fakes.

Just caught the second sentence TYPO. That should read: But one immature hot head.

Neither does unbelief in what is plainly read.

You know stone, I have been meaning to compliment you. You have gained the ability to present the opposite point of view, without stirring the pot very much. Yes, I still disagree with much of those statements that you make, but you do not seem to want to Tame down the ARGUMENTS.

Unlike the immature Christian from your side of the fence, that only know how to create Strife, Vicious Arguments, Insults, False Accusations, Pronounce We are of the Devil, ETC.

Thank You.

Careful, when the Apostles did it, it was ALWAYS a early Language that they had never learned. And NEVER ecstatic utterances that they Pagans use. Remember Mary Baker Eddy, the founder of the Church of Christ, Scientist, thought you could mix Hinduism with Christianity, forming a more perfect religion. All she did was to form a Psuedo Christian Cult.

There have may have been ecstatic utterances in the Church at Corinth which Paul was also addressing.

Brother, why you attacking? You should read why he open this thread.
Its an biblical view, at least as much as yours.
Nobody denys God and His power!
Just read and agree ore disagree

But to attack shows less fruit of the Spirit.

Really... well I see the OP as an attack on those who believe and speak in tongues. Charging someone is speaking in tongues under demon power sounds like an attack to me. I don't see the fruit of the Spirit there.
