11 Aim for perfection
2 cor 13

If one has never been purified, one can not know what it means to begin the walk.
So many think believing a few ideas about Jesus is enough to be saved, and keep
their hearts locked away, and sins unresolved.

Maturity or being perfect is not as impossible as it sounds.
The question is whether we know the meaning of the words and Gods ways in our
heart.
If one has never been purified, one can not know what it means to begin the walk.
I agree with you because we receive sustenance from the VINE and you have to be In the VINE to receive sustenance

After salvation renew your mind so that you may prove that good and acceptable and the perfect will of GOD.

You wouldn’t need to prove It I to GOD because HE knows your heart and doesn’t need the see that physical action but man does need to see physical action.

We are made Holy through Christ and the cross, through repentance and faith.
But we can become defiled, unclean through what we say and do. So our walk is part of Holiness.
If our walk does not effect us, why repent, why obey, why is there any morality in Jesus and the Father?

Restitution is about resolving our evil behaviour, recognising the hurt we have done to others and how
we can get things restored. If we are not prepared to pay the price of restitution how can we claim to
know love and righteousness? Salvation is desiring to follow Jesus and walk in His ways.

As Jesus says to love Him is to obey Him.
Because Everyone KNOWS deep down that there IS GOD.
The creation declares It.

What is Gods perfect altar? What did Jesus mean to the rich young man to say that following
Jesus would make him perfect? What did Jesus mean by saying we should love our enemies
as the Father does, and doing so would be perfect?
The perfect Alar is the Cross of Christ Jesus.
Jesus told the rich young ruler something He knew the ruler couldn't keep, that is why the Text continues...

Matthew 19:25-26 (KJV) When his disciples heard it, they were exceedingly amazed, saying, Who then can be saved? But Jesus beheld them, and said unto them, With men this is impossible; but with God all things are possible.

I am shocked. You change what I declare, which is what God says about everything, He is the
creator, He defines the rules and ways and His way is perfect, into me saying things are as
"whatever I define it as"
What 'you' declare? You are only confirming my suspicion. The Scriptures were given to us by God but in the language of men. We are to seek out the meaning in the Hebrew/Greek/Aramaic, not just make up our own meaning.

While perfect can and does mean complete, it also means absolutely perfect, as God is absolutely perfect. And as Christ is absolutely perfect.

When we are justified by God's grace, we are washed in the blood of the Lamb, and we are also given the gift of the Holy Spirit. The Spirit begins His work of sanctifying us, but we will only be perfected at the Resurrection/Rapture. In the meantime, God expects us to purify ourselves by turning away from sins and idols, and by practising righteousness and holiness.

1 JOHN 3
1 Behold, what manner of love the Father hath bestowed upon us, that we should be called the sons of God: therefore the world knoweth us not, because it knew him not.
2 Beloved, now are we the sons of God, and it doth not yet appear what we shall be: but we know that, when he shall appear, we shall be like him; for we shall see him as he is.
3 And every man that hath this hope in him purifieth himself, even as he is pure.
I totally agree with the fact of Imputed Righteousness, but when FHS introduces the Rich Young Ruler and Jesus' standard for him to be perfect, it becomes clear FHS is not referring to the Robe of Righteousness which you are referring to.

But we live holy AFTER GOD makes our spirits just and perfect.

15 Do not call anything impure that God has made clean.
Acts 10

I am shocked. You change what I declare, which is what God says about everything, He is the

"whatever I define it as"

My experience of people who do this, it they are mirroring the truth, their definitions are not
Gods, and they want to justify their view as opposed to Gods word. I have met this before, and
know the signs.

Sinful men do exactly this as David describes in a Psalm

1 An oracle is within my heart concerning the sinfulness of the wicked:
There is no fear of God before his eyes.
2 For in his own eyes he flatters himself too much to detect or hate his sin.
3 The words of his mouth are wicked and deceitful; he has ceased to be wise and to do good.
4 Even on his bed he plots evil; he commits himself to a sinful course and
does not reject what is wrong.
Psalm 36

3 I will proclaim the name of the LORD. Oh, praise the greatness of our God!
4 He is the Rock, his works are perfect, and all his ways are just. A faithful
God who does no wrong, upright and just is he.
Deut 13
I don't follow what you are trying to say here. Can you say it in a paragraph? My ADD is acting up today.

"confirming my suspicion" - what is your suspicion?
What are you suspicious of? I suggest you declare your belief or else we are
just kept waiting.

Some seem to believe there is something more than shinning as Gods workmanship, as saints
walking after our Lord, in His ways and His path. Purity is the beginning of seeing what is wrong,
to know what love truly is, why dying for another is the highest form of sacrifice, that the glory of
man is just a clanging gong.

Paul never felt he was perfect, and John declared to believe we are without sin is sin itself.
But our goal and our cross is to follow Jesus and learn how to sow to love and reap eternal
life in Christ Jesus our Lord, Amen.

just so anyone posting or reading this will know- the O.P, does not recognize any definitions of words that he choses , he just makes up his own meanings, without care for the actual language,

in another thread, he and I were discussing the definition of sin, he stated that the greek language ( which the N.T. was written in ) as a " philosophy ".
that's it, saying no more, just wanted to point out the mindset at
confirming my suspicion" - what is your suspicion?
Just what GB9 said above

Just what GB9 said above
So you have your own definition of everything and are not interested in Gods meaning.
I know this is your meaning, because you are not walking in the light and being open.

7 But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship with one another,
and the blood of Jesus, his Son, purifies us from all sin.
1 John 1

The deception of sinners who claim to be believers, is they want to preserve their lifestyle
while claiming they point to Jesus, and nothing else is required.

This is the hypocrisy the pharisees fell into, they like the image they had as believers, but
did not care if they broke the rules, because their hearts were full of greed and self indulgence.
Many christians follow this example, trusting in the promises, not realising they apply to
people who actually are new creations following Jesus's ways.

I wonder how many believe being impure is ok because Christ covers us with His blood.

Paul disagrees. He says simply if you are impure you are not a believer.

5 For of this you can be sure: No immoral, impure or greedy person--
such a man is an idolater--has any inheritance in the kingdom of Christ and of God.
6 Let no one deceive you with empty words, for because of such things
God's wrath comes on those who are disobedient.
7 Therefore do not be partners with them.
Ephesians 5

Too many think purity is an option, when it is our life blood.
Now I know those who have never repented or been cleansed but beleive God
accepts them will hate me for saying this, but this is Gods message.

There is no compromise with purity, plain and simple.

7 For God did not call us to be impure, but to live a holy life.
8 Therefore, he who rejects this instruction does not reject
man but God, who gives you his Holy Spirit.
9 Now about brotherly love we do not need to write to you, for
you yourselves have been taught by God to love each other.
1 Thess 4

I had hoped that fellow brothers and sisters would rejoice at knowing purity
and holiness in their hearts, but sadly many think they know Jesus yet abide
in sin and evil, impurity and destruction, not knowing their freedom is at hand
in the cross and in Jesus, but they reject this and condemn those who bring this
message of life and love. God bless you

Order in the Court, order in the Court, 'cause here come da Judge!
You are simply not declaring your meaning or understanding.
That is not walking in the light. And the trouble with accusers is they
love to play games and hide their real beliefs and foundations, because
simply they are sinners justifying their own behaviour.

It is why Jesus described those who rejected His message as those who
walked in darkness because their deeds were evil.

Who here doesnt sin? (No one)

Who here knows what they should do and does otherwise? (Sin)

If we sin, and we ask for forgiveness and ask God to help us not give in to temptation I believe God will help us overcome our sins.

We all deal with certain levels of anger, lust, bitterness, etc. Its how we deal with it shows where we are in our walk.

If in my past I would have reacted in anger to hurting someone or cursing someone out, and now I refrain from such behavior.. Im making progress. God is working on me through His Holy Spirit.

God knows we will all be tempted and tested in our daily life, but its up to us how we choose to react. If we follow Jesus it should begin to show evidence in our walk.

One clear sign is walking in love. If someone cuts you off in traffic, offends you, curses you, threatens you, etc. And you respond with respect and humility, then you can be sure you are not walking in the flesh. Because the pride of life will tell you to respond otherwise. Instead we should choose to keep a loving attitude.

Its easy to not let people offend you online, we dont know one another, but in real life when offenses come, can you turn the other cheek? Peace that surpasses understanding has been a blessing in my life. A few people would have gotten hurt in the past, Id probly be in jail facing prison. Instead I turn the other cheek and ignore. God is my redeemer, God is my Father.

Just a gut check to some of you. Some of these insults to one another needs to be brought down to a minimum. You should reflect Jesus if you indeed know Christ. This goes for me as well. Im not trying to be offending anyone. If we can grow in the Lord by sharing truth, so be it.

Colossians 3:8 But now you yourselves are to put off all these: anger, wrath, malice, blasphemy, filthy language out of your mouth. 9 Do not lie to one another, since you have put off the old man with his deeds, 10 and have put on the new man who is renewed in knowledge according to the image of Him who created him,
Character of the New Man
12 Therefore, as the elect of God, holy and beloved, put on tender mercies, kindness, humility, meekness, longsuffering; 13 bearing with one another, and forgiving one another, if anyone has a complaint against another; even as Christ forgave you, so you also must do. 14 But above all these things put on love, which is the bond of perfection.

My point is ...Look who is doing the accusing. Perhaps you need to clean off your mirror.

My friend, do you know how to walk in the light?
Do you know the meaning? It is about trusting and openness.
So on the subject of purity, what is your understanding?

I totally agree with the fact of Imputed Righteousness, but when FHS introduces the Rich Young Ruler and Jesus' standard for him to be perfect, it becomes clear FHS is not referring to the Robe of Righteousness which you are referring to.
It is possible to believe that our behaviour has no import into life, we are just vessels
bobbing along the sea of grace.

Paul calls us Holy, pure, temples of the living God.
Purity, blamelessness, holy, mattered to Paul, and his motives driven by love and concern.

10 You are witnesses, and so is God, of how holy, righteous and blameless we were among you who believed.
11 For you know that we dealt with each of you as a father deals with his own children,
12 encouraging, comforting and urging you to live lives worthy of God, who calls you into his kingdom and glory.
1 Thess 2

Some think this behaviour comes from obedience, self righteousness, but it only comes from love,
love for others, and desiring that they might know Jesus and His love flowing through them.

Religion for some is just a set of beliefs they hold because they are convinced nothing else makes
sense. That is the first step on the road, but not the road of faith. Faith begins in the heart, where
ones whole life is at stake upon ones belief. And it is saying, ones own body would die for another
to show the depth of love and commitment one has for ones fellow man. What is hard is how to
express this with meaning, a desire to bring life to others, and to connect in love and support.
It took Jesus 3 years to connect with His disciples, and only did it become real with the anointing
of the Holy Spirit.

Are we like Jesus or is it a walk of transformation, learning and application?

Study these words. Obey, sow, learn, put into practise, listen, will teach you,
submit, humble, persevere, make every effort, labour, live, practise, dwell, abide,
put your trust....

The above are all actions we must do which will change us, so we will become
something different as a result of doing these things. Some believe they are
a static being who is not affected by what they do and say, when these very
things define who we are.

We spend so much time in our heads we believe we are who we are, when if
you sum up our actions that is who we are in the world, that is our impact, that
is our value or lack of it. So is this a list of good things or things we are ashamed
of? Are we prepared to admit our goal is to reach Jesus and His ways, and our hearts
are dedicated to achieving this, day in day out, Amen.

14 I press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus.
15 All of us who are perfect should take such a view of things.
And if on some point you think differently, that too God will make clear to you.
16 Only let us live up to what we have already attained.
Phil 3

This is our calling, this is our salvation, this is our life.

You previously concluded I didn't. So why ask me now?

So on the subject of purity, what is your understanding?
In brief...
We have been purified by the blood of Jesus as believers.
We are continually being cleansed as believers.
We will never reach full purity in this life.
(Did I pass your test?)

It is possible to believe that our behaviour has no import into life, we are just vessels
bobbing along the sea of grace.
As born again believers, this is not possible because God won't allow that to be a permanant sation gor His children.

Philippians 2:13 (KJV) For it is God which worketh in you both to will and to do of his good pleasure.

And ye have forgotten the exhortation which speaketh unto you as unto children, My son, despise not thou the chastening of the Lord, nor faint when thou art rebuked of him: For whom the Lord loveth he chasteneth, and scourgeth every son whom he receiveth. If ye endure chastening, God dealeth with you as with sons; for what son is he whom the father chasteneth not? But if ye be without chastisement, whereof all are partakers, then are ye bastards, and not sons.
(Heb 12:5-8)

You see, 'grace' is more than a religious word, it is God in action for our good.
