For the deniers that faith is what saves that also deny that Grace is a POSITION that a believer is placed into and afforded BY FAITH.....and I will not even show dia the GREEK and BELIEVE and FAITH come from the same ROOT word.....well.....maybe I should because of the drivel that will come from ONE

Obtaining as the outcome of your faith the salvation of your souls.

You see how he picked a particular translation and then out of context to peddle a point.....we can play that game as well....

Who are kept by the power of God through faith unto salvation ready to be revealed in the last time.

its in james 2. there is empty faith

its in 1 corinthians 15:1-4 too. "if you have believed in vain"

None say faith alone. (By itself) saves us, do they?

We are not saved by faith through grace. It’s the other way around

James 2:14 - What use is it, my brethren, if someone says (claims) he has faith but he has no works? Can that faith save him? What kind of faith is that? - "Empty profession of faith/dead faith."

SAYS (or claims) he has faith is the key word here.

And Titus 1:16

Well I completely disagree on this ... James not is not writing about an empty profession of faith... since that is not faith, that only confuses what faith is..... faith is faith.

He is writing about faith that has become inoperative and not visible to other men by works.... since his letter is based on "the law of liberty" but how to be men of faith before other men.

We been here before Dan, but I hope you will reconsider since this dead faith is a problem especially from the OSAS standpoint, because something dead was once alive and that is basic laws of nature.

JESUS said FAITH SAVES.....and GRACE is a position.....try an actual rendering of Ephesians from the GREEK

I know we have all discussed this before and I believe the key to this whole discourse is the statement that even the demons belive.....HE is addressing JEWS......they have the same problem today that they had back then.....

THEY, just like the demons, BELIEVE in GOD......BUT they do not POSSESS saving faith into the Christ or the work of CHRIST......

IMO, there is a difference in saying faith alone and faith in Christ alone for salvation. The power of God unto salvation is the Gospel of Christ to those who will respond to him in belief/trust. The object of faith in Christ for our salvation.

James 2 is all about "head knowledge" verses saving faith. FAITH that comes from God NEVER becomes inoperative.

GRACE is a position we are placed into dia FAITH.......and if you would take 1 second to actually study you could figure this out.....

IN the GRACE wherein we NOW STAND

and a CORRECT grammatical translation...

IN THE GRACE YOU ARE -->HAVING BEEN SAVED OUT OF FAITH <----and that NOT of yourself, it is the GIFT of GOD and not of works LEST ANY MAN SHOULD BOAST

GOD has dealt to EVERY MAN a MEASURE of FAITH
