The above is pure ignorance.....and not only that but proves you are not very honest....

If I had a dime for every time I have said Jesus begins, finishes and completes the work of faith in us and is the source of the faith that saves....

You prove by this post that you are dishonest and divisive at best!

Do not ever adress me again until you can be honest with all that I have said......ever!
So then JESUS saves us, NOT OUR FAITH!

Does not matter what he thinks.....the bible is clear....faith alone is what saves a man regardless of the drivel. In the grace you are <---having been saved OUT OF FAITH.....if anything he peddles a salvation that needs man's help......end of story!
Where does the Bible say faith alone is what saves man? Mine says that we are saved by GRACE

Where do you read saved by faith alone?

i always think about that verse. calvinists use it alot. author of our faith. how is Jesus the author of our faith? when we are told to believe.
Just as God used His Word to create the universe, He uses His Word to regenerate us

He spoke, and the universe sprang into existence.

And He spoke and faith was created in our hearts

He speaks, we hear, we live

Regeneration.

What about faith in Christ alone saves us?

Thanks
So are you saying that your faith is the effectual power that raised you from spiritual death? No, sir. Gods power is what raised you from spiritual death, the effectual power.

So then faith does not save us, Christ does.
Here is how I understand it. Christ is the actual means of our salvation and faith is the instrumental means by which we obtain salvation. It is by grace that we have been saved through faith. We are saved the moment that we place our faith (belief, trust, reliance) in Jesus Christ alone for salvation, which does not omit the grace of God, so it's not faith alone "in that sense" (faith apart from God's grace and the redemption that is in Christ Jesus - Romans 3:24). It's also not by an empty profession of faith/dead faith which remains alone ' "barren of works" (James 2:14) that saves us either, yet we are still saved by grace through faith, not works. (Ephesians 2:8,9)

You don’t think it was God’s power, not your faith that raised you to spiritual life?

Seriously because if you think your faith is what saves you or keeps you, you are on a very poor foundation

Because we are kept the same way we are saved. By the power of God through faith

Not by faith, by the power through faith

Yes I took exception to saved by faith alone. God began His work towards us BEFORE we believed

Ephesians 2:1 says we WERE dead, and it’s not talking about the body, now is it?
It's talking about this.

Rom 7:24 O wretched man that I am! who shall deliver me from the body of this death?

but thats calvinism. where God just speaks faith to us. where is that in the bible?

bible says us that we need to believe we need to have faith. we hear the gospel and then there is the opportunity to either put faith or reject faith

That’s not Calvinism, that’s Bible. The Bible says that when you hear the word and believe, it is due to an operation of Gods grace. Now, that grace can be resisted, so yes you can choose to believe or reject Gods grace. But if you choose to believe, it is because God brought you to that point

I do not believe in irresistible grace, and certain other Calvinist things, so I am not a calvinist

Not sure what an "empty profession" of faith is..... I see no where in scripture where faith is not faith.

If it is an "empty profession" then it is not faith.

So when did Christ raise the body of death? Because Ephesians 2 did not just say we were dead. That’s only half of it. It also says we were raised to life. So what was dead that was raised to life?

completely backwards. We are saved by grace through faith, not saved by faith because of grace
Eph_2:8 For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:

We don't offer grace to OURSELVES so "and that not of YOURSELVES" is talking about FAITH. FAITH is a GIFT of God.

Mac the bible is written to promote every heresy there ever has been. That's why I PUSH the KJV, because EVERY SINGLE WORD MATTERS.

Heb_4:12 For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.

You're looking for WORKS and the bible KNOWS THAT and it is DECIEVEING you so that you can HAVE exactly what YOU are looking for.

Bible translators are just like YOU, they come to the word with PRECONCEIVED IDEAS and the word of God KNOWS THAT and DECIEVES them.

The only way around that deception is for GOD to INSPIRE the TRANSLATION.
